also likin jackson and the rays. kid has some excellent velocity on his fastball and when his control is there he's hard to hit.

webb RL looks juicy too.

I think bets on the Cardinals tomorrow are very rash. Del La Rosa has always been a good Day pitcher. His disasters are at Night. The Cardinals play at the Brewers Friday. A divisional rival they have issues with. It would be nothing for Tony to rest key players in this game.
 
de la rosa had good day #'s last year, i havent checked the #'s in a while but i feel like it was more of a one year thing than anything else. but yea he is horrific at night for sure.
 
Paul Maholm has won 6 in a row and 8 of 10 at home pitching very well. Have the Giants been going very well. Maybe under or Pirates. What about Florida with a staff ace. Is that not a great number. The way people lose at baseball is by running off cliffs. Right now if I were you people I would take some time to make sure you are saying things that actually make sense.
 
Yankees over may be worth digging into - Yanks off 2 home losses & being shut-out; quick look shows

Byrds last 3 games vs NYY totaled 10, 13 & 10 runs
Mussina's last 3 vs CLE totaled 7, 13 & 10 runs

Ump O/U 1-1 this season, 7-1 last season
 
Foster in Florida isa good under ump but generally terrible for home favorites. May still make the obvious play of Florida.
 
pending the ump i really like that under in pittsburg. Maholm has been lights out at home and cain should be able to tame pitt
 
Crazy day... 6 outs in Oakland with O's keading from starting 6 for 6...then rushed alot of my stuff for 7 and 8 which dint go that well but what really hurt is I had my sizes all fucked up. Got lucky that STL allowed Col to hang around again and this time COL completed the comeback but fucked up a bit there cause I had some -1.5 RL as well more then I really wanted , didnt have enough on the KC and Minny ovres , then couldnt get any breaks in the last couple games had SEA parlayed to the under and Ari ML which lost both and that also cost me the grand salami ...so solid day but was so close to a monster one...only 4 dumb plays NYY-over and TB-iver otherwise satisfied with the rest...

Malholm has been terrific at home for ahile now since late last year like 10-11 starts. Pitt starting to play well and real happy I passed on that game . Molina probably sits and tough to fade Cain so want to see lineups here . Pitt lean...

SD struggling still vs LHP and have to think Jp Jo Reyes has the upper hand here. Ledema pulled from the pen probably means pitch count with Germano likely to relieve .Braves lead the majors in dat avg and OPS 304 and 858...ATL 280 vs LHP 736 OPS while SD is DEAD LAST vs LHP .199 and 614 OPS...only conern backing ATL is winning lately do the rest some players here....

Col vs STL the Rocks havent won two in a row in forever...something is odd about this line as I dont understand how Looper vs Redman is the same as Lohse vs DeLaRosa would think Lohse is worth more and DeLaRosa even less then Redman...

So pissed that Philly won today for so many reasons...I really liked Philly with Myers here .first Webb is a joke IMO...guy has great movement and is Maddux like but he throws meat . Wang is aboit 10,000 better then him...Webb reminds me of Rick Reuschel , hell its been so long I forgot how to spell the originally Big Daddy's name !Anyway I have respect for him but gimme a good lineup in a good groove anyday agaisnt him...only decent lineup he faced and was the Mets and Delgado hit one still looking for clearance to land......which is why if the Backs had won here and were up 2-1 I could have pinded Philly now scared...Myers did throw alot of pitches last outing but he is exactly what I want to see vs Zona's lineup a power RHP...so Philly lean......

Brewers havent been hitting and even vs a LH SP I wouldnt rush to back them althoigh Villanueva has been fairly solid but really doesnt give you more then 6 away which means the poison pen is involved ...

Backe at home always seem worthwhile...plus Houston is top 5 in avg vs LHP....

I havent figured out my Yanks that well and really should be staying away fro them. I just expect each good game to start a consistent streak but it aint happening...no hitter seems to stay warm for more then 3 days...Moose facing Cle for a 2nd time should be interesting but looking at one thing with Moose is he has always done well at the Stadium...Yanks one of the better hitting day teams and avoiding a sweep as well...273 avg only 35 runs in 9 games though but Cle almost last with a 219 avg 587 OPS and 31 runs in 11 games.....

Gabbard off the DL facing the #2 team vs LHP avg wise and King Felix was King FLAT last time out wonder if his pitch count lingers for awhile.....with an 8.5 seems likethey are begging for under money so lik ethe over...Gabbard has been solid and King Felix was sharp until NYY so why 7.5 today with a 2-0 resuklt an 8.5 here?

here is my question to the forum, i am playing atlanta, white sox, and seattle today. are their bats good enough to lay 1.5 with or should i play it conservative and lay just 1?
 
Have played Houston ml and Houston under 9.5. Washington is actually a good team as far as getting off sweeps. Houston is a professional. In these home sweep situations they are 14-3 last 17 and the under in these situations was 4-11-2. Backe being 15-5 last 20 at home with the under 12-7-1 helps as well as does the major rivalry between Florida and Washington. Ump seems to be under and fav oriented.

i'm on houston as well. tuck, drop into my thread and leave your thoughts. it seems that we are on many of the same plays today.
 
When it is available I will play under first 5 in KC. This is Mouse see Mouse do capping, Cabrera has gone under by a mile in his first 4 road games first 5. Got it under 4.5 minus 10 cents at 5d.

As much as I want to play the Brewers today I just dont know if I can back them right now the way their offense is going. Villanueva has some good stuff but most likely wont make it past 6. However I think the bats get going today against Hendrickson. But I think I am going to wait until they do it 2 or 3 days in a row to back them
 
I laid 15 cents and .5 first 5 on Webb vs Myers. Every game this season Webb has lead at the end of 5 innings and in his 3 road games this season Myers has given up 4 or more runs every time.

Pujols entered Wednesday's game as baseball's best at getting on base (a .503 on-base percentage) and with a streak of 34 games reaching base.

This current run of games "gets your attention when you're trying to pace a guy some — not a lot, but some," La Russa said. "I have no problem sitting him in Milwaukee or (possibly today). ... We'll talk. We're going to see how he feels."

Today's afternoon game would be ideal except, La Russa said, "against a lefthanded starter, not my favorite thing to do."

Well have to say that this is the benefit of a discussion thread . Tuck might not have said it politely but he made a good point about the series starting in Milw on Friday and if you read some of the comments by managers in the Central you will hear them say how these teams look forward to playing eachother and the excitement they get from beating eachother. That coupled with what I saw as some nice angles to fade STL in Lohse command off last start as he said clearly the differnce was simply missing locations . So if he was missing locations on Saturday good chance he will be missing them again next time out when he has been so good for so long . If your good streaks are gonna last a bit then your bad one or hiccups have to have to have a little length to them as well. Also he has struggled on the road which we have pointed out before. . Then there was the fact STL just hasnt played good this series despite having minor edges in the SP all series. They won 6-5 in the 9th on Monday , they held off Col by winning 6-5 in which the tieing run was on and TeeDub pointed out Ankiel made 2 spectular plays to cut down runners at 3rd base . All huge in what was 1 game decided by 1 run. Then yesterday they had COL on the ropes all game and allowed them to hang around. Happens in every sport when you let your opponent hang around. They string together a few plays or few hits and in a blink a game which you appeared to be dominanting you lose ..granted I was happy to be on COL yesterday but wasnt the benefit when Joba blew the game vs Cle on Tuesday or when DET lead 6-0 on Sunday after the Top 1st and slowly allowed Minny to creep back in the game and win.....and the icing was the fact the DeLaRosa was favored....so its early still but happy with a 7-1 lead after 4 innings.....

I fucked up this morning over sleeping and had about 20 minutes to figure out shit before I left the house...so I decided not to rush 80 plays like I usually do and tend to piss away money..so didnt play much and honestly wish I had COL heavy and the -1.5 RL but thats life....rolled with NYY ML 2 units , COL ML and Philly ML for 1 each , and .5 unit parlay which I dont think I will get NYY , COL , ATL and Over 9 @ CHIWSox...which sucks cause I like Pitt and passed and even like the WSox ...would be great to hit this but its minor risk...

Seriously Wang is not a legit # 1 ? Thats almost lunacy IMO and granted I am Yankee fan but I wouldnt ask for more then 10 SP in the majors ahead of him. From the standpoint of he hasnt really been able to show consistency on the road in his 1st two full seasons and he needed to realize he needed to add more pitches I will give that comment SOME merit . However I would expect you to take into account that he has battled "minor" injuries just about every season so far while having to pitch inthe AL EAST. Which flies under the radar to most but also skews his stats slightily past few seasons and his stats are pretty good since he was basically throwing one pitch. Which is what makes he so much tougher then Webb and that one pitch was a 95 MPH 2 seamer which is nearly impossible to do and hit hard. Webb throws his 2 seamer 86-89 and maybe a couple MPH higher in the past but not above 91 MPH really. For all the hits Wang allows very few are hard hit balls they ae most ground ball sthat find a hole or bloopers and bleeders that dunk in. I doubt Wang has given up many balls like the one Delgado hit on Sat that still is waiting to land. Just watching Webb vs the mets I was dying to get an atbat vs him myself. Granted his movement is excellent and very Maddux esque but hardly a guy I would fear hitting against.

Remember Wang came out of nowhere in 2005 and suddenly was one of our best SP by the All Star Break but had the rottar cuff issues that shelved him for awhile until almost Sept I believe. With that type of injury when he does come back expectations have to be tempered.

Are what he was at the break in 2005 when he got hurt which I think is rather exceptional for a guy pitching in the best hitting division in baseball as a Rookie. So double those numbers up and thats a damn good ROOKIE campaign IMO....249 BAA , 1.21 WHIP and 3.89 ERA....plus he could have won 12-16 games..

When he did return that Sept it actually didnt take him long to get back in the groove. His 1st 2 starts back he went 11.1 Inn 17 H 8 R 2 bb 5 K and worse had to face the same lineup in both games. His next 3 were 21.2 Inn 17 H 10R 8Er 8 Bb 11 K. Which he then followed up with a solid start @ LAA in the playoffs 6.2 6 H 4 R 1 Er 0bb 1 K.

Did you know that 2008 was the 1st time he came out of Spring Training healthy as a Yankee?? Most dont realize that . So 2006 after the scare with the rotar cuff he left camp behind schedule due to somewhat minor injuries. He suffered a right hand contusion on March 26 after being hit by a batted ball in a spring training game against Detroit, but X-rays were negative. Which pushed back his 1st start to April 5th and game 3 that season. Really though he got off to a slow start then expected and once June started he was lights out and I atrribute that to being 100% healthy by that point. To understand how critical his hand could be Wang squeezes his 2 seamer so tight that his hand cramps up often as he almost had to leave his previous start before the Cle one in the 5th inning due to that.

So take out his April of 2006 and he was great minus a below expectations BAA...

He didnt make his 2007 debut till April 25 th this season.Wang, who went 19-6 with a 3.63 ERA in 2006 and was the runner-up for the AL Cy Young Award, suffered a strained right hamstring late in spring training and was placed on the disabled list to start 2007. So he won 19 games with 2 April starts and I always say fade SP off the DL because it usually takes a few starts to find themselves. So 1st 2 starts 12.1 Inn 15 H 8R 8Er 2Hrs 3 BB 4 K . Which he happened to lose BOTH.

That means he went :

So lets look at this prior to this season he had never started a season healthy and has battled 2 minor injuries and one fairly serious injury in 3 seasons. He is one of the RARE guys who can throw a sinker or 2 seam fastball in the 94-96 MPH range consistently. He came up basically throwing just that 1 pitch saying hit if you can . If we overlook a couple starts here and there that were made when bouncing back from injury his numbers are ...(minus the 1st 2 starts of Sept in 2005 , the month of April in 2006 and the 2 starts in April of 2007)

Webb is 1 year older and basically had 2.5 full seasons in by the time Wang was called up and is 55-30 since the start of 2005......He pitches what has probably been the weakest and worst divsion in baseball and have to love the NL factor facing weaker lineups and pitchers rather then DHs...yet there is very little difference in the numbers...would guess SP account for about 50Ks each year for him think facing a DH is somewhat tougher....must be nice to pitch in pitchers park like LAD and SD as well...Yankee Stadium for a RHP isnt exactly kind but then again the ball can fly at times @ BOP.....in the AL the 3 top SP are Halladay , Beckett and Wang....and Bedard maybe now..Peavy , Oswalt , Zambrano , Johan , CC maybe as well.. .

 
Would actually agree there. Webb would be a good pitcher in the West but not Wang class. How is this making us money? We want Winners :whip:

Damn seeing the outcomes of the early games makes me feel like I missed a huge opportunity today..Col rolls easily , I admit to being an idot ofr taking Philly here when I explained the situation last night wasnt very good trying to take 3 of 4 from Zona and had to do it defeating the Backs ace. Should have played the over instead figuring Myers 121 pitch count last outing and his so-so road starts would lead to runs if Zona won and/or Webb getting hit by Philly. STill looking a the 7 PM starts but that line in Florida makes NO SENSE which is keeping me off of fading them....even with bad lineups do I go over ...Hendrickson 4-0 over at home and Villanueva 2-0 over away these teams have played 5 teams all low scoring 5-0 UNDER and Marlins 4-1 ...

The NL East-leading Marlins (19-14) have won three straight and four of their last five. Although their starting pitching has one of the highest ERAs in the majors (5.22), it's shown signs of improvement recently.

So reading into that stuff above Brewers are focused on getting a WIN and breaking this little streak but I think thats especially important here as they dont want to face STL losers of 6 straight and they could end the road trip on a positive note with a WIN. While they did get wept @ Houston they didnt play poorly it was Gagne who blew a 2 run lead and game they led throughout which they lost eventually 8-6. Milw has gone cold 18 runs last 6games only scoring better then 4 that game in Houston..scoring just twice so far in FLorida in 2 games......Villanueva wasnt as bad as the stats suggest @ Hous either , he led 4-0 after 4 inn allowed 2 runs in the 5th (leadoff double then HR , plus a single) and was REAL shaky to start the 6th (inf single then 3 straight Hrs) and didnt retire anyone ...all 6 runs and 7 hits came in the 5th and 6th innings. His other road start was also shaky and he struggled to start and again the 5th inning presented trouble.....

Only bat MILW is resting is Prince Fiedler with Joe Dillon in his place( Hart is out but they seem fairly interchangeable with Kapler , Cameron and Hart) . I question more the fact he put Dillon 3rd rather say Kapler who was smoking LHP at one point. Looking back Dillon was 10-18 last year vs LHP , 1-4 so far this yr and 2-9 back in 2005. Guess he likes those 07 splits for Dillon . The pen almost likes Villanueva as it allowed 6 runs in 20 innings in relief of him but they did blow 1 lead. Already w.o Willingham , Jacobs gets a rest here vs a RH no less with Helms in his place who is just 4-22 at home with 7 ks and 2 rbi.... flip is Milw just 200 L10 vs LHP and now 194 away vs LHP....but Villanuevas weakness suprisingly has been RHB 386 I think...

Prince was 2-10 2 rbi @ Chi , fairly solid in Houston 5-13 but no Rbi (plus being a 3 and 2 hit game) and 1-8 no rbi here...8-31 only 2 rbi and none since the opening game of the trip. Mayb ehe needs a breather and can get a key atbat in a clutch situation later on.....so maybe not such a bad siwtch

So far what has killed him is leaving the ball off and they are going a LONG way when he does that . He has pitched better at night and not to shabby vs FLA last tim ehe faced them or in his career so far just 10 innings only 2 runs.

Outside of those rough innings @ Houston he seems to bemuch better at NIGHT...then again the past 4 games have ben his night starts and the home games have been goood while the road has been a struggle.....

After starting 5-0 vs LHP they are now 1-3 winning the game Hendrickson started in Milw although not versus him. Last 12 for Milw 3 times 4 runs and 3 times better the 4 with 5 , 6 and 10 otherwise they other half was lower 3runs or less...also scored 1, 0, 4, and 0 vs the recent run of LH SP Moyer , Olsen , Hendricskon and Olsen so he shut them out twice ! Hendrickson start vs SD was his longest at home at 7 inn finally making it past 5.1 in hi s4th try.....it was probably his best because SD doesnt hit LHP , 5.1 and 3 runs vs Pitt and ATL who are both above avg vs LHP and NYM got him for 6 although they used one big inning.....Hendrickson will face 8 RHB here which hit 260 vs him and giving him no so called breathiers facing a LHB also in 2007 they hit 300 vs him from the RH side.....

One thing with Foster is road teams won the last 4 and when the home team won it was by 1 run both times......road team 20-11 last year

Bottomline if Badenhop was even money vs Bush how is Villanaueva favored against Hendrickson??? Really cant see much difference bewteen Bush and Villi but a Rookie vs a 5-1 SP with 3.70 ERA has to be worth at least 30 to 40 cents....

Think I have to play the BREW CREW here this LINE is way off and not being corrected ...FLA should be -120 or -130 favs so I think Hendrickson gets hit tonight and Foster even with his HIGH % wont matter cause it really hasnt in the past in regards to runs scored in his games and strikes called...

yeah I get alittle ahead of myself. I guess being in NY I can say two guys who I feel dont get there due respect are Wang and John Maine . Granted there inconsistencies leave the debate open for discussion but I think people dont realize how good these two are and especially Wang cause he is so vanilla and boring . Well and the fact the world saw him getspanked by CLE in the playoffs..

Not sure how that will help anyone make money otherthen be cautious when fading these two. If Wang opposes a LH SP with our current lineup that might be reason enough .....

Played mostly the Brew Crew...figured if they win they must hit the ball and score runs..so split it up mixed it and mashed it....came up with MILW ML , MILW 1st 5 cause we know about there pen , Over 9.5 which I am not fond of but hoping the overs hit tonight after yesterday and it really is in line with how I would expect the game to play out just dont see a 4-3 game here more like 6-4...,went Under @ DET after the 19 run outburst yesterday , 2 strong RHP on the hill and even though Verlander is struggling his last outing was sound 4 runs in 7 innings washoping minus Minny he could build on that....but these pens are gasoline well more DETS...but hoping for 7 + here and something around 2-2...did the TB to over parlay small...and Boston Celts 1st Half ....and of couse SA 1st H.....:cheers:

Yeah Nut I am confused how if you think FLa should be -130 how you then turn around and lay 20 cents with the Brew Crew...I am on the Fish tonight for the fact that I didn't understand the line but maybe I am a sucker taking the better team right now at home at +$
 
Lines that are off dont continue to go in the so called wrong direction. At some point they are corrected regardless of who is betting what . Am I the only bettor in the world who realizes this number is off ? Of course not so that tells me is there in no value in the bad price since no one stepped itto correct it . I have said only many occassions PRICE alone does not dictate value . Priced is used to entice action to create an illusion of value. What I am saying has nothing to do with tricks or traps or anything of that sort . No little men from mars with Sports Alamancs simple market effeciency. Not saying someone sits in a dark room figuring this shits out I just apply what I used as a bond trader to looking at how lines act and move . Subconsciously I know how a line should react so when I am sharp have great days when my capping and the proper movement occurs . I simply believe betting markets are like all other markets in the world they will correct themselves if something is out of whack. So if this didnt correct itself then it isnt as out of whack as it appears.

The truth as I see it as MILW can not afford to lose this game they must find a way to escape with a WIN before playing STL as a 6 game losing streak will be trouble. So that situation to me will dictate the value not the price....

I can pretty much say fromexperience if MILW WINS it will come in two forms. Either the Brewers blast or simply lead from the 1st pitch or we see the type game like we did in Colorado yesterday. Where MILW is trailing most of the game and pulls it out of there ass late leaving all FLA backers telling themselves they made the right play again and would make the same play again.....

Guess it boils down to my out of the box mentality.....I try to see what is not obvious....

I would ask though since I played COL this morning at -110 and just saw that it closed it at about -120 why this game is any different ? Just because Tuck rationalized that STL didnt want that game ? Which isnt the truth its just looks that way after the fact.....

I would bet that Fla leaves both runners on and doesnt score in the 2nd inning to promote the allow Milw to hang around theory and also wouldnt be suprised with a amomentum shift if Milw scores in the top 3rd......

So basically the same situation as COl game here and I pointed out the same thing about the LINE in that game last night in this thread...no way DeRosa
should be favored so why was he and why didnt the market correct it ?

Also this has to include the fact the line is so obviously OFF like it was in COL. Rockies were a stumbling team so there is no reason to set them as the fav as far as enticing action while same applies in Fla the Marlins are in first won the 1st 2 games of the series while Milw has lost 5 straight.....
 
Well just walked in to see what I thought would happen occur except it was Treanor hitting the bomb. Milw pissed away chanes in seemingy every inning and Fla with 2outs in the b5th starts to rally...now down 7-1 after 5 ...gonna need a huge one to pull this one out but looking at the fact Hendrickson was chased before Villanueva and I am still down 6 doesnt look good....

If I read the situation wrong it happens....I used the same logic on every game I play if lines dont react the why I expect them to then it causes to me to take step back and reread the situation.......

Only good part is that this made me play the Over @ Florida as well and Celtics 1st H along with COL Rocks earlier.....the bad part is having more on MILW then anything else..

I am fine if I was wrong it happens...

Be back to look at the late game but I think I went to sleep thinking over yesterday as King Felix had crazy pitch counts before NYY and then was flat...also on Spurs 1stQ and 1st H , 3rd Q Hornets
 
Just because I see a line that may be off or not correcting itself within the market place doesn't justify me jumping all over that side automatically, especially when you have two teams going in opposite directions. But I do respect your viewpoints and all the knowledge you put into this forum

Gabbard back is the SP off the DL that I look to fade situation which is aided by the fact they oppose King Felix and lead the series 2-1( Rangers lead)

Worse I think is his rehab start was in AA and lasted but 4 innings. Probably giving him and the prganization some false hope IMO that he hasnt missed a beat since the back injury. I doubt that though ...command and velocity shouldnt be where they normally are he alread tends to allow a hits...

Mariners off a SHUTOUT are 14-8 OVER past 2 + season including the 1 ocassion this year .
Rangers are 10-2 Over vs teams with losing records and 11-8 OVER away
Mariners are 5-1 OVER vs LHP this year

Gabbard last year pitched @ Seattle and King Felix getting roughed up and losing 8-7 with a 9 total so that makes 8.5 look cheap in that sense...

Hernande has been solid last few vs Texas but I like that Texas has flipped to a LH lineup although Blalock on the DL and Young out at SS actually aide a SEA play here imo....

Seattle elads the league at 311 vs LHP and is 355 vs LHP athome....

As I said hernandez recent pitch counts concern me and I think texas should score more then they usually do off home...think SEA home games vs LHP have seen 15 , 15 and 16 runs and a 7 the most recent...they also hit Cliff Lee I know 6 inn 3 runs...

So over 8.5 then parlaying SEA and over ..

No problem bro. I was simply sharing my opinion I understand people will agree and disagree just as much s I will be right and wrong....its 1 game ...
