RSW Discussion 2025

Yanks 1st spring training game is 1 month from today. Never like to wish for time to fly but these next 6 weeks has basically 3 meaningful games in all of sports.
Anyway, notice how the A’s are 71.5? I believe they were 59.5 last season and won 69. I think they’ll be worth a look at 71.5. Brewers blew by their RSW last year.

Reds won 77 last year. Francona worth 3 wins to get them to over 79.5?
Reds always look better on paper than they are in real life as the defense is always garbage and its just a bad fundamental team though Francona might be able to clean that up.

A good manager in MLB is worth some wins.

Look at Detroit with AJ, that's a handful extra each year.
AJ is definitely one of the best though I wouldn’t really know what a good manager looks like since my team has always won because of the front office idiot proofing the roster.

The front office in baseball is far more important than the manager and the proof of that was the Royals winning a World Series with the completely inept Ned Yost running the team.

Nice to see someone on the Çubs under ..Seems like all the talking heads already have them playing the Dodgers in the NLCS .
Its really just not that logical to think the Cubs are the type of club much less organization that is 12+ games over .500 over the course of 6 months...the type of dudes that would like the over here probably liked to bet against Brady and Farve in big games...just look at the roster and the organization....not saying its impossible and if they do it I'll tip my hat but based on my lifetime of experience the line just makes me smile...the Dodgers on the other hand, if they stay healthy everybody else is just playing for 2nd place

Hilarious, knew a few guys that used to lose their shirts fading Montana, Favre and Brady ...

110% agree on the Çubs and on the flip side Dodgers ....No logic on the Çubs being 12 over
..Dodgers appear light years ahead of the NL

Both zips and pecota like the Cubs quite a bit. They're going to be really good on defense, which is really what made them an elite team in the 2015-17 seasons.

If the bullpen is merely good, they'll go over.

Id be optimistic if I was a Cubs fan as well...As you mention the bullpen being just good enough might have them sailing over ...
For what it's worth I don't think the division winner wins more than 85 ...Think the Reds and Cubs should be neck and neck ..

It's a weak division. The general consensus from cubs fans is ownership should start acting like a big market team, which would allow us to easily win it instead of the struggle it's likely to be.

My TOP 5 in no particular order

CIN ov 79.5
PIT ov 76.5
CLE ov 82.5
CHC un 86.5
SF un 80.5
Would add Seattle to this list ov 84.5...actually going to put a few bucks on this one...their starting pitching is vastly underrated. They are right up their with LAD by my numbers. If they keep em healthy they should be able to stay above .500 pretty easy in the AL West. With pitching like that you tend to avoid the losing streaks.

If they could only hit just a little bit, they been my favorite 1st 5 under team for years, doesn’t even much matter what kind of bum they facing. Hopefully they have improved the offense, I havnt had the time to even get into offseason moves yet.

Agree w cincy and Pitt, gonna be plenty of wins cards won’t be getting. And tribe 82.5? One these days maybe books will put some respect on their names but until then might as well take advantage!!

Waiting till Tigers go through the first month -- schedule is brutal -- then will add live RSW etc

Zoinks I've been wheeling the Tigers in division winner parlays ( also using KC and Minny on some tickets ) ..Guess I should have looked at the Tigers April schedule ....

Thanks for the heads up

I don't play season long props, but man, Mets un 91.5 is very tempting. Yeah, their lineup is pretty decent, but their pitching.

Holmes - opening day pitcher, 4 career starts, none in 7 years
Megill - more like MEHgill amirite?
Canning - 2024 Statistics: 5.19 ERA, 171 2/3 IP, 130 K, 66 BB "Statistically last season, Canning was one of the least successful pitchers in the Majors."
Peterson - not bad for a 4th or 5th starter, I guess
Senga - missed nearly all of last year with injuries, how much do you expect out of this guy?

Division is not great, sure, but Braves and Phillies will be solid, and Marlins and Nationals aren't guaranteed wins.

Agree. I have peanuts on them probably not even worthy of mentioning it. GL!

I really wanted to add the Tigers RSW Over to my card as well; just having a hard time separating those 4 teams though I think I like the Tigers at least 2nd most.
I know @HUNT will give ya a better read than me.

He's very high on our Tigs this year.

I've settled into a team that wins anywhere from 83-88 games. I think he's higher.

I'm waiting though -- that schedule is not fun to start.

Same ...Love that Tigers staff , think the rotation behind Skrubal and Flaherty take a step forward ...Only concern is the lineup , can they put up enough runs ??

Right now I have Tigers 90w , Royals 88w and Twinkies 85 w real tight ...Guardians 500. At best

What about you ?

Like I said, I am having difficulty separating these teams but if forced...KC, Detroit, Minny, Clev...but I do not have any of them as high as 90 wins. I like your Tiger analysis and do agree they have a nice ceiling...Flaherty was decent out here last year; realize he pitched better in Mo-town.

I’m adding what could be the easiest pick on the RSW board.
Under 89.5 wins for Yankees. They’re going to have a disastrous season! If Boone keeps his job after this season I’d be shocked, SHOCKED!

Trying to be patient here in NY ..One local has the Yankees at 93.5 , said he's been getting the usual heavy homer action ..Hoping to get that under at 94.5 and id probably throw down a massive chunk .

Yankees have 1 good player on that team. Combine that with how stupid Boone’s teams have played and they could miss the playoffs.

Yankees are now 88.5 wins. This team is garbage. Wait until Fried gets hurt again. If Judge gets injured at all they’ll look like a minor league lineup playing like Little League caliber players.
