My immediate instinct was Virginia, thinking they'd be the motivated ACC team going for program history playing an SEC team without its starting QB or some valuable pass-catchers.
But I think Virginia is disappointed after narrowly missing the playoffs.
And it looks like Virginia's starting RB might opt out, and its leading wide receiver Trell Harris is banged-up. Key run-stopper Kam Robinson is also out. Valuable defensive back has hit the transfer portal.
I don't think it makes sense to see Virginia having an edge in terms of opt-out/injuries or, with Mizzou head coach having a good recent bowl game history, motivation.
I think four points on a neutral field is wild. Virginia had a very easy schedule, its "Super Bowl" win coming at home against a Florida State team that turned out to suck. Mizzou, way better tested, only lost to playoff teams plus at Vandy. Mizzou is top-16 on defense against the run and the pass. Concerned that Mizzou backup is pretty bad, but Mizzou beat Miss State by 22 with a 53.3 completion percentage from him. Mizzou should run over Virginia.
Spread down to Mizzou -3.5, as it seems like money is pouring in on the Hoos. Thinking Mizzou at least doubles the spread.
