its just the new format for BM - I can't make space between each game while the older format allowed me too. oh well

First leans:
Brewers
-Suppan is solid this season (home ERA 1,29)
-Moyer is lefty
-Rollins and Victorino on DL

White Sox

just at a glance

billingsley/over
maybe the TT over for LAD, even though they are really struggling to drive in runs. OVER depends on Edgar Gonzalez - flat out sucks.

Update: Cassel will be promoted on Tuesday and take Wandy Rodriguez’ (groin) turn in the rotation, the Houston Chronicle reports.

Recommendation: Cassel was in consideration for the final spot in the rotation until the last week of spring training before being sent to Triple-A Round Rock. He’s 1-1 with a 2.50 ERA with the Express this season.

just read that Justin Masterson, a second-round draft pick in 2006 who will make his major league debut. He was 1-0 with an 0.95 ERA in four starts at Double-A Portland....will get the start for the bosox tomorrow.

The day games can be tricky tend to like to see the lineups first before I make up my mind.

Cassel was with SD last season I believe . See Jennings listed for Texas and Feldman other places so that may change. The rainout in KC should change some SPs...

Maybe interested in Milw and Colorado but not much else early.....

Price is tough but have to like ATL after consecutive losses. Badenhops first road start and James looked solid last outing and remember FLA struggling now vs LHP. Had a huge play on LAD today and some -1.5 RL so might entertain that again as I look to fade ARIZONA vs tough RHP...Billngsley doesnt exactly qualify though....and interested in UND NYY and CHI at least for the 1st 5 innings...

angels.. saunders got good stats against the bosox and been pitching decent in his last few outings ..

Boston (dare I say it) is due a game where they aren't really in it from wire to wire, had a feeling it'd be this game before the pitching switches - was hoping the Angels didnt pull it out last night to leave them even more "desperate", but at least Boston competed til the very end.
The Red Sox are 12-4 SU their last 16, and have trailed by more than 2 runs after 7 innings in only one of those games (contrast that with having gone 3-4 SU in their 7 games before this latest run, having trailed by more than 2 runs after 7 inns in 3 of them). That's a long stretch of performing without 'a laugher' going against them. 3 games against Tampa next up, if things go against them early in this one, a lot of sacrificial arms could be wheeled out as they save their resources for far more winnable games coming right up.

Price seems Ridiculous on Cueto and Cinn. Opend at around -190 down to -175. Houston has been scoring lately. I'm looking at hitting them early 2marrow for a shot. Cincy dosn't put up the Off for Cueto. Too much value here IMO.

yep...
woulda actually played the halos/saunders, if not for this.

they do much better against wake then they typically do against someone they haven't seen before. anyways, how masterson will fare (in prolly his 5 to 6 innings of work, if successful) was too much of an unknown variable for me.

just at a glance

billingsley/over
maybe the TT over for LAD, even though they are really struggling to drive in runs. OVER depends on Edgar Gonzalez - flat out sucks.

LAD really caught my eye...though i haven't done anything yet. Gonzalez is trash. LAD have hit their last 2. Chad has done great against AZ, except for that last start...for which i blame torre, btw...since it was the start after that rain fiasco, where they weren't gonna use him, then decided to (mid-game) anyways...if i remember right. And the line is jsut begging you to take AZ...as it did with haren, which i fell for...not to mention some reverse line movement, with the pub on AZ large.

Joe Saunders is excellent on 5 days rest. Very fine on small sample in April and has pitched well vs Boston. Has pitched 1 day game this year. 5.1 innings at Seattle. 93 pitches, 6 hits, 3 walks and a very lucky 2 runs. In the day he is 4-4 with a 6.47 era based on 57 innings. This is Boston at home in the day where they have had about a 5-1 win ratio last few years. No price yet on the game but a strong lean to Boston.
Hard to imagine not playing WS at least first 5. Note pitchers and umpire.

The most frightening thing about yesterdays Detroit game was how Detroit walked on Wright. Certainly the best middle relief pitcher Texas has and on 38 pitches they got him for 5 runs. Great dog ump in that game but Feldman got lit up in his last minor start on the 19th and I have no faith in the rest of the Texas pen.

I like Oakland throwing out a lefty against a team with a sub .600 OPS vL in Minny. I also won't treat Liriano as a viable threat until he can show he has some sort of control(5 BB in each of his first 2 starts). Small lean on the under as well, as I don't think Minny will score much at all.

For the LINES just go to Pinnacle and cut and paste them....

Really warming up to Texas today .

Why Texas??

First look at Bonderman I would go as far as to see for him he has been terrible.

The Royals have a lineup very comparable to Texas with some solid RHB but alot of solid young LHB. This one of the 3 starts he walked more then he struckout and his 2 home starts are near identical to KC and Minny who dont have as good a lineup as Texas does or could.

12.2Inn 16 H 11R 8ER 2Hr 4bb 6 K

So far LHB are aheadache for him .359 BAA , 9 bbs leading to a 2.76 WHIP vs them in 4 starts .

Also look at the extreme difference in home/away splits. The ERA is .60 higher but the WHIP and BAA are the eye openers IMO..In fact this is a scary 4 year trend for Bonderman outside of his rookie year in 2003. Check the splits....each season...something like 61 starts 22-22 record 367.2 Inn 405 hits 210 runs (201earned) 38 Hrs 129 bb 312 Ks. So basically 1.45 WHIP 4.92 ERA...Plus at times he has really struggled in day starts but 2007 he did improve. Still just 16-27 in 51 day starts...

Melhuse 5/10 Hr 3 Rbi
Broussard 13/45 3 Hr 12 Rbi
Young 6/16 1 Hr 2 Rbi
Kinsler 3/5 Rbi
Blalock 3/14 2 Rbi
Cat 4/18 Hr 3 Rbi
Hamilton and Murphy never faced both LHB
Bradley 4/10 Hr 3 Rbi

38 / 118 .322 Edit : 34 /112 .304 6 hrs 25 rbi

Botts for Bradley which is okay because its another LHB and also Vazquez for Kinsler which aagin is okay as believe Vazquez SWH and is 3/9 1 Hr 3 rbi vs Bonderman. Kinsler has terrible day splits since last year and I mean terrible well below 200 Avg...

Also factor in the situation you dont wan to go against losing streaks but Rangers have blown alot of these games. That was a 5-0 Ranger lead yesterday and 7-6 game heading into the 11 run inning. So it wasnt as bad as it looks. It also has to provide motivation for them as I would assume there had to be some sort of meeting after that game.

CKR was correct back to Jennings again as the SP . Jennings had a rough first inning at Boston but settled down nicely 6 innings 3 hits 2 runs 2bbs 1 K. He has lost his new teams first 4 starts. Most of his problems were based on the fact he is working his way back from shoulder surery and probably need more time and maybe a stint in the minors. As far as the pen goes German is available with some rest , assume closer Wilson is okay to go and Guardado should be activated for today.

Jennings has had some solid day splits in the past . More importantly he has been tough on RHB so far 235. Not sure how he reacts to picthing on 5 days but I am not overly concerned. No Guillen takes away a key bat especially from the LH side . Granderson has returned and lets see how he fares playing consecutive games and Jacque Jones the rest RH with Thames hitting 3rd. Cabrera and Renteria do own him as the lineup is 21/48 but again he was also injured alot in teh past and pitching in Coors.

Played : Texas +160 {1.5u} , 1st % +160 {.5u} and +1.5 -125 {.75u}

also cant believe it but laid the price with Cueto...dude has been excellent at home , tough on LHB and death on RH with a 1bb 23 K ratio...Lee and Matsui sit...Bournes speed is on the bench...95 at !2:30 might be rough.....Reds lineup always better vs RHP and Cassell probably goes 5 inning and to the Stros medicore pen...Reds -180 {1.5u}

I am sadly chasing Texas again today and once again playing the over, pretty much for the reasons you outline SNut.

Actually, without Bradley and Kinsler in the lineup and a 14 MPH wind coming in, perhaps the over is not the best way to go.

I am sadly chasing Texas again today and once again playing the over, pretty much for the reasons you outline SNut.

I had Texas game 1 but det yesterday. Also failed to mention that DET is 1-10 in day games finally winning on Monday in Toronto thanks gratly to having Wells sit IMO .

Anyway be careful with an Over looks enticing but they have alrady played 2 overs this series . Wenndelstedt is loving UNDERS as the UMP having 5 of 6 go that way but more striking is the scores...6 games means 12 teams and only 4 of them scored 5 or more runs( 5 three times and an 11 spot) . He seems to be evoloving into an UNDER guy..good for us is he has seen road teams win the last 4 of his starts...

Rangers every way you slice getting only about 4 runs per game whether its day starts , RHP , road games...

Tigers heating up but avg just 2.1 runs in 11 day games and 4.5 vs RHP...

Just a heads up but I dont see a great edge for an over today in DET...but hey its just my opinion...would have expected 10.5 total as well seem to be enticing over money as well:cheers:BOL bro

Also played the Brewers ...

Moyer LHP vs Brewers lineup ..Moyers good vs Mets twice who cant figure him out and roughed uo the other two times..look at the list of LH Milw has beaten and they hit well in day games...

Similiar spot to fading NYM on Tuesday with Figuerora vs a slumping Lilly in that Philly had to travel after the Sunday game , go to Colorado play two extremely tough games , come to Milw play another tough game and turn around for a day start now vs a team who has bee sitting athome lately...factor in Howard resting and Rollins absence ....alot falls on Utley and Burrell here...Utley has just been almost to hot to this point....past 7 games 14/29 2 doubles 7 hrs and 12 rbi....OMG!:cheers:{1.5 units @ -140 and -1.5 +140 1/2 unit}

Damn I cant believe so many favs today for me...probaly on COL as well and maybe Boston 1st 5 inn....or game:cheers:

On the Brewers and have played the Giants as I could not imagine why they are underdogs. Still waiting for line ups in Boston.

Yahoo ...Tuck they are up..

On boston myself lean under....

Saunders has been good but he is facing the West and Central teams not the BEASTS of the EAST !(lol) ...Cle doesnt hit LH and has been slumping , Minny hasnt hit much at all and Sea is a decent lineup but real inconsistent especially since Ichiro started slowly...so biggest test for him to date...he has been solid in the past vs Boston but really only his last outing was worth mentioning after his 1st starts vs them...Manny is a much better version of himself then in 2007 as we have witnessed...

So I think to much credit being giving to Saunders skewing perception...what is LAA now 7-23 last 30 games @ Fenway and they are basically even money ? Doesnt make sense to me Boston palying to well and barely lost yesterday as Lowrie hit into a DP with the tieing runner on 3rd ...and also boston had to scratch its last 2 SP right before gametime...no one has seen this kid and I am sure scouting reporst are vgue since he came from Double AA. What I take from his stats is that he is in a good groove. You dont weight stats in DOuble AA ball but you can assume th ekid is throwing well and feeling comforable just looking athow well he has done in 4 starts.......so think LAA is in a tough spot and dont see value on them......

If I am wrong them LAA will probably smoke the kid and roll...but I'll take my chances with Boston at home at even money basically.....

I guess part of the reason I like the chalk teams is cause I played the HOME teams today -130...

Anyway played Boston -120 {1u} and parlayed it small Bos , Und 10.5 Bos and Colorado...

Went to sleep not that excited about this card and so far I wound up with alot of plays....GL all.....

Why do I like Colorado today ?

On paper the Cubs are hot winners of 9 out of 10 and 14 of 17 games . Jason Marquis has been decent so far and has good career numbers vs Colorado that get even better at Coors probably due to his reliance on his 2 seamer . The Rocks have blown 4 straight games in the 8th inning or later and one would think that takes a toll but truth is it hasnt because after each blown game they were leading at the end of 7innings the past 3 days ...

It boils down to SP though...

This season Marquis has been on extended rest in each of his starts meaning he got more then 5 days bewteen starts and TODAY is teh 1st time he doesnt. This stands out because of his past 3 seasons splits...

So the past 3 season he has shown that for the most part his BAA and WHIP increase when on what I call normal rest...5 man rotations should mean guys pitch every 5th day usually...Anyway his ERA definetly spikes in these situations.

So what I feel is if Marquis is going to underperform it will be when he is on 5 days rest more often then on longer rest. Since the Cubs are hot and marquis has agood track record this will go unnoticed. Do I think he will get rocked ? Not at all but just like Joe Saunders today I felt the numbers were creating misperception . Marquis has struggled at times vs LHB and so far this year has shut them down but I dont think it continues at a clip where they are hitting 180 something...Hawpe and Helton have owned him so they need to get clutch hits here....

Now Aaron Cook has been excellent so far this year and he has faced good lineups as well. He won @ Houston @ and @ Zona so far 13 inn 12 hits 4earned runs vs two of the hoitter NL offenses. he was very sharp at home vs ATL going 7 inn 2 hits and 1 run . In2007 I feel injuries aided his inconsistencies prior to that he was real solid at Coors and in day starts . So I am sort of excusing the 07 numbers.....His 3 career stars vs Chi all at home have seem him allow 2 earned or less going 6,8 and 7 innings...last year 3 unearned runs hurt and he suffered the loss....

So playing COl and prefer the Under but uncertain still:cheers:

Also really pissed at myself for being foolish and laying -180 with the Reds. Cueto had just been so good I expected he was ready to get some GL and get a WIN having a decent edge in the SP matchup and Hoyuston resting some hitters. Plus thought the Jocketty hiring might have alerted some people its time to wakeup but it didnt...thats how big favs can hurt you when you dont have a great edge in the matchup.....

Rangers cannot get a big hit and of course jennings cruising most of the way hist a spped bump and then allows a 2 out 3 run HR in the b5th. Which to me probably signals the end of my Texas plays......maybe I at least get the under...rough start need some home teams....if Texas cant get hits wit 2 men on , bases loaded and the pitchers falling behind when will they ? Now 6-2...shit...was hoping maybe a 5-4 final...

I backed a slumping team and faded a hot one and I wil probably pay for those decisions...need some home cookin , no un intended last 3 pending games.....

Oakland has some new faces ..Big Hurt and Raj Davis in the lineup which could provide a spark. I think Lirianois improving but command still an issue. Mauer is out today and both teams struggling vs LHP and in day starts but Oak got the added boostfrom its two new RHs. Thomas probably could use a few days off as well while slumping. The under is 7-1 for oakland vs LHP but I think there revamped lineup makes them fairly tough on LH now so they may score some runs today...so pass on the under and lean over actually.....Smith was nicked up some lasting outing so wanna see how he rebounds....

over 8 2 u and Oak -125 [1u}

What an afternoon ...pens cant get outs for me and my hitters get hits...I prefer just being way , way off base then having to watch all this every inning...

2 out double in MIL and why does Riske keep pitching in key spots .....

walks in Boston followed by consecutive infield singles ...

forgot how manyguys Texas left on and Col 5 hits through 2 innings tied at 1-1....heartache Thursday....

This is unbelievable I went from winning everything to lsoe everything in a half inning.....need to vent sorry real pissed right now

So far :

Rangers blew early chances and DET didnt. Bonderman was terrible IMO another guy gets away with being effectively wild...couldnt even go 5 innings and throw 110 pitches...Jennings was prety good till the b5th where he had a chance to escape whena CS made 2 outs but a walk , single and then 3 run Hr ....basically I knew I lost right there...sometimes "capping" is useless...when your slumping or a bad team you find ways to lose and when your HOT or a good team you find ways to win...thats exactly what happened in DET...which is why value is overrated....cost me 3 units

Reds dumb play by me because it was again fading a hot Houston club and payiong ahigh premium...cost me 2.7 units

Brewers another team who couldnt get the big hit and Iknew I was in trouble when Corey Hart gets thrown out at 3rd to lead off the 4th inning trying to stretch a double into 3...and then later Kendall hits into a DP with 1st and 3 rd b7.....of course Yost the IDIOT uses Riske again before he goes to Torres would love to know that thought process just look at the stats its clear as day who should be getting the call.....cost me -2.65 and real pissed and I didnt play the UNDER 10...gift with Howard out IMO it was lucky to go over yesterday....

Red Sox was thinking about the Sox 1st 5 but thought there pen was to good to blow a lead to LAA..looks like I am wrong....probably cost me 1.7 units instead of a win unless I get a miracle which Bos is capable of....

I can at lest be pretty happy that Liriano was chased in the 1st and Oak leads 6-1 but there is still 8 innings left...how A's pile it on there..and Greg Smith does well....

Rocks 1-1 after 4 ...

rockies... can they make it anymore obvious that they dont want to pitch corpas if their life depended on it? Making cook go 8 innings and almost give up the lead... jeez.

Hey Trueblue we got it 4-2 !! First thanks for stopping by . I finally won a game today ...

Worked out well cause I caught a break as I had 1/2 unit on Col -1.5 RL , Col ML , 1st 5 Under and parlayed Col and Und 9.5...for +4.4 units...and I held back on this game because Milw was tied 1-1 and I really thought they would win and Boston was winning 3-1 and I thought they would win and also had Bos , Under bos parlayed with Col...but I'll take a win I nailed ...

Also before the game Corpas demoted as closer and Fuentes reinstated as the closer in Col...hell I didnt even check to see who pitched the 9th yet. I thought the same thing about Cook but I saw his pitch count and it was real low so I cant blame them for that plus he allowed 2 hits to that point...

In Oak they lead 11-2 top 8th...I get +2.5 units on the over 8 ...I have Oak ML for 1.75 units and Over and oak parlayed to win +1.15 ...so if they can hold on for 6 more outs...

That means after starting off with all losers in tex , Bos , Cincy and Milw costing me -10.15 units I will feel great about my logic today and happy about the comeback to be down only 0.40 units heading into tonight....

Which if I didnt force Cincy , if I didnt pass on the Brewer under 10 and didnt play Boston game and went 1st 5 innings like I said originally while parlaying it that way with the 1st 5 under I would be having a huge afternoon...reds cost me 2.7 units alone , difference in the Boston game would be +5.2 units instead of down -1.7 so nearly 7 unit swing....but just playing the Sox 1st 5 is huge...oh well pissed because I had it though out correctly..but its over with time to move on.....

So who is thinking what for tonight??

Really liked Carmona & the over yesterday but just dont feel it looking at CLEs lineup...looks like I will pass...

<TABLE cellSpacing=1 cellPadding=1 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR class=bg2 vAlign=center align=right height=15><TD align=left>> 5 Days Rest</TD><TD align=right>4</TD><TD align=right>2</TD><TD align=right>1.88</TD><TD align=right>7</TD><TD align=right>7</TD><TD align=right>1</TD><TD align=right>0</TD><TD align=right>0</TD><TD align=right>0</TD><TD align=right>48.0</TD><TD align=right>41</TD><TD align=right>12</TD><TD align=right>10</TD><TD align=right>4</TD><TD align=right>1</TD><TD align=right>10</TD><TD align=right>0</TD><TD align=right>29</TD><TD align=right>3</TD><TD align=right>0</TD><TD align=right>0</TD><TD align=right>0</TD><TD align=right>1</TD><TD align=right>.224</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Carmona was real sharp when he got extended rest which the rainout did here...

So 1/2 unit parlay Under 8.5 and Cle....to win +1.2....

Who's out for CLEV Nut?

No one really major but Gutierrez was not playing and in his place was Ben Francisco. Gutierrez had a good game and would hope he would get going now. Also Dellucci is not playing vs a RH and Michaels and his 125 avg is. Which by theway Michaels is generally a 250 hitter vs RH and 290 vs LHP past few season. Also Peralta was sitting and Cabrera was at short with Carroll at 2nd base...

So think they took away some of the depth of the lineup . Plus Dellucci hit well Monday and Gutierrez and Peralta had 3 hit games that day...

So just fucked around and parlayed Cle - under because I thought the Tribe lineup was weaker then expected and Carmona with the extra day has better splits...also Joyce has bee 4-0under already this year figured his zone was maybe a little wider and two guys who should throw strikes could benefit plus extra day off for the pens with the rainout..

Took Tomko first 5 plus .5 and ml. No time or point in listing reasons now. GL

Thanks tuck...if you DO get a chance I would like to hear your reasoning...I really dont care who wins its one game its not personal for me to be opposite anyone...but I do like to hear what people think and see...:cheers:GL as well

I think a fundamental difference is I see Carmona on 6 days rest as well as Tomko which is not good for Carmona. Also The KC batters have had vastly more at bats vs Carmona than Cleveland has vs Tomko.

Yeah good stuff. I just think Tomko is simply overperforming at this point due to the lineups he faced. The tougher the lineups the more he will get hit IMO. I did like the over alot yesterday because KC has alot of young LHs and they seemed to hit Carmona much better in the 2 starts @ Kauffman . Change my mind today probably a mistake ...I can see the reasoning for a play on KC but I really think Tomko's last start was telling @ LAA..no Vlad and he gave up 5 runs..:shake:

Starting to look that way. 4 walks before today and now 2 in the first 2 innings.
