Report: Phils want Bogaerts from BOS for Lee

Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe writes that "every indication" says the Phillies won't settle for anything less than prospect infielder Xander Bogaerts as the center piece in a trade with the Red Sox involving Cliff Lee.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Red Sox are "the biggest player" for Lee at the moment, but there's nothing to indicate that they are willing to part with Bogaerts or even Jackie Bradley, Jr. Unless someone budges by Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET, it appears the southpaw might stay pat in Philly.

Cody Asche called up for the Phils, Michael Young gonna be moved? rumor is he wont approve any deal except back to the Rangers

Gordon Edes of ESPN Boston reports that the Diamondbacks have emerged as the front runner to acquire Jake Peavy from the White Sox.

Diamondbacks general manager Kevin Towers traded Peavy to the White Sox four years ago when he was at the helm in San Diego, but he's now looking for a reunion in Arizona. It's not known what the Diamondbacks are willing to offer, but the White Sox have set the bar pretty high in trade discussions. The 32-year-old right-hander is under contract for $14.5 million in 2014.

The Cubs are getting solid interest on Nate Schierholtz, one of the few good hitters on the market. More than likely he gets traded.

OK, the big dominos are falling now. Marc Rzepczynski to the Tribe.

Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports that the Diamondbacks, Orioles and Pirates are three of the teams in on Bud Norris.

Norris' scheduled start Tuesday was pushed back to Wednesday, but the odds are good his next outing will come in another uniform. The Astros happen to be playing in Baltimore right now, so it's possible Norris might just have to switch dugouts. The righty is earning $3 million this season and is under team control through 2015.

uhhh....... what? seems steep, but the cards always seem to know what theyre doing.

ESPN's Jim Bowden reports that the Angels and Cardinals have discussed a deal that would send Erick Aybar to St. Louis for either Carlos Martinez or Michael Wacha plus Pete Kozma.

Bowden notes, not surprisingly, that the Cards are reluctant to meet the asking price. There's always the possibility that the two sides could close the gap before Wednesday's deadline, as it appears St. Louis is anxious to upgrade at shortstop. Aybar is making $8.5 million this season and owed the same amount each year through 2016.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Red Sox have reached a deal to acquire Jake Peavy from the White Sox.

WEEI's Alex Speier and Rob Bradford report that it will be a three-way deal that sends Jose Iglesias to the Tigers. Avisail Garcia will also likely be sent to the White Sox, but there are others involved. The two teams are reviewing medical records and it appears that's all that standing in the way of the trade being finalized. Peavy has posted a 4.28 ERA and 76/17 K/BB ratio over 80 innings this season for Chicago.

Corey Brock of MLB.com reports that the Padres have acquired right-hander Ian Kennedy from the Diamondbacks.

The Diamondbacks will receive left-handed reliever Joe Thatcher, prospect right-hander Matt Stites a compensation round B draft pick. Both teams get what they want here, as the Diamondbacks have been in the market for relief help and the Padres have been searching for an impact starting pitcher. From a fantasy perspective, Kennedy gets an immediate boost with the change in ballparks.

Orioles had to do something to address their SP issues. Its nice to see them trying to build off last year's momentum and be competitive again signing K-Rod and Norris.

Yeah, Baltimore is dying for SP. He probably wouldn't have made sense for the Bucs. I'm rooting for your boys to keep this run going. Pit a fun team to watch this year.

We'll give you back McClouth for AJ.....
