I disagree somewhat...cant use it every day but it definetly has its place..naturally the always want to win but good teams in need of a win is useful..saying bad teams need a win is somewhat different...think we saw the Yanks in a need of win yesterday getting one and starting quickly sort of was the product of it...pen blew it and they still won...
You are right though long season lots of ups and downs hard to apply that on a daily basis..:shake:
Well in my opinion there is absolutely no time in which you should say a team (other than maybe 4 or 5 of the ELITE teams - Sox, Yanks, etc.) are in need of a "must win" until the final 2 or 3 weeks of the season.
Especially when we're only 3 or 4 weeks into this season...
I just get irked when I see people say something like "This is a spot where the Rockies NEED a win"...that doesn't matter! The other team needs a win just as bad!
When you start letting things like this creep into your head, you stop capping games the correct way, and start making bets that you normally wouldn't (if you weren't thinking the whole...they need a win angle)
Just my two cents on that
Now, as far as the Yankees yesterday with the Devil Rays, yes, I took that into account when I bet them (that they wanted to start of the series right, this however did not effect my decision in betting the game)...
I know you're a Yankee fan, as I'm a Sox fan...we both know that these games in April don't matter too much, it's all about what happens after the All Star break...although the Stankees might be out of contention by then
