Best NBA Player Props Today

Matchup-specifics and injury details justify multiple NBA prop bets today. My top NBA player props focus on two games, Toronto vs. Washington and New Orleans vs. Utah. Do take note of the injury situation in Washington, which, as I will describe, entails that there are multiple potential great wagers to make for that game.

Washington’s Tristan Vukcevic: under 11.5 points (-135) at Bovada

Toronto Raptors vs. Washington Wizards, 7 p.m. ET

Toronto’s defense has excelled against opposing centers. In its last two games, Toronto limited Victor Wembanyama to twelve points. Wembanyama missed nine of his twelve field goal attempts. In the Raptors’ penultimate game, they held Chet Holmgren to seven points, forcing him to miss five of his eight field goal attempts. Asking Toronto to hold Washington’s center Tristan Vukcevic to below twelve points thus feels like a very modest ask.

Vukcevic is listed as ‘questionable’ for tonight’s game with a hip injury. If he plays, the point total “under” might be all the easier to hit because his minute total could be limited, especially if the Wizards are losing by a lot of points.

On the other hand, we need to be prepared in case he is absent. If Vukcevic is absent, then you would have to consider the point total “under” for his backup Anthony Gill. Additionally, I would like Bub Carrington because Washington’s scoring has to come from somewhere and, against Toronto, it’s reasonable to expect Washington’s scoring to come from its guards. Carrington is a reliable minute-getter and has a great outlook against a Toronto team that has, by far, been most vulnerable to opposing guards, as evident in the strong scoring achieved by various starting and backup opposing guards in Toronto’s latest games. There is a reason why Carrington’s posted point total is as high as it is despite his most recent games. He plays much better at home, where you can feel confident wagering on his over 9.5 points at -135 with Bovada.

Utah’s Ace Bailey over 17.5 points (-110) with Bovada

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Utah Jazz, 9:30 p.m. ET

Utah is going to score plenty of points against a New Orleans defense that, ranking towards the very bottom, allows over 120 points per game. With their starting point guard and second-leading scorer potentially absent, their top scorer Lauri Markkanen definitely absent, and Markkanen’s backup being so inept offensively, the points are going to have to come from some other guys.

I like Ace Bailey because he averages over 30 minutes per game in February and can be counted on to score against weak defenses. Most recently, he scored 23 points against these Pelicans and 20 points against Memphis. He logged only 29 minutes in what was an eleven-point loss against the Pelicans, so the likelihood that he plays a bit more tonight can only further improve his outlook.

New Orleans’ Jordan Poole over 2.5 Made Threes (+150) at Bovada

This +150 betting opportunity only doesn’t look golden if you let recency bias affect you. Jordan Poole was 1-for-4 from behind the arc in his last game, but he is normally a high-volume and efficient three-point shooter. He can be counted on to bounce back: for example, he followed his identical clunker on February 20 by converting five of his eleven three-point attempts against the 76ers.

By a clear margin, Utah allows the most made three-pointers per game, so this is the perfect get-right game for Poole. He is making close to 40 percent of his three-point attempts since January. With the Pelicans’ starting point guard and starting shooting guard both having been ruled out tonight, the lower competition for points can only improve Poole’s outlook.

Poole certainly isn't shy!
