Best Bets for No. 1 Pick in the 2025 NFL Draft

Cam Ward is heavily favored to be selected at number one, Travis Hunter at number two, and Abdul Carter at number three.

I will recommend the following plus-money route for great profit: Abdul Carter at number one and Cam Ward at number two.

The two draft picks are interconnected — if the first bet hits, then the second one is sure to as well. Because of this connection and because of the odds, investing a full unit in each bet logically feels like overkill. So I recommend splitting a full unit on each wager.

Disappointing Quarterback Class

Tennessee has the number one overall pick and is lacking quality at the quarterback position.

Historically, it is common for the team with the number one overall draft pick to select a quarterback.

The Titans do reportedly like quarterback Cam Ward. They won't opt for pocket passer Shedeur Sanders, whose private workout with them they decided to cancel.

However, oddsmakers are wrong to favor Ward — especially so heavily — to be this year's first draft selection.

The quarterback draft class this year is lacking quality, and it certainly will lack quality compared to next year's NFL Draft. This year feels more like 2022 when defensive end Travon Walker was selected first overall.

Ward is not worthy of going first overall. For sure, he is a quarterback who has put together some impressive highlights, but he played in a weak ACC conference and did not demonstrate much success against stronger opponents. As such, his film is unconvincing because lots of lesser quarterbacks can look great against ACC opponents.

The Will Levis Question

Of course, what I and NFL analysts think matters less than what the Titans themselves think.

While they do like Ward, it is crucial to observe that they still like Will Levis.

They did invest a second-round draft pick in him, moving up to select him.

While he has struggled, he's also lacked quality around him. He's also dealt with significant injuries that hindered his ability to play well.

The key is that he has shown flashes of strong play such as when, during a stretch late last season, he accumulated seven touchdowns and two interceptions against the Chargers, Vikings, Texans, and Commanders.

Those four squads were all playoff teams. Washington, Houston, and Los Angeles ranked fifth, sixth, and seventh, respectively, in pass defense, and Minnesota's complex scheme gave opposing quarterbacks a lot of trouble.

Levis is still on Tennessee's roster and reportedly is someone who the Titans are not ready to give up on. After all, two years is not a long time.

It just doesn't make sense to me to select a quarterback at number one, which is a multi-year investment. Ward , also given his frantic style of play, is a risky pick who could easily end up like another Jameis Winston.

The Titans have plenty of other needs that they could serve by drafting someone else.

My Prediction

I am wagering on Abdul Carter to go number one to Tennessee.

Carter is an elite edge rusher who has been compared to game-changer Micah Parsons.

Tennessee would benefit from having an elite edge rusher. The Titans' pass rush needs significant help, as evident in the fact that they ranked 23rd in sack rate last year.

+1800 is incredible for someone of Carter's caliber who is competing with a subpar class of quarterbacks. While a lot of so-called experts are contending that Ward will go first overall, those media talking heads are so often wrong. Tennessee's head coach did specify that selecting Carter is a possibility for them. Tennessee should and will select Carter at first overall.

Best Bet: Abdul Carter Number 1 Overall Pick at +1800 with Bet365

So What Happens At Number Two?

With Carter gone, Cleveland obviously cannot draft him.

The Browns do need a quarterback, and they arguably need one more badly than Tennessee does.

Deshaun Watson is clearly washed-up. He is unplayable. His backup is currently 40-year-old Joe Flacco, who himself doesn't have much of a future.

Cleveland's low-ranked offensive line posed major problems to the team's offensive potential last season, so Shedeur Sanders, because he is a classic pocket passer, would be a bad option.

The Browns need a quarterback who can elude pressure and make difficult plays. Ward has the potential to be that guy.

Cleveland does recognize his upside. The Browns like him, having had him work out privately for him.

The Best Option

It makes the most sense for them to select Ward at number two.

While Travis Hunter is a highly regarded prospect, the Browns do not have nearly the same level of need for a cornerback or wide receiver. Jerry Jeudy turned out to be a revelation for them last year, as evident alone in his massive performance against Denver's secondary. The Browns have a strong cornerback group led by Pro Bowler Denzel Ward.

Hunter is not a reasonable option for them. With Carter selected, only one candidate makes solid sense for them.

Best Bet: Cameron Ward Number 2 Overall Pick at +5000 with Bet365

I don’t know why but I have the exact same thoughts about this bet!!! It's low risk high reward!
Abdul Carter is a beast and seems to be the safe pick. This QB class is weak as hell and if I’m the Titans, I give lil Willy another year.

This is what I got for 1 unit each
Carter at 1 +2000
Ward at 2 +4500

Just curious why you guys think Tennessee wouldn't trade out of the first pick as valuable as that commodity is these days. They can easily draft defense at #3 if they want and get a haul

Before I answer this, can I get your opinion on Abdul? If he‘s another Micah Parsons, then he’s worth the top pick imo

I'm the wrong person to ask about defense. I come from a completely different angle. The number one overall pick needs to sell tickets, period. I guess you can say that team needs a stud on defense to win which is fine, but that can't be the first overall pick. The equity of that position is incredible. You can draft Carter at 3 and do good business. It's tough to have this conversation with X and O types because for me it makes zero sense to draft him first.

I see zero reasoning for the titans to draft Carter at 1 for all the reasons you mention. #1 trade back then , draft a QB on day 2 or 3 , this class looks weak AF imo ... #2 fine if you want to draft Ward #1 do it , create some buzz , sell tickets and jerseys, while getting the talking heads to ramble ad nauseum about his possible high ceiling ..

#3 and most importantly Abdul Carter is currently mending a stress reaction in his right foot. Initial tests at the NFL Combine revealed the injury, leading to discussions about surgery, but Carter will not undergo surgery..
The stress reaction injury is a stress fracture that has not progressed to a full fracture.
Carter also did not participate in Penn State's Pro Day. He chose to skip the pro day workout due to a different injury in his shoulder he sustained in the Fiesta Bowl. While he was present at Pro Day, he focused on meeting with the media and did not participate in the drills and testing.

Sure the +1800 or whatever looks tasty but id want +7500.....if I was a Titans fan I'd be pissed if they took Carter and stuck with Will Levis. Dude looked like a horrified 8th grader starting at Varsity QB last season. Massive regression on the eye test ....Carter is going to be stuck on that field feeling like a man chasing his wife all over the mall on a 17 week shopping spree...Dude sounds like he's already battling injuries , wouldn't be surprised if he was shut down mid season while the team is tanking for another top 5 pick

Me personally I'd trade back , and take a QB somewhere later on day 2 or 3 ...I'm no scout but weird feeling someone is going to get a possible future starter in one of the longshots McCord,Howard, Leonard without any real risk in rounds 5-7...The top of this class is sketchy at best

Someone will likely trade up and try to make Cam Ward their future. The big question for me is who that is.

Maybe the Aints ...They look absolutely screwed on paper with their highly questionable off season signings. Poor Carr might need to injury his own shoulder worse and retire for a year to get out of there ...Dude flat out tried to murder Olave with his slow duck balls.....No one without a bag over their heads is sitting in the stands to watch Haener or that other Jag off. .

There simply is no bigger asset in the world of sport than the #1 overalll pick in the NFL draft. If it gets used on Abdul Carter, you've shown that you don't have a clue how the business works. Let's just say he's the guy Tennessee values the most....they can easily get a couple 2nd rounders and still get him.

City kinda rocks with Rattler.

So Jacksonville messed up taking Travon Walker first overall

My dad and I get together and laugh our asses off while drinking IPA's at the streaming reruns...
I'm about as mellow as it gets but last night was borderline awful. I do me but it involved things beyond my control. On to the next I guess.

Drama ain't my jam but it happened last night so I need a high five!

Phew, I read this first and was expecting some criticism of my Jags lol

It's not my absolute favorite sitcom but I think it's a great sitcom and imo it's the funniest one. Tim's silly antics are great and the way the show blends them into what's happening otherwise in his life and with the other characters is amazing. Like when Tim puts too much buffer or whatever on the floor and Randy's date slips and sprains her ankle :D great stuff

🤣🤣🤣

Actually like your boys this season. Do you think they're capable winning the division?
Wow actually? Like how much do you like them exactly? I think the offense has real potential if the o-line improves. I was thinking the D would improve a lot under Nielsen but turned out to be wrong.

Perhaps as bad as anything else, there's a cultural issue. The team is so soft.

A lot needs to get better. I don't get how they compete with Houston. Last place is a serious possibility.

What do you see that I don't?

yeah same brother , not my favorite sitcom . But it's right up there with some of the funniest ones ...

Made the mistake of saying I'd kill him last night. That apparently isn't something you should do.

Alert the authorities and document everything ..Get a restraining order when possible ...Sounds like a softer thing to do for us old school guys but it's really the safest, best course of action for all involved .

She got an order of protection yesterday so it's crazy

I'm not violent but after last night it's on and I will win

Threatening death is not smart. Don't do that.
You‘re an emotional guy. I think it’s a strength for you and is part of what makes you a great dude. But i think sometimes you more than most people need to be reminded to breathe deep and count to ten before acting

Oh he's stalking her. Like showing up at her apartment stalking. This doesn't involve emotion at this point....she's had to go to court about it.

Off the top of my head

Pluses

Coen could be a massive upgrade

solid signings on the interior o line with Mekari and Hainsey ..

Signed 3 OT

Don't laugh , Dynami Brown was one of the WR'S on my Bills wish list

Upgrade at S and slot corner ..

Got rid of Kirk

Negatives

Stuck with the Magician Gabe Davis ..No one WR can disappear for 5+;games at a time like him ... Extremely limited route tree

Evan Engram gone , but for long stretches TE didn't matter in TBay ...Think the two added tight ends are much better run blockers ..Strange might flourish

You don’t like Kirk? I thought Trevor loved him

Let that a hole f around and violate ...The charges in most states quickly rise from misdemeanor to multiple felonies. Even for walking anywhere within eye shot . ...

In NY you usually go to jail and then upstate Rapeyville
Avoid jail and the offender on probation is often forced to take time consuming Domestic Violence classes every other week for a couple years ..While paying hefty monthly fines

All of that is far worse than an ass kicking imo ...Although you might be Big John Studd or something
