Trade incident that occured

D-Woww

Old Man Dan
So im in one league thats real random. A few random buddies and a ton of ppl I don't know. So its not like tight college friends or anything. My team is very middle of the pack because of poor WR play.

Last week, I decided I wanted to make a move for a WR, so i submit a bunch of trade offers to people. Remember, these arent friends, so its not like i can text them about trades first the way i like to do before submitting them online.

One of the deals I proposed would have landed me Brandon Marshall. I heard nothing all week last week, so I assumed that all trades were rejected.

So this afternoon I get an email saying that my trade for Marshall was accepted. That son of a bitch left the trade in limbo, and now that Cutler is hurt and Marshalls value is significantly lessened, he accepted it.

I called him out immediately and contacted the commissioner right away. I say that since the idea behind the trade was clearly to get Brandon Marshall who had Cutler throwing to him, it should be voided. This was a real bush league move and this kid is lucky I don't know him.

The commissioner says that it was my job to remove the trade. I think that is pretty much BS, I don't have time to be rushing to computers. This was a clear case of the guy trying to pull a scumbag move, or he would ahve accepted it when i proposed it.

Who do you side with? Is he right to not void it? I think shit like that ruins the integrity of the game and am considering tanking any game against a team that could rival him for a playoff spot.

It's absolutely on you....beyond that you had to two days to remove it since the injury....u don't need to rush to a comp, you are exaggerating...there's apps for every league to do in instantly and easily....I think it's a little douchey of him, no doubt, but the trade should stand no doubt

I mean yeah it's sort of a bush move, but moreso your fault for not monitoring it and leaving all those trades pending IMO.

I mean you had to know at any time those trades could have been accepted, especially after the week was over.

An no voting period or what?

Weak on his part but I think it's on you to cancel any pending trades before the week begins .

not sure Marshall's value takes as much of a hit though as most of the top 10 WRs if their QB got hurt

Bernard, blackmon, fred jackson for marshall & pierre thomas. Only blackmon was starting for me

fucker woulda never been invited back in our league

douche move, you should track him down

it's a douche move on his part, but if you see a trade linger for more then 3-4 days I would cancel it knowing the other owner isn't serious. And I'd never let a trade linger into a sunday during games when who knows what can happen.

being called an idiot by fondy? damn, thats a new low.

You guys are insane. First off, I have the yahoo app on my phone. Have you ever tried to get past the sign in screen on an iphone? Ive tried like 11 times this year and the app has crashed every time. Its garbage.

Second, i found out the cutler injury was serious, and not just a day to day thing, on Monday morning. I worked 10 hours at my office where fantasy is blocked, went to my softball game, and came home. Tuesday morning I got up, went to work, and then received an email that the trade was accepted.

Its complete bullshit. It is the intent that should matter. I clearly intended to trade for Marshall with a healthy Cutler. There is a code of ethics that should be displayed in fantasy sports, and this is a clear violation of it. the commissioner of the 3 other leagues ive been in have all said if it happened in that league, it would be reversed, and the kid who tried to pull it woudlnt be asked back

So, other guy and rest of leagues fault cause you were busy.

Trying to see your side here man, but just can't

And I wouldn't bank on a "Code of Ethics" in fantasy football FWIW.

yes but as commissioner, it should be evident when the trade was proposed that the Cutler injury was not known. I dont know the people in this league, I have no way of texting trade offers. I just sent a bunch out trying to get a WR. I havent been on the site since Thursday. Sorry, some people have lives to lead beyond fantasy sports

So, other guy and rest of leagues fault cause you were busy.

Trying to see your side here man, but just can't.

heres my side:

my trade was CLEARLY intended to be a trade for Marshall with a healthy Cutler. Once Cutler got hurt, it is very evident that the intention of my offer was no longer a valid one.

yeah fortunately not only do we not have any tools like that in my league, I don't associate with the like

bottom feeders, all of them

I'd reassess the people you hang out with

i honestly am on the other side as you Steed, as I cant for the life of me understand the other side even 1%.

kj i dont hang out with this kid. its a league that i know osme ppl but others i have never met. he is very lucky i dont know him.

and i'm serious anyone that would try to accept the trade at that point would probably not get invited to the next golf outing. dead serious.

all im saying is this commissioner better not have a problem when the team this kid is playing gets Matt Forte from me in exchange for the Raiders defense

i think you should come down hard on your team for performance and just bench them all, like a 1 week suspension

make em figure out what's really important before the season is lost

how do you know he saw the trade before the deal

what if he set his lineup tuesday and didn't check his thing again until sunday or monday, you yourself said you didn't know if it was declined because you didn't see your yahoo

still he shouldn't accept it, any imbecile would be booted out of our league/clique/family for accepting that

come on you greasy fuckers, just oozing of slime in this thread

i mean if he goes in tuesday to look at his team and he sees that trade still up there he has to assume it's still live since you hadn't revoked it within 36 hours after the injury.

It's absolutely on you....beyond that you had to two days to remove it since the injury....u don't need to rush to a comp, you are exaggerating...there's apps for every league to do in instantly and easily....I think it's a little douchey of him, no doubt, but the trade should stand no doubt

Agree completely...couldn't have said it any better.

Dan, you are being disingenuous to say the least....I have four teams that I manage from the yahoo app from an iphone 4s...the upgrades on the app this year were awesome, and is has no issues at all...last year it would occasionally crash and wasnt as user friendly, but was still usable..this year the app is very, very good...

Secondly, you stated on here you went to the Philly game and left and was home to watch the second half by the middle of the third quarter...there's no way you didn't see Cutler was hurt...your first move should have been at that point go that league and withdrawal the trade..maybe you had some beers or whatever at the game and pregamed and wasn't remembering that marshall was one of the guys you sent shotgun offers out for? Either way its 100% on you...YOU OFFERED THE TRADE...it's as simple as that....

Hypothetical for you...Say he accepted this offer on Saturday and the trade was still in the 48 hr review window when he got hurt on Sunday...what were you stance be on that? You are crying intent, and the intent would be the same as this scenario. Do you feel it should be overturned in that scenario as well?

If he clicked accept saturday or even sunday morning id be 100% shit outta luck. Doesnt matter, its not getting voided. Leggo McCown

It's on you to remove the offer. I am in 3 fantasy leagues and fairly busy otherwise so sometimes I do not respond to trade offers right away, especially in the league where I only know 3 out of 10 people. You can't prove that he purposely let the offer hang. He might have just been busy.

You need Yanks to be commish of your league... if an injury occurs during the trade pending period the trade is rejected...
