I came in to defend Norris because his MLB numbers this season are a bit skewed by the one bad start he had against Atlanta, but then I looked at his numbers at 'AAA' Buffalo this season, and all I can say is ugh... 4.27 ERA, 96 H, 41 BB in 90.2 IP. Plus, Woodring has an outrageously low strike % this season at 61.9% (only 3 games, mind you, but in 23 games last season, it was 62.8%, so obviously not a very big K zone).

ive been doing well with the pit/cincy totals all weekend. both days went pretty much how one would expect scoring wise. dont see much of a reason not to play the over pretty much wherever they put it (why no line on this gm anyway? i gotta be at work at 5! guess have to check back on break). id assume 9 be as high as they could possibly set and they probably screw around and make it lower than that. both teams swinging the bats well. morton a gas can who all reds big bats have tuned up over the years, he been horrible on the road, and horrible in the day. only thing he has going is one great start with ump but that not enough for me and it was several years ago. i dont know anything bout kid pitching for cincy cept he walks a lot of guys which should be enough at the very least for pit to get a good look at reds shaky middle relief. if they really come with a 8 total on this gm im slamming over.

Yeah, those are some pretty ugly numbers for this Sampson kid at 'AAA' the past few seasons. Only thing that might save him is Reyburn's high strike %, but the odds of a rookie getting calls usually not great...

Have to say this match up is not good for Houston. I am not too concerned about the first game of Hugh and Robbie vs the other team but Robbie has a clear edge on 5 days rest to Hugh on 4 and much better day numbers and Houston is weaker vs lefties. Houston is certainly the stronger team and much better on Sunday but the ump is 5-12 for the home team with no history vs either pitcher
