I'll likely be on the Dodgers and Lowe here. I'm still not sold on Young as an elite guy and his control has been a bit erratic in his first couple of starts.
 
I like Cain -115 at home. And Sheets at +120 wont happen too many times this year even if it is against Johan
 
Nothing like losing writeups !!

Anyway always interested when ATL faces a LHP. Lannan looks pretty good from what I have seen of him and Chico did a nice job vs them today. So not sure I want to press it with Smoltz. I liked Hudson today but didnt want to lay the price and went -1.5 RL instead. Nothing of interest in this game yet as WASH continues to struggle.

The game @ Chi I see 2 dominant RH lineups so based on that I wont mind having Verlander instead of Floyd . Except we know Verlander track record vs Chi is less then good and well he doesnt look all that sharp yet. Still have to feel eventually DET wins a couple games and always nice to get a low price when you have an ace vs a 5 SP. Still waiting on this not sure what I would like to do.

real intriguing game @ Shea. We have said that MILW will hit LHP well and even though its Santana he is still a LHP. Factor in Sheets throwing extremely well and he looks like anice dog . NY has not hit a lick on this homestand and is lucky to be 3-1. Didnt get excited when Sheets shutdown SFG last weekend but from reading some about he seemed electric. So leaning to MILW.

Haren is throwing real well and COL not hitting . Simple lean towards the home team @ -140. really probably prefer an UNDER though but just talking outloud....Like I said the other day Francis is in a funk and dont throw LHs at Zona...

The game @ Fenway might setup for a perfect OVER. First NYY had alot of chances to score today and to there credit Bos pitchers seemed to best in those spots. For as good as Wang was spinning a 2 hitter he also allowed alot of hard hit balls that seemed to be right at people. Factor in a soft tosser like Moose who has not been received well in fenwat last few outings after years of awesome pitching vs theBosSox and beckett trying to get into season form having all sorts of trouble with NYY since he came to Boston. Although his last outing was his best....depending on weather lean OVER and 1st 5 Inn over....

Depending on what happens today in SFG not sure what sticks out about that game. Cain is fools good plain and simple. His record was terrible last year when he started and well he looked terrible last outing. I think his elevated pitch count in his opener really had alot to do with it but you just dont know. I tip my hat to Wellenmeyer for a good performance @ Houston and if he can pitch well there then I like his chances vs SFG. Cain doesnt get much run support either..In his last 26 starts the giants scored more then 4 runs twice ! If you go back to teh start of last year 34 starts and just 4 occassions they got past 4 runs !! Which is probably why the Giants were 3-17 the first 20 starts for Cain. Then he finished 6-6 the rst of the way ....so that makes 9-25 SU since the start of 07.


Try to update the day card in the Am to lazy to look at the rest..GL all:36_11_6:
 
-White Sox : VERLANDER is 1-5 when starting against CHI WHITE SOX with an ERA of 6.00 and a WHIP of 1.510.
FLOYD is 2-0 when starting against DETROIT with an ERA of 3.03 and a WHIP of 1.348
 
Yeah thing is tough for a guy like Floyd who doesnt have impressive stuff IMO to beat the same team in a weeks time. Verlander lost to them already so would prefer him if anything in sort of a bounce back spot. As I have mentioned in VKs thread the WSOX lineup has transitioned IMO to a more RHB lineup then in previous years which I think could leave them vulnerable to power RHs.....

Tough call fo rm eto be honest didnt like Verlanders start vs Chitown on Sunday nite more then anything....

Cant deny how good he was 3 of 4 starts vs DET last year. Tough to clarify my point with a SP with such little experience . He didnt have quick turnarounds in 2007 but in 2006 he did ...

5/11 vs NYM beat them 2 -0 with 5 shutout innings and 5/23 he went 5 innings allowing 5 runs

5/17 @ Milw he went 5 inn 4 h but 5 runs then on 5/27 he went 4.1 inn 9 hits and 6 runs hosting Milw....

So teams hit him harder when the saw him twice in a short span...again small sample size to rely on...

Played mostly Brewers +130 for a few units and 1st % for a unit....

Went with normal plays -Overs @ Chi Sox and Boston...

Dbacks -140

Since SF lost yesterday if Cain got to ++ money I might change my mind and nibble ..

Under or nothing in Chi-town.....V on the bounceback with E behind the plate and cold conditions could equate to a dominant performance...love the Verlander/ Eddings combo ...its tailor made

And yesterday in the Mets/Brewers game I saw one of the biggest strike zones I have seen in a long time. I believe it was Jerry Lane. He seriously had it shins to nipples. Keep that in mind for the next time.

Ok thanks VK. Maybe might have to take a stab at that over. I think Braves get the bats going today anyways.
 
The total in the Houston game has moved to 10. I was already interested in this game under. Something I learned from Pops was to almost automaticly fade these total moves so I did. Have a smaller bet on Houston first 5. GL
 
Guys I am not involved in the Washington game but this talk about Hudson-----. Last year the guy was 15-15 ou. The year before 12-19 under. Someone is actually going to bet over because he is at home plate?
 
tuck - I asked a similar question in Shortline's thread a little while back, but got no answer......

I mean I know ump's strike zone's influence the game a little bit, but I mean as you said this guys has called 27-34 to the over/under doesn't seem like an edge at all anyway.....
 
Good stuff with the umps and other info. If I had been home I would have probably passed on the Over @ Chicago knowing it was cold and Eddings. Was beautiful here at noon. What can you do I made snap decisions...Brewers won and worse I can do is break even to start the day if I lost everyother play I made so far...which is a possibility...since I would have passed on the Yankee- Boston over as well...
