It wasn't so much they wanted nothing to do with him as it was they really, really wanted A-Rod. He was the price they had to pay to acquire the Devil himself.

He was my favorite Yankee ever since he came up, I was so pissed to see him leave (even if it was for A-Rod). Very excited to get him back, although he's pretty much a shell of his former self.
