Saturday i'm off Tillman Discussion

Martinez 6 starts on 4 days rest 1-1 5.79, 4 starts on 5 days rest 4-0 1.96...he's on 4 days today
Martinez 16 innings vs Pit last season allowed 17 hits posted 4.50 ERA
Worley is on 5 days rest, 4-1 2.48 6 starts '14 and 1-0 2.25 2 starts '15
Worley 10 starts at PNC 7-2 2.08 ERA

Nba,
Hutchinson is struggling bad right now is a 5era 1.35 career whip guy anyway. Never goes more than 6 and allows a lot of baserunners.

Kelly another 1.35 career whip guy who hasn't looked good since 2013.

Ortiz back in the lineup, rays have a great lineup. Boston bp sucks, Toronto is ok.

Those are my thoughts NBA. I don't care if it's too obvious. There was a similar obvious over a couple weeks ago with Boston and the O's and it cashed ez.

It will be one wager out of 400 or so ill have this season.

i tried to convince myself to play kc just cause guthrie's strong track record as a dog, and kc's in general. i couldnt do it.

currently doing the same but with no Perez/Moustakas and the massive hitting disparity i think i'll lay off

Chen pretty good day pitcher, right? Wind coming in from right should help keep those pop ups in the yard. Really, pathetic, that stadium is.
where do you see the wind coming IN? I see it OUT at 10 mph

there is RLM on the total though... 75% on the over and it dropped to 8.5

for those who care

Nba,
Hutchinson is struggling bad right now is a 5era 1.35 career whip guy anyway.

It will be one wager out of 400 or so ill have this season.

it did not cash ez

No carp. Pitt offense ready to explode.

Ill be on pitt today.

what, it's been waiting two weeks to explode?

whats the white sox saturday record last year again? I remember something about this

Sup yo. You're probably remembering how the WSOX started out 0-12 SU until between Apr 5-Jun 21 on Saturdays. But since then they are 11-8 SU on Saturday. Also noticed that the Rays are tied for the best Saturday win% in baseball since last season at 20-10 SU (.667) while the Rangers are the worst at 10-20 SU (.333).

NBA What do you think about the line movement on CLE after MIN ML got hit hard last night? My local is selling CLE ML at -125 and he is usually pretty sharp.

The only thing I saw for today is how Fister is 7-1 SU (3-0 SU home) in day games with the Nats with a 1.68 ERA.

it did not cash ez

Obviouslynot talking about that one, the one the next day, cashed ez. Everyone was on the over. 88% on over everyone talking about it.

what, it's been waiting two weeks to explode?

Pitt offense underachieving, you really think cutch will continue like this? Betting sports isn't about what happened, it's about what will happen.

I think it's fairly odd that the indians opened as the favorite with how hot the twins have been.... the line is back to around Cle -115 of most sites and i think it's pretty telling judging most people's perception of chen and how awful he was last year.....

Personally, I think Chen has a lot to prove and a lot of motivation after reading this.....

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Bruce Chen had a self-evaluation over the winter. After he posted a 7.45 ERA for the Royals and battled back problems in 2014, he had to ask himself: Did he still want to play?
Did he still want to endure the rigors of a 162-game season? Did he want to attempt to prove his worth to an organization in hopes of a spot on a big league roster?
Ultimately, the answer was yes. That hunger still churned from within. And his 11-year-old daughter took notice of the determination he exhibited to continue his professional career.
Gabriela, 11, got the lead part in a ballet.
"She was hurt," Chen said. "I said to her, 'A lot of people are depending on you, but what do you want to do?'"
Gabriela said she didn't want to let anyone down.
"When you had surgery, did you quit?" she asked her father, who missed the 2008 season because of Tommy John surgery.
Chen said no.
"I don't want to quit," Gabriela replied.
"At that point," Chen said, "I realized that [my children] do listen to me and they do pay attention."
With that, he knew he wanted to give it one more shot in 2015. He signed a minor league deal with the Indians the day before the start of spring training.
"I said, 'You know what? That's right. I don't want this to be the end,'" said Chen, referring to his miserable 2014 campaign, in which he watched the Royals proceed to the World Series after they severed ties with him in September. "'I want to go out there and give everything I can. My kids are going to learn from this. They aren't going to give up just because something doesn't go their way.' That was one of the things I wanted to do, to show my kids that if you want something, you go work hard for it and you don't give up."
When Chen takes the hill for the Indians on Saturday afternoon, he will appear in a game with his 11th different big league team.
"Not like I'm counting or anything," he said.
He has saved hats and baseball bags from each stop along his major league tour. One day, he said, he'll sit with his children and "talk to them for hours" about each experience along the way.
He isn't prepared to do that quite yet. He still has the drive to pitch. So when he signed his pact with the Indians, he first told his wife and children. He'll never forget informing his kids.
"That was one of the greatest moments as a father," Chen said.
Less than three months later, and after compiling a 1.74 ERA in five starts at Triple-A, Chen earned a promotion to the big league roster. He takes the spot of TJ House, who struggled in four starts and landed on the disabled list with shoulder inflammation.
Learning about a call-up has a different feel for a 37-year-old player than it does for a 21-year-old. Chen burst onto the scene with the Atlanta Braves when he was barely of legal drinking age.
"You can never forget about that one," Chen said. "This one is very special, too."
It's special because he didn't know if it would ever happen. He hoped to break camp with the Tribe, but he fell short in the race for one of two vacant spots in the club's starting rotation. He ventured to Columbus, pitched effectively and now will stand atop the mound with his wife, children and parents in the stands at Progressive Field. His parents boarded a plane in Panama City at 7:45 a.m. on Friday. They were to arrive in Cleveland on Friday night.
"Hopefully, they're going to love me no matter what," Chen joked.
Indians manager Terry Francona said the tentative plan is for Chen to make more than one start for the club, but he wouldn't set anything in stone. Chen would obviously prefer to latch on with the club for the long haul. But he can take solace in the fact that he set out to make it back and in three month's time, he did exactly that. That's a good lesson for anyone, 11-year-old ballerinas included.
"When you go down [to Triple-A], you realize how good you have it," Chen said. "A lot of guys have never been in the big leagues. Some guys are married and have never been there and are making very little money and they play hard and you say to yourself, 'Well, I don't want to be here.' You can't be like that.
"I wanted to make it back to the big leagues. In order for me to do that, I had to go to Triple-A and show everyone that I'm able to pitch. For me, it wasn't like putting my ego aside. It was like, 'You know what? I've done this before and I have to go out there and earn my way back.' People respect that when you earn your way back."

Wood vs and at Mil scaring me
Mil 3-15 night games
Lohse 5-11 May past few seasons (teams record)

Any Cubs thoughts GW, initial lean for me and have nothing more

can't discount that lineup so I like them. Wood can be lit up, but I don't think the Brewers are the team to do it.

I've been a big Lohse proponent for years and don't get why he gets so little respect both in contract situations and in the lines he receives, but he seems really homer prone and that's a scary thing in that ballpark.

I made it CHC -110 so up until that number I at least lean that way. Hallion will give the corners to Wood so that's big, too

I don't know how you can bet against Bruce Chen today. Motivation in regular season monotonous baseball is VERY rare.

I think I can make a case for the under in Seattle.

The A's had been crushing the shit out of the ball in G1 of the series before yesterday, but they are coming in on the back end of this long ass road trip - and speaking of motivation - it's obvious and understandable that they didn't have enough of it last night. The A's face Happ tonight with their .549 OPS v LHP (28th MLB). They have to face Felix tomorrow in the last game of a 10-game road trip, and they haven't had a day off since the 27th, only scoring 10 runs in their L4 games.

Meanwhile, the Mariners had a day off before last night's game and they came in strong, especially considering the starter they faced, Sonny Gray. Sonny allowed his typical 1 run but then the Mariners were able to mash the shit out of the A's bullpen. The Mariners are 6-7 SU at home this season: 6-3 SU when they hit a home run and 0-4 SU when they don't. Which leads me into my next point..

Since June 14, Jesse Hahn has allowed 3 home runs in his L16 starts (93.1 IP). That is the least amount of home runs allowed by any starter during that time (minimum 50 IP) besides Brett Anderson (2 HR in 59.0 IP) and Kyle Lobstein (3 HR in 66.2 IP). Since last season the Mariners are 12-29 (.293) SU and 31-7-3 (.816) to the UNDER at home when they hit zero home runs in a game, averaging 2.0 runs per game.

So, in conclusion, the A's shitty OPS versus LHP, combined with the M's propensity to go under at home when they don't homer, combined with Hahn's .033 HR allowed per inning in his L16 starts.. has me thinking under. Still haven't confirmed anything else like ump stats, etc..

Also keep in mind that since 2011, including last night, when the A's visit the Mariners the team who scores first is 33-5 (.868) SU.

currently doing the same but with no Perez/Moustakas and the massive hitting disparity i think i'll lay off

well if i have learned anything from reading this thread over the years it that some of these trends deserve more respect than i would have thought, enough so we would have been better off playing it instead of finding the edge, the edge was the fact despite what the numbers say on guthrie that dude is tough as a dog. id assume he is pretty bad as a fav too, more perception by me than fact but i do tend to fade him with some success as a fav..

i was just looking at the sea gm, i was initially looking to back hahn but i came away with same conclusion that the under is probably best. i havnt checked ump tho..

yes, but i'm on the other side that it's always worth fading Anibal when he's priced so highly and I'm more upset I didn't play it as I only made him -125 and would have been $0.20 better

Hahn can't K people despite all the lore about his curveball coming into the season. I'm expecting a SEA win, which correlates to under, but not sure if I'd want to play it as he's likely going 5 and then the bullpen for 3 (not a terrible thing considering OAK's arms, but it is still a bullpen)
