Silky's Bowl Diamonds

Think this game is either FSU by 21+ or an Auburn SU win. FSU hasn't been in a close game all season, no telling how they'll react if its close late...

That '95 Nebraska team would mud hole any team this year. So would 2001 Miami, '04 USC, '08 Florida and '11 Alabama. FSU is the best team this year, but they haven't even beaten auburn yet and we're making them a historic team? Starting to look like 2005 USC again.

This is a discussion of UNDEFEATED teams, Im sure there is a "Greatest 1 loss teams" debate somewhere though.

Dominance starts with going unblemished. Truly dominant teams don't stall in big moments. Truly dominant teams show up every Saturday and finish the drill.

Of the 22 offensive and defensive starters in Saturday's win over Duke, 18 arrived as four- or five-star recruits, and 11–fully half–were rated in Rivals.com's top 100 prospects in their respective classes. Nine* were projected as the No. 1 or No. 2 prospect at their respective positions, including Jameis Winston, the No. 10 overall player in 2012. (To put that last number in perspective, Alabama has five starters who were ranked No. 1 or 2 at their positions, and the Crimson Tide have assembled Rivals' No. 1 overall recruiting class five of the last six years. Auburn has three.) After a solid decade of diminishing returns on good-not-great recruiting efforts under Bowden, the celebrated 2011 and 2012 classes under Fisher are leaving the hype in the dust.
(*If you're keeping score at home: Jameis Winston, James Wilder Jr., Nick O'Leary, Mario Edwards Jr., Timmy Jernigan, Eddie Goldman, Christian Jones, Lamarcus Joyner and Ronald Darby.)
All of which is to say that any and allcomparisons to Notre Dame last year (or, say, Ohio State in 2006-07) in respect to"SEC Speed," etc, are woefully misguided. True, the schedule (like the vast majority of college schedules) hasn't presented FSU with a week-in, week-out gauntlet. But where the Fighting Irish scratched, clawed and lucked their way into the championship game against Bama by the skin of their teeth, the Seminoles have obliterated every opponent on that schedule with historic ease: At 42.3 points per game, they're on pace to record the widest scoring margin of any major team, against any schedule, since World War II

Should the Seminoles avoid that fate, they certainly would stand to hold the crown as the most dominant team of the BCS era. Folks will make strength-of-schedule arguments. The problem is, outside of LSU's murderers' row of nine ranked teams in 2011, Florida State falls right into the normal range.

You changed the argument from best team in 10-15 years to most dominant season. I'm not arguing that. FSU has dominated this season. I hope y'all kill Auburn. I just have this feeling that Auburn wins for some reason

How many other teams have zero weaknesses? They may be both the best offense and best defense in the country.

Some of the dominant teams had great teams and Dotsey, Crouch, McCarron at QB. This team is as do infant as those plus the best QB in the nation.

Tonight's key is the secondary, #FSU will be only the 2nd defense capable of just going man all night. The other? LSU. I'll speak more later hopefully about it, put some up on twitter already. Bama was slim in the 2ndary and had to use a lot of zone, Mizzou is almost all zone all the time. UGA like Bama was slim in 2ndary & had to go zone most of the time. Only LSU was able to say beat us up top man on man, we're sticking 8 box defenders and daring u. Auburn is no passing juggernaut but effective enough running with misdirection that many teams were unable or unwilling to leave corners on islands. FSU is both willing & able. Need only see LSU game to see what happens

GL with your boys tonight.....I'll be along for the ride but hope you get to feel the excitement of a ship.
