UFC 169

Who do you guys think the UFC puts up for Anderson in his return fight? Vitor if he loses to Weidman?

Reem/hunt would be fun.

As fun as Aldo'/Pettis would be, Mendes deserves a chance.

Lamas is tough. If he can get Aldo to the ground he may be able to wear him down. 2-1 or 3-0 Aldo

Respect for Lamas. Clear loss. Lamas needed to get him down before 5th round. His ground and pound is so sick.

I thought Aldo was fucking bullshit for not going for a finish in this fight. Absolutely unacceptable. Lamas was tough as fuck though.

Thoughts:

someone tell Kevin Lee he ain't Mayweather and that shoulder roll shit don't work in MMA.

loved es the heart of Lamas

really like Iaquinta as a fighter (though he's not a top fighter)

makdessi got got absolutley robbed.

Mir is done

might have start looking at Ali as a title contender.

Terrible card despite me thinking it was going to be a really good one.

LOL holy shit....that's awesome

Also, bitchin about that stoppage seems week...what was uriah's next move? Covering his nuts?

Kid was done....

Disagree very much. Renan has clearly shown he can gas in the third round and beyond and he's punching a very stout guy in the arm and suddenly it's a finish? Baffling.

Lots of ufc news, cant believe evans is out of the fight. Also, Dana is playing hard ball with gilbert and then bashing reem which he seems to love to do.

Daniel Cormier will remain on next week's UFC 170 card after all.
A day after the UFC decided to pull Cormier from the card following Rashad Evans' knee injury, the promotion has decided to book Cormier vs. newcomer Patrick Cummins as the new co-main event of UFC 170, UFC president Dana White confirmed with MMAFighting.com.
"I heard about this kid Patrick Cummins before," UFC president Dana White told MMAFighting.com. "The thing that's interesting about this kid is that he was the training partner of Daniel Cormier and claims that he made Cormier cry when they would train together. Not only did he say that, he said he broke him every time, and he said he would break him again next Saturday."
Cummins (4-0) is considered one of the brightest light-heavyweight prospects in MMA. The former Penn State University two-time All-American and national champion runner-up has finished all of his opponents in the first round. His manager, Ryan Parsons, claims over 50 light heavyweights have turned down fights against him since he went pro in Dec. 2012. He currently trains at the Reign Training Center with the likes of Mark Munoz and Chael Sonnen.
Cummins had been campaigning for the opportunity on Twitter from the moment news of Evans' knee injury broke.
"There's a lot of pressure that comes with trying to win a gold medal," Cormier told MMAFighting.com, "something that Pat wouldn't understand since he was only a training partner to me and Kerry McCoy. He wasn't the guy. I appreciate him stepping up and taking the fight, but we're going to see who's going to be crying after we fight next Saturday night."
Cormier (13-0) will be making his light heavyweight debut on the card. The American Kickboxing Academy fighter is 2-0 in the UFC, picking up decision wins over Frank Mir and Roy Nelson. He told MMAFighting.com Wednesday night that he was very upset he couldn't fight next week after working hard to make the weight.
"I'm very sad," he said. "It's very sad, because I've worked hard. So if anyone wants to fight, let's fight."
Patrick Cummins has answered that call.

While Alistair Overeem claims he couldn’t accept two offered matchups with Junior dos Santos due to injury, UFC President Dana White begs to differ.
White put Overeem (37-13 MMA, 2-2 UFC) on blast during Wednesday’s edition of FOX Sports 1’s “UFC Tonight,” saying the former Strikeforce heavyweight champion was “literally hiding” from a fight with dos Santos (16-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC).
“The Reem” was quick to discredit that notion, citing the need to rehabilitate nagging injuries before he can return to the octagon following his decision victory over Frank Mir at UFC 169 earlier this month.
While the two parties haven’t spoken since the issue was brought to public knowledge, White said at a Thursday media luncheon in Las Vegas that he isn’t buying what Overeem’s selling.
“I have a feeling this rib injury is going to last as long as it takes for dos Santos to get another opponent,” White told MMAjunkie. “That’s what I’m willing to bet. This is going to be the longest rib injury ever. As soon as we get dos Santos a fight that rib is going to heal right up.”
If not for an injury, White isn’t sure exactly why Overeem would be unwilling to take him a fight that would likely be a direct path into a championship bout against Cain Velasquez.
“You say you want to be the best in the world? You want to be the world champion? This is the No. 1 guy. This is the guy. This is the f—ing gatekeeper,” White said. “You beat this guy, nobody is going to question you. Shouldn’t he be chomping at the bit for a fight like that? Especially when you told us how much money you deserve and how you’re going to be the next champ.”
With Overeem currently vacationing in Jamaica, there is no way to find out who is on the right side of the argument.
From White’s perspective, though, all he has to do is look back at Overeem’s in-cage callout of Brock Lesnar to see that if a fight the Dutchman really want was put on the table, he’d surely accept.
“[Overeem] marches his f—ing ass in here. Tells us how much he’s worth. He’s worth all this money, he’s the best heavyweight in the world, he’s going to be the champion, and he doesn’t want to f—ing fight anybody,” White said. “I bet you his f—ing rib wouldn’t be hurting if we got Brock Lesnar, bet you his rib would be fine…did anybody hear anything about a rib injury until I offered him dos Santos two different ways?
“You guys come to whatever conclusion you want to on that, I know what the truth is.”
