I expect Overeem to completely destroy Mir. Mir's success has only been when the Heavyweight division had nothing. (fighting a glorified 205er with no chin in Arlovski and Slyvia.....come on, look at him?)

Overeem lost to two pretty tough fighters and in both fights was fairly close to finishes. (I'm really high on Browne and have been; taking him in every fight, including the loss to Silva) Mir is gonna have to get Overeem to the ground, anyone see that happening?

Renan Barao vs. Urijah Faber

Faber on a roll. He beats anyone that isnt a top fighter. Unfortuanetly, he's fighting one of the best and someone that really doesn't get a ton of pub for how good he is. Think this line is right. Faber on a roll, but I don't see him winning...won't lay money either way.

for bantamweight title
Jose Aldo vs. Ricardo Lamas

Aldo, as good as he is is someone I've looked to fade. Don't get me wrong, Aldo is great; but I'm talking purely value I think he gets gets too much credit. In my mind, his most impressive wins are Swanson (who I love as well), Mendes, Faber, and Edgar. Lamas has been on a roll and I've been more and more impressed with him. I will likely put a quarter to a half a unit on Lamas and keep rolling small fades of Aldo until he loses. Yes, Aldo should be a significant favorite, but I see him over valued. I want to see Swanson/Mendes fight and winner take on Aldo.

Ali Bagautinov vs. John Lineker. I think Lineker may be a slight fave here, not sure. Lineker hits like a mack truck, but I like Ali's overall game. I think he was really impressive against Elliot who is hard to fight bc f his crazy movement. I think Ali has more ways to win and will be on him more than likely.

Abel Trujillo vs. Jamie Varner Trujilo just fought? I can't ever get Varners fights right except the loss to Cerrone. Need to look at this more.

Have to research the other ones. Looking out for a Lineker/Ali fight of the night prop. (which will be tough because both title fights could be exciting decisions). But, probably get great odds on it.

Go ahead and put some of my fight night thoughts in here:

Costas has impressed me on the feet, but gets wreslefucked. Rockhold by decision.

Larkin/Tavares is an interesting fight. Both good takedown defense and neither go for a bunch of takedowns. Neither has a ton of power and neither finish fights. I give Larkin a slight adv on the feet, but Tavares could fight smart and get a takedown or 2 in the fight. Leaning Tavares as it's 50/50 in my book and if the Tavares by decision prop is too crazy, I will have a little on that.

Dont know much about the guy fighting Brenneman; gonna have to look him up. I know he fights out of the Wand Team.

Dilleshaw is rightly a strong fave; probably won't touch.

I like Cole Miller to beat Sicilia; not a big fan of Sam. Dont like it enough to lay money though I don't think.

Cant get Brunson losing to Grove and getting KOed by Jacare out of my head. Brunson also looked awful vs. Leben. Romero will be parlayed with something for me.

Looking more into the other fights. This is actually a pretty stacked card for a fight night, imo. Not necessarily name fighters, but some great matchups.

Reem's cardio is about on par with me walking up two flights of steps...

Mir has to make it to the 3rd round for it to be too much of a factor. Mir is the same dude that was out struck by Josh Barnett......ouch. He's lost 4 of his last 10 fights by tko/ko to Lesnar, Carwin, JDS, Barnet. Imagine what Overeem could do to that chin.

if they headbutt they may both be knocked out cold...both chins are a joke. Such a waste of time this fight...hate the whole division....

My picks followed by bets for tomorrow night: (changed my mind after using fight pass and/or youtube of a couple fights

L-Ozkilic. Smolka is an undefeated fighter I believe but he's a long rangy hawaiin that sticks to the outside and then shoots in from 4 miles away for takedowns. He not only will not take Oz down, he's gonna get taken down himself. I haven't seen enough of Smolka being able to get up and that certainly won't happen against D. Cruz's wrestling coach.

Vallie-Flag. Think his cardio will be the difference. Silverio looks like maybe hes the more talented fighter, but he has a first time weight cut and IVF, coached by Greg Jackson should have the cardio and gameplanning to win.

Moraga. Just the overall better fighter. Not much thought here.

W-Pichel. Was more impressed after some research about him last night. Think he has some power and Whiteley is likely on the way out of the UFC.

Edwards. Edwards is a guy that is tough. Even saw some toughness despite being destroyed by next big thing Brandon Thatch. Nijem is not impressive on his feet at all and will shoot in and try to wrestle. I think Edwards catches him in a guillitine.

Houston. This pick is simply based on Trevor Smith getting lit up on his feet by Ed Herman. If Herman can rock Smith multiple times, Houston may be able to put him to sleep. Worried bc Smith has the advantage on the ground, but based on how he reacted to Brunsons rear naked (that he was submitted by) I think Houston has an idea of what he needs to do on the ground. He just was in a bad position.

L-Brenneman. This screams wrestle-fuck.

Romero. Though Romero has the fight IQ of peacock, hes packs some sick punching power. He's an olympic wrestler so this fight isn't going to the ground unless one of them is knocked down. I think Brunson will have his head on the canvas.

Dillieshaw. Dilleshaw is better. Faster, better grappler, better striker. He did get KTFO by Dodson, but I think we see that Dodson is a legit title contender (Dilleshaw may be as well). Easton has a great pedigree, but he's slow and isn't able to put everything together in a fight.

Sicilia. I changed my mind on this. What better training partner to deal with Cole Miller than Sicilia's best bud Chiesa? Miller is not going to KO Sam and I think there is a low chance that he outpoints Sicilia for a decision. That means if SS can keep the fight standing and/or just avoid submission attempts, he has a great shot at winning. I was reminded that Miller doesn't deal well with guys with power that have an idea on the ground. And Miller has awful wrestling/take downs so the fight may not even get to the ground.

Larkin/Tavares I originally had 50/50. I think i've moved toward the favorite now. Re watched his fight with Carmont (who is beating everyone now) and he did better than I thought. Larkin was the last loss for Lawler before his run toward possibly a title shot. I had Tavares vs. Bubba McDaniel (who is one of the worst to ever fight in the UFC). Bubba easily could have won the fight in the 3rd round. What does that say?

Rockhold has every advantage there is in this fight. I don't see him losing.

may try to go to this one if I can find some decent priced tickets.

Watched Bones Jones/ Rua at Pru Center and I paid $200 to sit in the last row of the building. I won't be doing that again but I know some people that work at Prudential and they may be able to get me some tickets that make this worth going to.

2 underdogs cash on the first 3 fights. Luckily I lost both ends of one of my parlays instead of splitting. Smolka looked good, but seemed to be more of Oz gassing. Good fight though.

Nothing stands out too much first couple glances. Maybe Linekar, but his weight is always a concern.

So I've tucked my tail between my legs after the last couple events.................and I"M COMING BACK!

Lamas/Aldo over 2.5 +100
Abel +115
Magny +160
Madessi/Cariasso +170

Reem wins in RD 1 -145 @ 5dimes looks great to me. Mir has nowhere near the toughness of Browne or Bigfoot. When Reem touches him in this fight Mir will turtle up and get crushed.

I might be the only guy on earth who thinks Faber is a very live dog in this fight. Hoping money pours in on Renan tomorrow and we something around +300. I think Faber has a very clear way to win of getting inside and making this fight as ugly as possible bullying and grinding Renan down for 3 or 4 rounds.

I do too. Trying to figure out if i have the balls to take faber and Lamas.

 I think Faber has really taken it to another level since Bang Ludwig has come to Alpha Male. Really feels like he has that early WEC like swagger back.

 I think Faber has really taken it to another level since Bang Ludwig has come to Alpha Male. Really feels like he has that early WEC like swagger back.

He certainly has. Faber has alway dominated the non elite and come up lame against the best, but I wonder if Bang cures that problem.

As for Lamas, I really could see him taking Aldo down and grinding out a boring decision. He's stated that he's going to fight smart. Sometimes you get in the cage and the gameplan goes out of the window though. Lamas has really been overlooked by people.
