yanks, like the red sox when they went on the homestand are hard to fade right now, have not played many home games...As mentioned angels pen is awful...hard to back angels tomorrow thats for sure...

Mutts may have won tonite, but typical mutts, stop scoring after half the game, another team to watch when betting overs....

I know pitt is struggling but dogs at home vs owings?

Backing washington, is like pissing money out the window, have to be select there...

Not familiar with the ray from the bluejays, anyone have any info on him...

Cards are rolling on all cylinders right now.....Pen is rested after last night and Piniero can throw 100+ pitches if needed....Im thinking they take 3/4 so might hit em tomorrow, if they lose bang em Sunday.

Royals send Bannister to the hill, he was masterful his 1st start up from Omaha....Perkins was great at home last year and his last home start.

Called up from the minors today to replace Purcey. Only made 2 starts this season, one at Single A and one at AAA. Jays arent expecting much from him, but just need someone to hold things down until Romero, Litch and Jansen return.

Brett Cecil on the otherhand was also called up and is gonna get the start on Tuesday. He hasnt done that well in the minors this season but is a hell of a prospect. Best young arm in the Bluejays system and I'm looking forward to seeing him pitch on Tuesday.

thanks for the info...they better get some starters to pitch some innings, not sure if these kids are going to do anything....

Thought the Yanks were probably about a 50/50 chance to win today . Didnt like they way Pettitte looked in Boston and he had already allowed alot of basehits vs OAK previous to that . He was his usual self when he is struggling but one thing he doesnt seem to be throwing as much is his cutter . Ton of fastballs on the outter portion of the plate and curveballs. Havent seen the cutter that bites in down and hard to RH much. Kinda strange ...

LAA has faced 5 LHSP so far . They won 3-0 and 8-0 vs Braden and Washburn but lost 11-3 , 8-3 and 10-9 now to washburn , bedard and Pettitte. See the pattern ?

Again dont understand what Girardi was waiting for to pull Andy here ? It was obvious he was falling to pieces in the 6th but he waits to the last moment possible rather then nipping it in the bud. Melancon comes in bases juiced and he throws a fastball right over the plate that get hits for a quality line drive but weak triple , it just split the OFs on a wet night . Veras was crappy , Edwar was solid and Albandejo was big in the 9th to keep it at 9-8 . Remember that I said the Yanks were making the most out of opps in Det despite the fact they were kinda bullshit innings ? Exactly what has played out the past 2 days where they get men on base late and are driving them in. Huge plus is Ramon Pena delivering quality hits and Melky doing more then Gardner did but still hate Melky in big spots . Swisher leaves gets x-rayed ...

Bottomline is Yanks are just loads better then this watered down Angels team . We scored 3 in the 8th yesterday to win , 4 in the 8th today and 2 more in the 9th without making an out .....CC 1st home start he was about -220 to Cliff Lee and yet is only -250 here. Granted the bats have bailed out the pitching but CC has been solid IMO but struggled with the big inning lately . Kendrick is 5/6 , Figgings 3/9 3bbs and Hunter 19/57 vs CC....Palmer made 1 ML road start and it was his DEBUT but still pretty bad but we have to be fair ......Yanks have always been good at home on SATURDAYS as well ....odd thing is it seems DeMuths game are always lopsided so -1.5 RL probably in order and maybe -2.5 .....Yanks -1.5 RL

Nats 1st 5 ML and game ML:
Originally I expected every tom ,dick and harry to ride Zimmerman . Of course I talked myself out of fading him and made excuses for someone who was much more hype the real at the present time . Here Martis has 1 issue imo and its facing LHBs so want to see who plays for STL because this surely wont be lost on LaRussa but the 2 Cards beasts are RH and Martis when on is death to RHs. His 2 hhome starts have been very good and Piniero is a TERRIBLE pitcher in the DAY look at the stats. His only bad start was a day start in ZONA....

Cubs ML :
Looking for Lilly to bounce back as his 2 starts have been excellent . 2 sloppy games split so far by each

Not much interest in the Jays game would say over if anything but prolly pass....

Braves ML / 1st 5 ML maybe under :

Its been a while since Roy has seen the Braves but he never really did pitch well in the A-T-L but those Braves were always pretty solid to be fair . Still JarJar has been consistent and probably slightily better . Looking at the home team ..Jar Ja has allowed just 3 runs past 3 starts in 20.2 inn but recieved no runsupport as his team has lost 2 of those 3 with the win being 1-0.....

Mets ML - Under ?

This is it for Ollie Perez the perfect opponent to get on track. Last year 4 starts think 26 innings he allowed ONE RUN to philly(17 hits , solo Hr , 11bb-27ks!) . Moyer has always been solid vs NY as well but these home day starts have been a struggle for him.....tough to play the under with these 2 but past history says it will be low scoring ......Plus Ollie tends to be better in the day .....maybe 1st 5 ML as well

SFG ML - Under 1st 5 ML?

Cain hasnt been super vs COL lately but still 8 runs in 40 inn past 6 starts at home vs them. Marquis also very solid in SF during hsi career including last season . Feel that Cain was robbed off a win and thought Marquis was handed one when half the LAD lineup on Sat . close game decided by 1 run probably

Boston ML :

Wakefield is their default stopper and has been real good at Trop in his career ...1 bad half inning today killed them...

---odd to see Ohlendorf at home being dogged so have to dig into that game but Owings has struggled on the road ...

Zona ML :

Just feel that Haren is a great fot vs the slugging MILW lineup and pen edge to the Dbacks . Still not crazy about the price .....

Under 8.5 Twins :
Just 2 SP who have been solid and could give the pens a rest ....

Rangers ML:
Mccarthy has been solid and faces his former organization but need to finish looking at this game ...

Mariners ML:
just like fading OAK vs LH on the road ....

If SD can win here then would really love the DOdgers based on the SD struggles with LHP recently . Doesnt hurt Young struggles on the road and already beat Wolf 4-2 this season.......below -140 is to cheap IMO for LAD....

Based on trends the Jays would be interesting - Balt poor day team and Jays good day team ...PLUS

Lilly also8-4 L12 Sat starts since start of 2007......

Wolf 14-6 L20 Sat starts but actually just 1-5 last 6 ...(yikes 13-1 at one point !) . Same with Chris Young 8-4 away was 7-0 at 1 point but just 1-4 last few seasons on Sat away starts

If SD can win here then would really love the DOdgers based on the SD struggles with LHP recently . Doesnt hurt Young struggles on the road and already beat Wolf 4-2 this season.......below -140 is to cheap IMO for LAD....
yessir, i'm on the total for this game..dodgers went through a power outage with the bats today..timmons can cure any bats i tell ya:tiphat:

Twins are such a different team with Baby Jesus back. His first two swings go for a homer and a double. Twins lineup features 5 LH's 1-5 now and tee'd off on Ponson. You could see the confidence in the team with him back.

Perkins has been best pitcher for Twins. will double check ump, but like UNDER and the Twins tomorrow.

played the Bucs as home dogs against Micah gascan Owings.

I actually think Owings has pitched well so far but melted down twice around the 5th inning in his earlier starts. Could have been just losing his stuff and not strong enough . Still think Pitt should be -130/-140 here ....

He throws slow for a big right hander. Like the bucs against weak righties with guys like McLouth and LaRoche. Better pitcher at home as a dog is just about an auto play for me.

Also added Mariners -121. I bet Washburn every time out it seems. At home, better pitcher, Cahill hasn't shown an ability to go deep in games which means you'll get all RHP out of the bullpen against good lefthanded hitters of the M's (Ichiro, Chavez, and Branyan.) Also, A's can't hit lefties, remember? :)

.209 avg and 591OPS...they managed to actually score of CC and still lost ...

about the only thing that has me concerned is the fact Cahill pitched well vs SEA the 1st time and Washburn has been medicore to decent last few times vs OAK. They also just blew a 6-1 game which always has me wondering if that evens out ....

On paper though absolutely agree......also rode Washburn his 1st 2 starts but faded him past 2 ....

GL bro ...thinking along the same lines, pick it up tmrw just pissed away a ton on damn COLORADO..

Agree with most of this. Sabathia went 8 on 99 pitches last time with no walks. Ifdhe gives up 4 too bad.. Fuentes totally exposed. Angels have no pen, no starter and no closer. Played some rl just to be doing something till the 2.5 is put up. Played Pitt. Probably playing Tampa. Wakefield had trouble with the Angels and then he played 3 soft teams but last game he started walking people. Tampa is hitting the ball well with a decent young pitcher at home on Saturday and they should not be a dog to a starter they have owned the last 2 times they have faced him. Need to look more on the rest.

So far this year Baltimore after losing by 3 or more has scored
5
10
8
10
6
With Bradley pitching they have scored 8 and 10 runs
I like Toronto over

played detroit -05, and +170 RL.
bats woke up late in yesterdays game and expect to carry over some momentum into tomorrow. they did get into the pen and idiot eric wedge used 4 relievers today. really do not expect laffey to go more then 5 on the road as he has only done that once in his last 5 outings away and pens could be a big factor here. detroit's is rested, and clev has also never faced miner.
tigs have lost their last 8 against clev and are hungry to finally get a win.
tomorrow is the day they get it, saturday. 4-0 in their last 4 on sat and 4-0 L4 against lefties. also 5-1 in Game 2's.... lot of trends point towards a tigs win.

looking at texas tomorrow as well. looks like a good spot for a win with mccarthy against his former team, gibson behind the dish who is a homer, as bad as contreras has been on the road this year ( (0-2, 8.44) and last year in arlington.. he has had hisproblems getting behind on batters, and really doesnt have an out pitch anymore. he lost his forkball and an average 90 MPH fastball. you give up walks and start getting behind 2-0/3-0 on this lineup, they make you pay with the extra base hits. do not expect a good outing from contreras tomorrow. this is lineup you want to minimize putting the ball in play, he cant do that.
in need of a win after losing a winnable close game yesterday by one run, and the game before being robbed of a win by sweeney at the wall and young thrown out trying out to stretch out that double.

alot of value @ +150 RL for a game that is very unlikely to be decided by more than one run. contreras 8.69 ERA against texas... total is set at 11.5 for a reason... gonna wait and look at the wind tomorrow. GL and great thread as usual.

likely wont be a game i am involved with in wrigley but for those looking at lilly's last start you need to make sure you put it into perspective. Reynolds walks and byrnes strikes out and reynolds steals second somewhere in there and that is when the key play happened. upton grounded it right to the cubs thirdbasemen who took a really long time staring reynolds back to second base and then was late with the throw. Not sure how it was ruled a single as it was as routine as it possibly could be. the next hitter flied out in what should have ended the inning. Instead , snyder takes two borderline pitches that could have been called strike three ( i think both were balls and the umpire was right but what horrid baseball from snyder to not swing at those with pitcher coming to the plate with two outs ) and walks ... so bases loaded .... the haren hits a flukish ball down the third base line that takes a big hop and goes over the thirdbasemens head. .... so you have to factor that in to how you perceive lilly's true current form.... of course that was against the dbacks lineup too. Just throwing it out there for those who are capping that game or betting that game.

Last 10 times Miner has started at home for Detroit the opponent has averaged 7.4 runs.

Lets look at the Washington game. Most trends are accidents that continue and become habits. Cardinals have the best record in baseball. Not a big surprise that they have won the first game of every road series. The second game? The first loss was to Arizona when Carpenter got hurt. the second loss was with a rookie where they played hard vs Zambrano. The third loss was to a team they did respect when they were waiting on Vazguez. Washington played very bad tonight. If they had played better maybe the habbit would have kicked in but that did not happen. So tomorrow a starter who is 4-0 goes for the Cardinals who are 7-4 in the day who are playing Washington who is 1-7 in the day and many people are talking about playing Washington because the Cardinal pitcher has a day era over 5. You are getting around 20 cents. I am not going to say this is crazy because in general home dogs are a good idea. Just would think its really not a necessary bet. The Washington starter has pitched less than 3 innings in the day. Cardinals have a bad record on the road on Saturday. Maybe they just like winning this year and enjoy beating up a fairly weak team. Old expression. If you need a friend get a dog. No one owes Washington anything. Just look for value.

Played Philadelphia. Pretty much a keep it simple stupid play. Apart from the real possibility Perez has lost his mind in days Philadelphia is 5-2 and averages around 7 runs while the Mets are 3-6 and average 3 and 5/9ths runs
About 1 third the bet rl

NP seen this act a million times. Will add some Cards after it hits the bottom.

Like Molina behind the plate for CC today, think he has a real good start. Palmer is going to walk his way into trouble with a patient line up. Yanks build off last night win. CC -2.5 +130 for me there.

I really like the Bravos today as well.

good luck fellas. Kept with the stuff posted last night . Looks like I am the only one on Wash here. They just blew a 2nd and 3rd 1 out in the 1st ...

Main reason is Pinero days splits but also price. This is 06 to 08 and not the widest differences bewteen day and night bewteen BAA (.007)and ERA (1.07 runs) but when you look at ratios everything is much worse ..Hrs per 9 , walk per 9 , K to BB ratio and the 4-11 record .....

Look at 2009 one Poor start @ Zona in the day the other 3 he has allowed 6 runs and 21 hits in 21+ inn just 3bbs 3ks compared to 5 inn 9h 5 runs 3bbs 3ks in 1 start...

The million dollar question for the Mets - Philly matchup is Oliver Perez. Both SP have had great success vs the opponent but nothing comares to what Ollie did in 2008 IMO. You have 4 starts and allow 1 run in the last start on a solo HR ...check Ryan Howard vs him then check some of the Mets bats vs Moyer who has induced just 7 DPs vs them in near 300abs ! Think Tatis and Sheff play huge roles today ....

Huge day splits differences as well - this yr Moyer had Wash and FLA his bitch in day games ..now Moyers splits dont show it but recall that there is HUGE difference for him with home day games then away day games . Philly is a small park with a short LF and thinks the main issue ...

Perez has a huge issue getting out of the 5th inn so far . Last start 4 of 8 runs in the 5th , at STL all 4 runs in the 5th , at Cincy 4 runs ....ANother HUGE Perez issue 2 out hits ...reds had 6 rbi with 2outs vs him , SD lone rbi off him yep 2 out hit , @ STL 2 out walks to Greene & Thurston for 2 of the 4 rbi, vs Wash 3 of the 7 runs allowed were with 2 outs..12 of the 20 runs he allowed came on 2 out HITS so far in 2009. That seems like an awful lot to me and shows how many times he was 1 out from escaping these jams (heck 1 pitch away) ....

Its hard to do but have to pull the trigger on the Mutts ML sort of like Pelfrey last week vs Wash . A team he has had success vs where he needs to get himself on track ...

Braves ML :
Not much to add but Astros 6-12 vs RHP and while 4-5 away they have wins vs Karstens , Ohlendorf , Harang who is their bitch for some reason and Cueto which was tied at 1-1 in the 9th . From recent to oldest ..2,0,8,4,6,4,0,2,3

Though ATL not any better 2-4 and 4-1-1 Under . 3,2,2,6,1,2 think STL top 3 SP , Sanchez , Volstad and Martis ....

Obviously UNDER makes a ton of sense but would only look at 1st H since it moved off 8 runs....though Oswalt 6 inn 4run ,6inn 6run and 7inn 3r if we take away the Reds start which we all know he Cincy daddy..lol..Oswalt has alternated his day success each year ..seemingly trading medicore for exceptional which guess the yrs that he was exceptional they lined up at home....

actually looking at everything could see this game going over 7.5 runs because jarJar hasnt pitched many day games and the stats for him drop a tad..

Not sure about a side in DET but CLE has won 8 straight in the series . Do like the under some but bullpens make it scary. DET has faced 2 LH at home winning 4-3 (Harrison) and 4-2 (CC) on the road 4 LH and are 3-1 UNDER . Losing 5-4 and 6-2 vs Purcey and Romero , winning 2-0 vs bedard , and 12-10 vs Saunders....DET pitching was good at home until the 10 run meltdown vs NYY and sincePorcello and Galarraga have struggled as SPs...in 5 of the 6 1st home games they allowed just 11 runs but did allow 10 in that other one...

Looks like we are setting up for a low scoring day...

Mets ML
Braves ML
Under DET
-leans : over 7.5 atlanta ..

Not be negative minded but would say the game in TOR is a dead under now. Early opps wasted and the 1st 5 ML just pushed which while I am pissed in a sense , much rather have a push then hold an over 10.5 ticket (and I did hold the over 6 ticket but not the game over -a rare good decision ?? )....just the way it seems to play out from what I have seen over the years...

Also Yanks are in some trouble . They stole a win yesterday and sitting on this 1-0 lead forever . Yanks havent done anything offensively and LAA keeps putting on some pressure and no room for mistakes for us..

Tigers vs LHP in 2008 at home :

1st H: 8-4
2-13 Buerhle
6-5 Igawa
9-4 Washburn
1-6 Perkins
8-4 Laffey
5-2 Sowers
2-8 Lee
2-1 Buerhle
5-4 Kershaw
7-6 Francis
9-2 Sowers
2-3 Perkins

2nd H:4-9
6-7 Danks
2-4 Braden
10-2 Meyer
6-1 G.Smith
3-4 Purcey
2-11 Waters
8-16 Olson
3-4 Z. Jackson
4-10 Lee
4-5 Saunders
14-8 Gio Gonzalez
2-3 Eveland
7-5 Kazmir

7 losses see 2 runs or less , 3 runs 2x and 4 runs 2x = Only 2 losses with much offense a 6 vs Danks and 8 vs Olsen...

Det has a nice solid mid 3 day ERA and 6-2 record and CLE is 6-6 in day games with alot of runs scored and nea 6 ERA but remember 4 game set at Yankee Stadium

CLE had been a notorious UNDER team in day games in past seasons....

Just took Under 4.5 (1st 5) in the Giants game. Under ump helping the cause.

Would prefer that to the game total . Dont trust either pen and Wilson did have a 1+ inning save. Have a feeling this one slides over but not enough to take it ..5-4 game ..GL ETG!

wow @ the Yankees.

Really not suprising . Swisher out Gardner IN and Posada didnt start with Molina IN. Only weakens the lineup further . Palmer has been very good actually. Mixing in a live fastball down in the zone with an exploding heater u in the zone despite being around 90MPH only. Ball jumped out of his hand all day ....

Plus NY hadnt played to well last 2 days and just took advantage of opps.

Little pissed at myself for playing the Yanks here . Just a general RULE NEVER play ON teams who STOLE wins the day before . Look at Boston rally from a 5-0 defecit at CLE and go to TB to lose 13-0 . Just like everything that canb go wrong will ....

still disappointing though ...:shake:

Yanks have a great "trend" of letdowns in games if anyone makes any Live In Game plays . Seems like whenever the fail to get a key out the game unravels ...

be back later ...not cray about the rest of the card to be honest ..

Like Zona and Texas . Really like LAD but the price has skyrocketed but was way off to begin with IMO.....

Also Perkins was not sharp his last outing which came on alot of rest . Think it may have thrown him out of whack for the short term so dont like the under anymore ...

Just hit the NY/Ana over with a 2-out, 2-run HR by Posada in the bottom of the 9th. I had no right hitting that one, but I guess it makes up for some of the screw-jobs where I'm on the wrong end.

never even thought of the weather in the ATL game, wouldn't have played it if I knew it was bad. Hate rain delays during a game

Me neither

houston had a lot of momentum with 2 on, no out already up 1-0, and the rain helped a DP and oswalt pop-out to end the inning

now atlanta gets time to re-focus, get their heads back in the game, and think before their at-bats this inning. also hope it doenst affect oswalt's normal tendency to go deep in a game. may have a shorter leash now:angry:
