Underrated great players no one talks about anymore

Grant and Stack came oh so close to both having 2000 point seasons. Hill missed 8 games and Jerry was 61 short back in 1999-2000...

Mentioned these names in the discussion thread the other night, but think they're worth repeating here:

Arvydas Sabonis
Sarunas Marciulionis
Drazen Petrovic

sabonis was incredible I thought....shouldn't he be HOF just for being him and that big with a jumper?

These are not the only things they look for in a HOF qualification process but I guess they are part of it.

It is 'Basketball' HOF, not NBA fwiw.

Dude took 8-9 years to finally get to America. Imagine a prime Sabonis...wow...

Went through the thread ... not sure if he is too good to mention but what about Jack Sikma? (I think it was jack??)

He was mentioned. I wasn't old enough for his Sonic days but his Buck days. It was always weird to me watching him and you...er him and Laimbeer matching up shooting 3's, getting boards. It was so abnormal then.

Man, I loved BL.

do you think Sheed was/is underrated?

Underrated.

He is an interesting one because I also feel his skill level was that of an all-time great at the PF spot and to that end he under performed. I didn't realize how good he was in little ways till watching him 80 times a year, especially defensively. He was the perfect 3rd best player on a great team...or 4th...

I would never of had the appreciation I had for him unless he played here.

*In college, I thought he was going to be a lesser but similar version to Akeem/Hakeem.
