The Los Angeles Rams Offseason Thread

Pretty much a regular
Most probably could care less about this team but I'll share my thoughts on what I'm seeing and hearing.
We have the 15th pick and 2 second round picks so another good job by Fisher acquiring high picks. The guy just can't coach well enough to translate it to W's. He should eventually have a GM or some sort of front office position and remove himself from being on the practice field and making game day decisions.
With the 15th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, THE Los Angeles select, LB Reggie Ragland. That's my early guess which is subject to change as I continue to evaluate. Off the list is Lequan Treadwell, Paxton Lynch was never on my list. I still have his Bowl game vs Auburn embedded in my mind. He was flat out horrible for 4 quarters.
I believe Fisher keeps Olgetree on the outside despite his smoke screen statement of moving him to the middle.
Rams could be looking at 2 #1 type WR's in the 2nd round. If they're smart they will dump stone hands Britt. With Jared Cook gone, the Rams need to fill in with bigger WR's.

Fisher better find himself a ready made QB because he cant coach and teach the position.
Thanks for the video.

Very happy to see Trumaine will remain a Ram for at least 1 more season. He was franchised for a boatload. He's a stud who should reach Pro Bowl if the Rams can find a winning season to help him get noticed. As far as Janoris Jenkins, I'm not sure what happened. $45 mill for 5 years and he turns it down and fires his agent?
Now that TJ22 is signed and EJ Gaines is coming back, we're in good hands with the starters. Midget Lamarcus Joyner and the others we have are decent enough. Maybe we add a 2nd rounder. Joyner is better suited in the slot with guys his size. Mo Alexander is a bigger physical type DB.
I got a woody when I heard Mario Williams was released. Bring him in with the rest of this dine and we've filled in a weakness big time. Always thought Chris Long was closer to Chrissy Long from an NFL strength standpoint.

Hard to believe Bradfords college reputation continues to land him big coin.
Wise
Not sure what is worse, the Fisher extension or the Bradford signing
I say Bradford cuz I am an eagles fan. Guy just does not have "it", he is a pussy to put it lightly, not winning a title with him, basically nothing to look I forward to as an eagles fan in my mind. I would have been happy with letting Chase Daniels start and drafting a guy in rd 1, New HC, New start, but now it's back to fragile Sam.. Fuck me.

Dudley, I think it also tells us about the QB pool in the NFL. The Eagles might feel it only gets worse after Sam. The money he's been given apparently is what the B level QBs get in today's market. The NFL is out whack if you ask me. There's a salary cap and yet they'll overpay for a below average QB.

Spot on.....“Did you say great coach?” Jaworski started off when being interviewed by Dan Sileo. “You’ve got to be kidding me. He’s an awful coach. He’s a terrible coach. He’s been fired by 30 teams years ago and is struggling to get back into this league. If you can’t develop a quarterback in the National Football League, you can’t be a consistent winning coach. Jeff Fisher went to one Super Bowl, he’s never developed into a consistent winning coach and he’s never developed a quarterback outside of Steve McNair. And Steve came in with a lot of ability and certainly, I did not think he was the guy.”

Fisher Follies continue. Mr. So Clever is just so knowledgeable about moving teams from 1 state to another that he's removed himself from the Rules Committee to focus on the tasks of relocating. Probably a good thing for the NFL. If you can't coach on the field, we certainly don't need u modifying rules. Mr Clever has allowed HBO into an already chaotic offseason. Let's also mention we're interested in playing in China when you still need to get LA. We officially have a 3 ring circus.
Mr Clever has lost pieces to his defense. Mainly Janoris Jenkins and Rodney McCleod. I won't get into Chrissy Long and Janet Laurenitis and how much improvement will come from their departure. Enter Reggie Ragland at MLB. Instant upgrade. Take the 2 picks in the 2nd round and maneuver to pick up 2 WRs. Instant upgrade at their weakest position. Yes, weaker than the QB position it's that bad. Catching a pass would be a site for sore eyes. 3rd round pick we need to find a CB or safety. The only smart thing I heard Mr Clever say yesterday was he's going to let Nick Foles compete for the QB position. Can we allow NF5 a chance to play behind an experienced oline and a LT that doesn't allow the DE a straight path to his left ear hole? I can't see how this team under Fisher ever finishes above .500. Had to vent after these recent interviews.

All this talk about the Rams taking a QB in the 1st round is cracking me up. Total smoke screen IMO. We can land a force in the middle of our defense with Ragland. Laurenitis was a MAJOR under the radar weakness. We improve IMMENSELY by bringing in a true run stopper. We need to get our hands on 2 of the following skill players. Coleman, Doctson, Fuller, Thomas and Hunter.

Which QB are they saying the Rams will take in the 1st round, Lynch ? Goff and Wentz look like they won't fall below the top 5 and I don't see another first round caliber QB though with the price of QBs the likes of Bradford and Osweiler this offseason I can imagine QBs will fly up the draft boards. If you take Ragland at 15 your not getting 2 of your skill player guys in round 2 and would be lucky to get one of them ...I think Tyler Boyd would likely be there and a nice fall back option.

LA times mock draft has the Rams trading w/ Dallas up to the #4 to select Wentz.

Have you heard any news about the lawsuit season ticket holders have filed to allow them to purchase their tickets in LA due to the PSLs ? I hope they win and screw with Kronke after what he did to St. Louis.

Arizona, St Louis Rams fans who purchased PSL seating lost or will lose their lawsuit. There's a stipulation stating if the team were to move, the organization isn't responsible for reimbursement. Pretty bad deal for those who invested. If that's not a sign to stay away from PSL's, then people get what they deserve.
Lynch is the QB pundits have at 15. Fisher isn't investing his 5th year on a QB who can't help him this year or next. They already have Sean Mannion. Rams have to keep their picks or even trade down. For its, Ragland or trade down and add picks. A trade down could still land Doctson, Coleman or Fuller. Reggie Ragland would make this defense more complete. WR is weak this year so Boyd in the 2nd round wouldn't be bad. Rams need 2 WR between 2nd and 3rd round if you ask me. It would completely change this team to add what I just mentioned.

They will get their guy -- Wentz. Good move for the team. They needed some buzz with the move to LA, and this certainly did the trick.

I'm just glad the Eagles didn't make this move. That is a hefty price to pay for a QB who all scouts aren't totally sold on.

Lots of relief off of Clev now. At #2, they will get whatever QB falls to them. So they can't FUCK this up by taking wrong QB LOL.

Lots of pressure on DAL with four REALLY GOOD superstar-type prospects to pick from at #4: Bosa, Jack, Ramsey, and Elliot.

My guess is it will be JACK. But who knows what Jerry will do.

This is a horrible deal and will propel the Titans to the playoffs shortly.

I assumed their moving up for Goff. I was praying for him to go to Dallas, love his competitiveness.

Wentz is their guy?

It can turn out to be a win win, Rams just have to trust their scouting

they already have a ton of talent on D and some good playmakers up front

if they think there's a franchise QB at 1st overall and he turns out to be then this move completely turns around the fortunes of the team

it's also a win for Tenny, they think they have their franchise QB and just picked up a ton of value to put pieces around him

Locals here are spinning this kind of like gorgy said above, that now the pressure's off. I don't really see it that way, what if the Rams' guy is their guy? If the Brownies go ahead and take a QB at #2 and they probably should, I wonder if it will ever come out who they have rated #1. Don't think they've really let that leak yet. I've heard both, and I've heard Ramsey. It's been speculated that the reason they released Whitner so late in the free agency period (kind of screwing him) was that they had internally settled on Ramsey.

I heard on the radio that the rams can sign their pick now...did not know that... pretty cool

Just looks like the Rams are desperate (which they are).... it's not a terrible gamble (like the nets made) but it's a gamble... scouting better be on point and you don't make this trade unless you already know what you're going to do...

I see Elliot falling to #8. The Eagles will have their pick of Elliot, Hargraeves, or a lineman (Stanley/Conklin).

If the Bears want to trade up, I think Eagles would listen. But I do not see Philly moving down any further than 11.

Rams defense lost 4 starters. They signed a mediocre DB from Tennessee. They signed Quiton Coples to replace Long. No replacement at LB or safety. WE HAVE THE SAME SORRY ASS WRs. We mortgaged a lot for 1 guy. We don't have a head coach who develops QBs. It's numbing to know we just threw away all these top picks for 1 guy. Fisher is an average HC. He needs desperately to have a QB overshadow his shortcomings. Not sure how I feel at this point.

Wow rams got fleeced. No 1 and 3 next year too. Lol. The qb's coming in are dogshit.

I kind of like Goff, hope it falls that way for Cleveland. No idea about the other guy.

What can we possibly know about Wentz? And by us, I mean CTG and fans. Dude doubled in size in college and didn't grow up on the recruiting trail. He's probably good, scouts seem to like him.

Even today, 2016, when teams can probably watch every one of his college plays, it's still a crapshoot. Playing for Alabama or Ohio State doesn't mean much at QB, obviously, and beating Alabama doesn't matter either. I learned that the first time Manziel took the field, overmatched, undersized, NFL slow.

The Browns' own division has Super Bowl winning quarterbacks from Miami-OH, Delaware, and an annual playoff QB from TCU. If they think Wentz is the guy, I guess he's the guy. Only common denominator from past failed drafts is the owner, let's hope he's been humbled by his last QB selection.

Probably won't even draft a QB, fuckin' Browns.

The Browns don't need to take a QB for the sake of taking a QB. If Ramsey is the best man for them then take him. They will be in the same situation next season so look at the situation then. I doubt one of these QB's will move the Browns from shit to average

If this is the dude the Rams want then get him.. I see no problem with the move except he has to play under Fisher.
