The Atlanta Braves placed second baseman Dan Uggla on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday in order for him to undergo eye surgery.
Diagnosed with astigmatism in spring training, Uggla opted for corrective surgery after failed experiments with contact lenses.
Uggla is hitting only .186 this season with 21 homers and 53 RBI through 112 games.
In a corresponding move, Tyler Pastornicky was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett. The infielder batted .292 (7-for-24) over 18 games during earlier stints with the Braves this year.

I may add another one to the dodgers but went under 9.5 with dbacks aand O's after last nite after these two combined for 19 hits and 13 runs last night and they combined to score in 10 of the 18 half innings.i know the stats say over though


Dodgers are 38-8 in their last 46 games overall. I like Harvey but I don't see the justification for the Dodgers being this small of a favorite over a poor New York Mets team. Harvey is great, but Ryu has been outstanding at home as well. Ryu has an ERA of 1.9 at home this season. There is no way you could even compare the Mets lineup to the Dodgers lineup. The Dodgers are 8-0 in Ryu's last 8 starts against a team with a losing record. The Dodgers are 7-0 in Ryu's last 7 starts as a favorite. The Mets are just 1-8 in their last 9 meetings between these two teams. The Dodgers are 4-0 in Ryu's last 4 starts on 4 days of rest. The Dodgers are 4-0 in their last 4 home games. In all a 31-1 angle backs this play.
