No Illy -2.5, -120; 4 units WIN

No give up in this No Illy squad. Down big last week but coming back only to lose in OT. I don't care what the Kent offense has done the last few weeks, tonight is a serious step down in class for the Huskie defense after facing Ball St and CMU in consecutive weeks.. PLaying for Bowl eligibilty against a team that won for the first time at home last week to a D1 opponent since 2006.

Admittedly, Kent has been playing great on offense of late and they surprised me against Temple. I don't think they can keep it up vs the best defense in the MAC on what could very well be miserable night. Stopping Julian Edelman is the key. If you do that you win.. Think this defense can do that.

Hammering Ball State tommorow in some manner.. Surprised at all the love around here on CMU---with that defense, no way.

GL all.. Feel a run coming:cheers:

CMU defense is why I don't like the Chips tomorrow. Plus, I made the line Ball St -10.5 so I'm getting a bargain if my line is somewhat accurate :)

GL on NIU tonight. I will likely join. I like what you said about NIU defense facing Ball St then CMU so Kent will be a step down. It's similar to MLB when hitters seeing two good pitchers in a series then some meatballer that rounds out a team's rotation.

Tee, I hate weeknight games.

That being said, I have a small action play on NIU as well and am getting close on Ball too.

gl brah.

I'm not playing this game, I refuse to risk money on a team I've bashed for 2 straight weeks who is also 1-4 on the road and laying points to a team with a better offense. There has to be some concern in your mind about this team heading into this game on the road though, right? Coming off big games with BSU and CMU, both losses. Fighting back against CMU and losing in OT. Not the least bit of a let down for these folks? I know bowl eligibility is still something to play for but it makes me a little uneasy going from 2 big games now to this one on the road. I don't have Kent because I don't exactly trust them either..GL on the game 2night, I am however on Ball St tomorrow, no questions asked.

also not totally confident they can stop Edelman after watching LeFevour successfully run on them

I agree it's a good spot to take NIU tonight, but I'm not completely sold on them being on the road. The only road win they have this year is against Eastern Mich, which everyone bashes on. The main factor that concerns me is their slow 1H starts. My projections tell me that NIU will be down the half for their shaky starts and they pick it up in the 2nd H. I'll probably have a little play on NIU if that's the case at the half.

GL tonight Tee

Don't think there will be a letdown bro but understand the concern.. No Illy was a team that only won a couple last year, was picked to finish last in their division so they are still motivated to get their number one objective--reach bowl game and it is well within reach if they get this one..This isn't UMiami playing out a .500 season and going through the motions kind of deal.. They are right were they wanted to be. This is the best defense Kent has faced and I don't see them putting up the numbers tonight IMO.. Matchups favor NoIlly defense... Having said that I thought Temple would slow down Kent last week and they didn't ..Capped that game hard and missed it for sure.. Now I got an even better defense.. Take my chances again..GL this week bro.. Thanks for stopping in..

Like swinging a weighted bat with Ball State and then CMU... Take the weight off and take a swing now against a team that has one win against D1 opponents at home since 2006.. With a bowl game on the line:smiley_acbe:

totally off topic but I'd like to hear your reasoning behind buying -3 line to -2.5 and paying -120.

Curious to hear if you think that you will save a push that many times to make up -120 if you lose? I mean I understand buying from -3.5 to -3 to save a loss, but a push? I don't think the math is there for that buy but I could be wrong. Not lecturing just seriously wondering.

I am a MAC junkie and its when they play.. What's a brother going to do?..:7_17_4:

I will likely be on Ball State multiple ways.. Definately teasing them down to a pick and finding a couple partners, Iowa is one for sure... Just hate the -7 but there is a chance CMU gets absolutley rolled in this one.. Love Dan L. but he has no defense and Ball State scores a minimum of 35 I think.. Can't keep up even if you are Dan Lafluer and if he starts to press (knowing his defense sucks) then it could get really bad.. CMU is a prototypical bully.. Bully the bad teams and try to hide your weakness against good teams.. Ball St is a very good team. Imagine what they would be had they not lost that receiver, Love, I think.. Wasn't sold on Ball St for several weeks.. Am now... GL.

Same math buying a loser to push as a push to winner...You are overthinking it.. Both are player choice decisions.. I don't do it often but gives me another win option in a weather game that could see a low score.

Both are bad ideas;)

Whats the old saying-- if the casino offers it, don't take it..

We'll have to discuss this further later. :)

Good "talkin shop" discussion.:shake:

I could actually make a mathmatical argument that buying 3 to 2.5 is a better idea than buying a 3.5 to a 3 and that doesn't even take into consideration that the 3.5 to a 3 often costs more than 120..

Reason they are both bad ideas is because rarely do either come into play so if you win , you win, if you lose you lose 20% vig.. probably more than 90% of the time.. The hook is the oldest Casino vig increaser in the business but chumps like me continue to buy it...

I know it costs me money every year but I have come to grips with it.. CarBlue buys points off very strange numbers in CBB sometimes but again it works for him.. In the end I think that is what is important..:shake:

I love talking about shit like this but again probably better off in other thread..

nailed that fucker.. Kent State saw a little different defense than they have seen the last few weeks..

this guy:hammer:likes to fuck this girl:smiley_acac:

I'm going to have to read your thoughts, Mags, because Wake was one of the first bets I locked in.

tee  I'm on Ball St in both football and basketball tonight.

What is this sport you mention--basketball?

tee*dub:spank:Basketball gambling gods

I will get it right eventually over there but waiting a bit. I believe the drinking has affected the part of my brain that previously held decades of CBB gambling knowledge.. My doctor hasn't been able to pinpoint it:popcorn:

I wish the drinking would allow me to forget the bad beats I am trying to overcome in this early season. Miami Oh/UCLA over lost by 1pt, Georgia St losing in OT after a 3 at the buzzer, UMass +5 up by 13 at half then outscored 20 in 2H, and Davidson +3.5 last night (82-78 final).
