Bosh probably won't play tonight, due to a birth of a daughter.

Kings, Spurs and Pacers look like interesting options, but will need to do some deeper checking...

The rockets should give up a ton of points again tonight. Playing 4th game in 5 nights with travel between every game

Looks like it. Their defense vs Clips was atrocious. Harden got bitch slapped by Reddick, he dint even fight over screens. It dint help that the help defense was non existent as well. I dint even watch the final quarter.

And the blazers offense is clicking. I'll be on the Portland TT over. They have two days off after today so there isn't a look ahead of any sort or any reason to rest guys.

Played Suns over 190. Hornets currently 2-1 over with the only under vs Indiana. The 2 teams do not like each other and both face high probability losses Wednesday traveling b-b to Memphis and Spurs. Suns offense has started getting more from Green and other secondary players. See 2 efficient free throw teams and a NO team that likes to twist the knife.
last game vs Bobcats in the fourth up by 13 the score was 22-28. Essentially I think the Suns play more aggressively on the road and I am looking at Hornets as a over team.

Nothing final but looking at Kings first quarter and game.
Last season playing at home as a listed fav last 10 7-2-1 SU first quarter. This season Atlanta away minus 5 first quarter at Dallas and minus 11 at Lakers first quarter. Last season laying points vs them first quarter was a mixed bag but playing ml first quarter worked pretty well and Sac better rested and playing with revenge. This bet would likely be small.

Bosh didn't make the trip. Cousins got benched the whole 4th quarter @ GS. Playing at home should do wonders for Sac, first quarter looks nice. I'll play probably Por as well seeing how Houston played today, Lin will have his hands full with Lillard.

Phillips seems the only negative for the over but this group may force me to look at Phoenix

Like the Raptors tonight. Aside from opening night, MIA's defense hasn't been too good. Bosh is out, and Wade is presumably banged up, as he will be all year.

The spot sucks for MIA. They have to fly from Miami to Canada, and then back to Miami for a potential NBA finals preview with the Clippers. I see no reason for MIA to get up for tonight's game.

MIA loses outright.

Possible interest in Dallas. Lakers have had two ATS covers in a row which is usually death.
No play on Suns. Seems like a weak situational play with them coming off a quality ATS cover vs OKC

Locked on the Pelicans -9. Dragic is a big loss to a team that is playing way over their capabilities. I see a very good Pelicans backcourt trashing the sh*t out of the Suns. 14-15 point win here. Also liking the Knicks after that loss against the Wolves.

From the AP preview

The Pelicans clamped down defensively after dropping their first two games, limiting the Bobcats to 37.5 percent shooting.
"We wanted to show that when we play good defense, we're a tough team to beat," Davis said. "We knew we had to come in and get this win. It wasn't even about Charlotte tonight, it was more about us. We had to get back to playing Pelican basketball."[/TD]

May get off this total. Had gone to 2 blogs and not heard about this.

Dragic is a big loss. Playing way over their capabilities---. For last 4 or 5 years Suns front office in combination with miserable coaching had stuck this team with PROJECTS. The complicated idea of signing players that fit together and could play was never done. Till this year. Now you have a quality coach and players that fit so I am not clear as to their limits.
This spot though after blowing what seemed a very real chance of winning in OKC is not good especially with the Spurs game the next day and Dragic out. Still thinking.

We'll I think Atlanta is terrible and Sac at least has a couple good pieces. Thought Sac would be a few points higher.

absolutely astonishing

James Dolan flips out on 1-2 Knicks, even cracks down on the dancers

The Knicks owner left his seat after the first quarter of Sunday's game to find GM Steve Mills and vent. One source even says he was so angry he wanted the Knicks City Dancers to stop dancing.

Knicks owner James Dolan is appalled at the team's performance through the first three games.

We know of at least one person taking James Dolan seriously when the boss says he expects the Knicks to win the NBA championship this year.
That person? Well of course, James Dolan.
The media-shy chairman of Madison Square Garden was conspicuously missing from his baseline seat during most of the second quarter of Sunday’s lethargic loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. And for good reason.
According to several sources, Dolan was ready to erupt after the Knicks surrendered 40 first-quarter points and as the deficit ballooned to 23 Dolan went hunting for Steve Mills, the team’s new president and general manager.
That Mills isn’t responsible for either the roster or the coaching staff didn’t matter. With Dolan the facts rarely matter. The boss needed to vent and found Mills in a suite.
That’s one of the perks of being the boss. You get to assign blame to whomever you choose. So on this night, it was left to Mills to talk Dolan down from the MSG Chase Bridge.
On the one hand, I applaud Dolan for being appalled. It’s nice to know someone in a position of power found the Knicks’ performance unacceptable.
Dolan could have easily just sat there on Sunday yukking it up with the actress seated to his left, “Saturday Night Live” alum Kristen Wiig. (In the final preseason game, Dolan’s guest was actress Olivia Munn. That’s another perk of being the boss.) Dolan, though, wants results and he wants them now.

Dolan apparently ordered the Knicks City Dancer's roles to be reduced to tossing T-shirts into the stands on Sunday.

“There’s no need to panic,” Carmelo Anthony said on Monday. “It’s three games into the season. We’re still trying to figure a lot of things out.”

That’s easy for Melo to say. He’s one of Dolan’s guys and he has the contract to prove it. Dolan hasn’t and may never call his franchise player on the carpet.
Mills is another story. He knows Dolan means business — as does Mike Woodson, who in early October was in the room when Dolan delivered his win-now edict to the head coach and his staff.
Being the Knicks coach under Dolan has never been a walk in the park, but it’s especially difficult now with Dolan expecting a championship. Perhaps the only group that has it worse than Woodson’s staff is — and I can’t believe I’m typing this — the Knicks City Dancers.
Dolan has become such a hands-on owner — figuratively speaking — that, according to a source, he doesn’t want the dancers dancing. Crazy, right? The same guy who wanted creative input on the dancers’ outfits (and he’s good at it) apparently ordered that the girls’ roles be reduced to mostly throwing T-shirts into the crowd. They performed maybe one routine on Sunday.
Why? No one seems to know, except the standard answer is usually “that’s Dolan.”
And this is where I draw the line. Be upset all you want at the players for underperforming. But the dancers?
The KCD’s have been the model of fitness, enthusiasm and execution for two decades. The Knicks? They’ve had one good season out of the last 13.

Smh at isola for even writing this non story. Who cares? Print media is dying fast. Nbafan? What does this have to do with the game tonight? The dancers give the Knicks an edge? Lmao come on man let's cap the games.

Why are nets fav by 10 and they always struggle vs Utah?

Bobcats playing at Knicks when they have a home game the next day seems a bad spot

i wasnt referring to the dancers, mokey.

you would skip over the important stuff to the scantily clad photo

OK nbafan cap the game for me. What purpose does the article serve? And answer my Nets question

Nothing isola writes is important. He trolls the fan base and hates Dolan because he doesn't give him access and isn't as friendly as his dad

lol ok... i have no opinions on tonights game and i dont think the article has much to say about tonights game... just might be putting more pressure on woodson this season... the knicks need JR back to provide a spark and open things up for carmelo

and idk what you expect the nets line to be... brooklyn's lines are going to be inflated all year long

Bobcats playing at Knicks when they have a home game the next day seems a bad spot

My thoughs exactly. None of those teams care much about defending, and if you don't defend vs Melo, a team like the Bobcats may get routed. I can see a blowout win here. I'm pretty much expecting the Bobcats to give up if they're by down +10 at 3rd.

I just think it's a bad spot for them, plus Dragic out for some time may get them thinking about their options, next years draft is pretty much the Suns best option to turn the franchise around. As for todays game, i just think the Pelicans will lock it down defensively again and Holiday will have a lot of liberty to do what he does best.

Lots of love for New Orleans out there...glad I locked this baby in at -8.5 (-108) last night (pinny).

Phoenix is going to have to shoot the 3 ball well tonight if they want to cover....

I know it's misleading given the fact that IND's been better than DET the past few seasons, but for those interested...

Ben Taylor (IND 1-0 SU, DET 1-2 SU), Josh Tiven (IND 8-2 SU, DET 3-7 SU), Ron Garretson (IND 9-1 SU, DET 2-8 SU)

Can you be more specific with the timeline on that stat, tuck? I can look it up and will but I'm on the road at the moment.

ben taylor is keeping me off detroit full game.. he tends to favor the road team a lot in the 4th quarter

might be on detroit 1h

Having a ridiculously bad start to the season so far but nevertheless, I'm looking into Portland, Knicks and possibly the Kings tonight.

Placed a small bet on the Nets -10. Jazz rebounding skills have kept them in games, but they are going against a really strong rebounding team today. They have a really weak offense, so i'm thinking the Nets stomp them today.

[h=2]JAZZ AT NETS, 7:30 P.M. ET[/h] November 5, 2013 · 6:39PM

  • Derrick Favors and Enes Kanter, the two prized draft picks that the Nets traded to the Jazz in the trade that brought back Deron Williams, are averaging over 30 points and 20 rebounds combined through the season’s first three games.
  • Williams hasn’t yet been the winning side of Jazz-Nets game since he was traded to the Nets. He is 0-3 against the Jazz as a member of the Nets and was on the losing end of a Jazz-Nets game in Newark a month before getting dealt. The Jazz are 0-3 heading into Tuesday’s game in which Williams may not be a decisive factor. Before the game, Nets Coach Jason Kidd spoke about the importance of Williams’ continued recovery from injury, as it related to managing minutes. “For Deron, this is preseason, training camp,” Kidd said.
  • Ex-Net Richard Jefferson returns to face his former team as the Jazz’s starting small forward. Asked about a scouting report on his former teammate, Kidd joked, “He’s going left.”
  • For the Jazz, Trey Burke (right index finger surgery), Jeremy Evans (right rotator cuff strain), Brandon Rush (left knee rehab) and Marvin Williams (right Achilles rehab) are out.

[h=2]HEAT AT RAPTORS, 7 P.M. ET[/h] November 5, 2013 · 6:33PM
TV: League Pass

  • For the Raptors, guard Dwight Buycks and forward Steve Novak (back) are inactive
  • Heat forward Chris Bosh did not make the trip to Toronto as he was with his wife for the birth of their daughter.
  • LeBron James sees Bosh’s absence as a major setback for the team. “Our biggest challenge is [having] one of our big three out of the lineup,” James said. “When a guy shooting 60 percent from the three-point line, 80 from the free-throw line and 50 from the field [is out], that’s a huge chunk of our offense and huge chunk of our team gone.”
  • The Raptors start the regular season by facing four opponents that qualified for the 2013 playoffs — Boston, Atlanta, Milwaukee and Miami. In the first 10 games, the Raptors face eight playoff teams from last year. Toronto also played five of its seven preseason games against playoff teams.
  • Miami is 0-2 on the road this season

[h=2]PACERS AT PISTONS, 7:30 P.M. ET[/h] November 5, 2013 · 6:33PM
TV: League Pass

  • Indiana will be without starting point guard George Hill as it begins a stretch of four games in five nights. Hill is out for the second straight game with a sore left hip. “He’s close,” coach Frank Vogel said. “We thought he’d be available today. He was still a little bit limited when he was moving in the shootaround. He’s literally day-to-day, he could play tomorrow (against Chicago).”
  • With Hill out, C.J. Watson will start and Donald Sloan will back him up.
  • The Pacers are the last remaining unbeaten team in the young season and Vogel doesn’t mind that distinction. “We want to be the best in the league, so we’re the best in the league early,” he said. “Three games is too early to tell but we want to be 82-0. We want to keep winning every night. Our whole goal this season is not just to be the last undefeated but to compete for the No. 1 seed. We’re off to a good start with that and this is our biggest challenge so far.”
  • Point guard Brandon Jennings will get his first start as a Piston. Jennings came off the bench in his Detroit debut against Boston on Sunday after missing two games with a jaw injury.
  • Chauncey Billups will remain as the starting off-guard for Detroit with Rodney Stuckey and Will Bynum coming off the bench in the backcourt. “Chauncey brings a couple things,” coach Mo Cheeks said. “He’s a veteran, he’s been out there awhile and he brings three-point shooting as well. It wasn’t really that big of a debate. After seeing Rodney the last couple of games, the way he’s come off the bench and provided that spark offensively and defensively, I like where he’s at right now.”

[h=2]BOBCATS AT KNICKS, 7:30 P.M. ET[/h] November 5, 2013 · 5:57PM
TV: League Pass

  • For the Bobcats, center Al Jefferson (ankle) and center Brendan Haywood (left foot) are inactive.
  • The Knicks will go with the “big lineup” of Raymond Felton, Iman Shumpert, Carmelo Anthony, Andrea Bargnani and Tyson Chandler.
  • The Knicks will bring Amar’e Stoudemire off the bench after he sat out two of the team’s first three games while resting his surgically repaired knees. Stoudemire is on a 10-minute limit. Kenyon Martin will sit.
  • The Knicks are without J.R. Smith for the first five games of the season while he serves a drug suspension. He is eligible to return Sunday vs. San Antonio. “I’m ready,” Smith said Monday. “Whenever coach calls my name on Sunday, I’ll be ready. I wanted to play Game 1, but unfortunately I had to sit it out. Whenever they need me, I’m ready.” Coach Mike Woodson said Smith “possibly could be, absolutely” in the starting lineup Sunday. Previously, Woodson said Smith would be in an open competition with Iman Shumpert for the two guard spot: “Bottom line, I’m going to have to make a decision and we’re going to have to live with it and hopefully that decision will work,” Woodson said.
  • Woodson said the Knicks will “keep an eye on” Jeremy Tyler, now with their D-League franchise, adding he “possibly could be in a Knicks uniform” going forward. The Knicks waived Tyler before the season began partly because he is out with a foot injury. “He was a good prospect for us this summer in the summer league and that’s why we were high on getting him to vet camp,” Woodson said.
  • New York natives Kemba Walker and James Southerland, and New Jersey native Michael Kidd-Gilchrist return home for Charlotte. “We gotta get back and build a wall with him because he’s pretty good at making basketball plays, plus he can shoot it,” Woodson said of Walker.

Can you be more specific with the timeline on that stat, tuck? I can look it up and will but I'm on the road at the moment.

Toronto first half. Would imagine Miami starts off slow again as they've been doing for a year. Probably a good idea to fade Miami in 1st halves as they know they can come back against anyone

also like couple those big faves today all lining up as blowouts

Brooklyn- off an embarassing loss with plenty of rest after this. DOn't see why starters don't get 34+ minutes. Kidd also looking for his first win. Utah with a very shallow bench, and a winnable game 2m.

charlotte with a winnable home game 2m and without big al still. NY off an embarassing home loss

NOLA fighting for .500. Phx without Dragic, who's one of like 2 legit NBA players they have

also like Detroit 1st H. Indi been sluggish to start games before clamping down in the 2nd H. Detroit with their projected starters in, while Hill is out. Josh smith should give PG some problems with his length

Memo to Dwight Howard,

Instead of making the Rockets sign Hakeem as your personal trainer/coach, take notes from Brook Lopez's game.

I don't have exact numbers from last year but Toronto was also a fast 1H starter and usually could get a lead as underdogs but then would get destroyed in the 2h
