Not a real exciting card considering its a PPV and has 2 title bouts. Maybey it will over-perform.

After a good day last week, I'm sitting pretty on the year. Let's keep it moving in the right direction!

...one more on early prelims

  • 3/1.88 Marc-Andre Barriault -160

  • Barriault - Silva should be set for a banger up nest. Barriault has shown a granite chin and will benefit from the home town crowd's energy. He's always had an aggressive style with good defense which should catch the judges eye in case he don't find the KO. Silva after starting UFC strong has lost 6 of his last 7 and may be near the end...career-wise.

Early Prelims:

❌3/3.63 Brad Katona +121
❌2.70/2 Jeong Yeong Lee -135
✅3/2.80 Santos/Yeong Lee Over 2½ -107
3/1.88 Marc-Andre Barriault -160

ESPN Prelims:

  • 3/3.15 Navajo Stirling wins inside distance +105
  • 2.12/2 Modestas Bukauskas -106
  • 3/2.01 Bukauskas/Cutelaba Over 1½ -149
  • 2/3.80 Charles Radtke +190
  • 2/1.41 Radtke/Malott Over 1½ -142
1746919609020.jpeg
  • Navajo Stirling (6-0) get his 2nd UFC fight early in his career. He's a Aussie trained by City Kickboxing and has trained with premier talent under Eugene Bareman. He's a physical specimen and both these fighters primary discipline is kick-boxing so we can expect a stand0up affair. With size, length and a very still jab
  • Navajo should control the fight and find a KO finish.
  • Both Bukauskas (17-6) and Cutelaba (19-10-1) are roughly 500 fighters in the UFC that have both found good success recently with Modesto 4-1 in his last 5 while the "Hulk" has managed a 3-1 run coming in. Ian is most dangerous with his power punching but sometimes falls behind in volume. On the other hand "The Baltic Gladiator" should prove the more consistent striker so long as he can avoid takedown and Cutelaba brutal G-n-P.
  • I do lean with Jasmine Jasudavicius and the over I may lay off because even at her age Andrade has crazy power and could be very dangerous throughout.
  • Malott has never faced a pressure fighter like Radtke who will be inside throwing everything he has early. Radke will be at a size disadvantage so if he can't land something big early it may not be his night. His durability will extend the fight if he don't find an early finish himself.

This is to be expected when they go to Montreal. Gotta cater to that French-Canadian demographic.

I'm used to this being a lot later, it's so early. This is PPV? Like I have to actually find it online? Brain still thinks it's Cinco weekend.

Days got really long really fast here. Sun is all the sudden up until like 8pm. I don't remember the days where it went down between 6-8. Like this happened overnight and it's hot AF. Hundred right now which is fine but the AC bill is getting ready to fly through the roof!

Main Card:
  • 2/1.54 Benoit Saint Denis wins in round 1 -130
  • 2/1.21 Prepolec/Saint Denis Under 1½ -165
  • 3/3.98 Alexa Grasso +199
  • 3/3.45 Valentina Shevchenko +115
1746926799668.webp
  • Benoit Saint-Denis gets short notice opponent Kyle Prepolec (18-8) who return to UFC for first time since 9/14/19. The "God of War" is known to mix striking/grappling/early pressure to dominate the fight and get early finish.
  • I do like Natalia Silva (18-5-1) but I really can't understand these odds. Grasso (16-4-1) is an ex champ who who went 1-1-1 vs Shevchenko but otherwise had won 4 straight and 5 of 6. I don't think she's getting respect at these odd.
  • The Women's flyweight title fight will be some of the highest level women's striking matchups ever. Fiorot is basic no non sense striker who like to control the center, but the "Bullet" has seen it all in her long career and she knows what it takes to win having been there many times. Manon may prove the better striker, maybe, so don't be surprised if Valentina takes this fight to the ground. Likely goes the distance and the judges decide it.

315 Bonuses...

Fight of the Night: Jack Della Maddalena / Belal Muhammad

Jack Della Maddalena def. Belal Muhammad via unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 49-46)
Title change in main event when Jack Della Maddalena (18-2 MMA, 8-0 UFC) upset Belal Muhammad (24-4 MMA, 15-4 UFC), in his first attempted defense of the title. In losing, Belal earned just his third bonus – and his first Fight of the Night in his nearly nine year UFC career.

Performance: Jasmine Jasudavicius

Jasmine Jasudavicius def. Jessica Andrade via submission (rear-naked choke) – Round 1, 2:40
Canada's Jasmine Jasudavicius (14-3 MMA, 8-2 UFC) continued her rapid ascent up the women's FWT ladder when she submitted former SWT champion Jessica Andrade in the first-round submission. She now earns strong case consideration for a title shot.

Performance: Marc-Andre Barriault

Marc-Andre Barriault def. Bruno Silva via knockout (elbows) – Round 1, 1:27
It's pretty hard to deny someone a bonus when their knockout sends an opponent out of the arena on a stretcher and to the hospital. That's what Marc-Andre Barriault (17-9 MMA, 6-8 UFC) did to Bruno Silva (23-13 MMA, 4-7 UFC) with crazy elbows on the prelims. Plus, he took 20 percent of Silva's purse because the Brazilian missed weight.

Both Belal and Jack have faces taylor-made to absorb punches. They both took lots of damage, but the knee Belal ate without hardly slowing down was incredible. Jack was able to keep his foot on the gas no matter the pace and he was the better striker.

1746961162708.jpeg

It wasn't a good night for me with a couple close calls that may have helped...Prepolec/Saint Denis under missed by 6 seconds...Navajo Stirling should have got finish in R3 but he ran out of gas when his opponent was literally out. Also I did have Jack although I didn't post it as it got so late and the booze was flowing,
