time to post my week 8 card so far

Hey retro vk I’m a big fan of your post each week and thank u for posting. I’m new to capping the game and was wondering if u would give me some hints to start capping some games and how should I start? If u don’t have the time I appreciate it anyway

Homecoming for UNLV, but Rogers is out. He adds so much to their rushing attack. Rebs couldn’t even stop a runny nose. Not sure how much motivation there is around this team, but I have to think it desperation time. It’s the same old story with Sanchez and the fans are getting tired, I myself as a Rebel alumni would like to see the program improve. Light winds and cooler temps in the forecast. Maybe the over...

Stanford/ASU under 58.5

It has gotten bet way up and I get it from where it started but this has gotten a little bit out of hand. I hemmed and hawed and lost out on the 59's where it met resistance. But taking a stab at the under. This is a smallish investment though. Usually these types of bets... the kind where it moves away from my number into a betting range... are not gonna hit at a normal clip.

thanks

Do you like Vandy even with the looming weather? Also planned on joining you on over in Boise tonight, but looks like I missed the boat there.

California at Oregon State (cal -7)

OK, what you got on Cal?

If I know you even a little then some of your reasoning is going to be that if Cal has any chance to go bowling then they must win this game. What else you thinking?

Well it gets awfully difficult for them if they don't win, doesn't it?

My understanding is their long list of questionable players are really a long list of probably players.
Their defense is by far the best unit on the field. 3.99 yards per carry allowed so far, so I think they can slow down JJ22. I guess one could argue the Oregon State offense is the best unit on the field. Regardless, we know what the worst unit on the field is.
Once I think the defense can stop Oregon State a good percentage of the time, I then have to look at what will happen when Cal's crappy offense has the ball and I have a feeling it is a get well game for them. They matched up well last year .. I think it was their best offensive yardage output and best defensive yardage yielded. They outplayed Arizona pretty badly but worked extra hard to lose. They need this reset and I trust the coach to do that.

I also want Oregon state to win a fbs game somewhere and betting the opponent is the only way that is gonna happen.

If It helps, s--k, I have bet on Oregon state several times this year (all winnable ATS and all losses) so I may be zigging and zagging improperly with those guys.

Absolutely agree on Cal.

And I know your Beaver feelings (yes, I said it..beaver).

As you said, it is a 'get well' kind of game for the Cal offense and their defense will stop the Oregon State offense more than enough.

This was all accurate. Thanks for sharing.

Well, I didn't make it to the game. I had a friend in town over at Ceasar's and didn't get over there either and ended up watching what I could between doing some caregiving.

Greased pig in the fourth quarter really cost AFA. Worst of both worlds as a Las Vegas resident .. UNLV lost and AFA didn't cover. UNLV qb looked pretty decent and team showed some moxie considering they were a dead-red running team prior to the injury.

Got you on Cal.

The Arizona result for Cal is the biggest thing making me hesitant - because that is what it looks like for them when it works, without the turnovers of course.

I only got burned a little in the ASU game, but got burned bad in the WSU game and even though it hurt I saw a bunch I liked out of OSU against a really good opponent. So figured if they can play with more of the "good" vs a struggling opponent it could equal a win. If things hold according to plan Oregon State will start slow, rebound to maybe lead at some point, perhaps have a lead in the 4th and then somehow lose by double digits.

The line compared to other recent oregon state lines is a telling piece of information with regard to the Bears offensive issues. Oregon State has one of the better offensive lines iwest of the Mississippi so if they can produce offensively the way they did against asu or wazzu then they have a good shor of winnning. I bet Cal but not without fear

VK, would you still play Michigan at -7.5? Been waiting for a 7 at the book all week but they’ve kept it 7.5 except for a very brief 10 minutes this morning that I missed.

Doesn't need to be today, but would be curious to hear your thoughts on Sanders if you saw much of the AFA/UNLV game last night. He broke school records so assuming he looked great. Just wanted to get your thoughts on if it was more a product of his skill and decision making or more UNLV was lost? I only saw a few drives so prob not enough to have informed opinion. Thanks and GL today!

Ohio st/ Boilers...Not sure about dimensions of stadium...not far from there and sustained 30mph winds and 60 mph gusts out of NW. Don't see any deep balls thrown and XP will be fun to watch. Trees down and power out all over the place

Easy ULL winner! UTEP has ball down one score with a chance to tie on final possession. Who are these Miners with a 3rd string QB today nearly winning! Good read on Cal, it finally all came together for them like you thought it could.

Thanks all. Caught a ton of breaks today.

ck - I think a product of UNLV. He was about what I expected. Gilliam (sp) was the surprise to me

Ryno- missed a couple of your questions. Sorry about the early one, not usually around after 9am pacific on Saturdays

Happy with the day obviously. I should appear on the good side of SVP bad beats more than once, and maybe appear with the cuse under on the bad side. Probably the best day I have ever had in results and good fortune. Big stuff was mainly just good.

see ya tomorrow.

I missed the game after the first few min...but how badly did DTR getting knocked out hurt UCLA's chances to cover?

The Speight fumble alone might be the difference though the real ptoblem was the defense. Who knows how it plays out but team was playing inspired and then went flat. But the zona rb wasnt gonna get tackled by DTR

Thanks.

I need to figure out how to adjust heading into the Utah game.

Not VK but I saw a bit of the 2Q in that one and all of the 2H. Speight had one careless fumble that set up Arizona for the tying score in the 3Q, but really got into a rhythm later and I thought really moved the offense well. I think the non cover was more on their defense with Arizona gashing them in the run game and Rodriquez making some plays.
