Robert Saleh Fired

This is a truly great day. The reason he was fired besides all the losing is something that will never get mentioned and that's him wearing a Lebanese flag on his hoodie on Sunday and thats fine with me.

They only need a QB now !!!
They need to hire either Ben Johnson or Bobby Slowik. I'm sure Johnson would laugh at the offer but maybe Slowik would take the job. No matter what the next coach has to be from the offensive side of the ball so no to Rex, Vrabel, Aaron Glenn or any other defensive coaches.

Brewers do u think there's a chance Billy B is in the running.

If the Jets ever hired Belichick I'll walk away from being a fan of this franchise. Good thing there is little to no chance of this happening. While thrilled to see Saleh gone they better not give Ulbrich the job full time.

9ers need to bring this man back home asap - but not sure how that works and/or if it's possible? I assume he will want to take the rest of the year off?

I don't think this is going to end up the way you wanted. I don't see a lot of bright young OCs wanting this job with no QB of the future in the house.

The D and AR will keep them around .500. But there are 4 good QBs this class - maybe they can trade up and an OC will want his pick?

That defense was close to all-time level efficiency considering they were on the field all game, though. Need it back in SF!!

Its the Jets so I fully expect the disaster to continue but at least for today I will try to enjoy the moment for what it is.

Jets through 5 games last season with Zach Wilson playing QB 93 points and this year with Aaron Rodgers 93 points. So without Zach to scapegoat for everything wrong with this offense the excuses were no longer going to be acceptable.

We need @scarf31 to chime in on this wonderful development.
First off, firing any head coach 20-36 cannot be a surprise. Saleh went from being this energetic hype-up-the-guys DC in San Francisco, to a lifeless, ignorant, overwhelmed fool who had no place being the head coach of an NFL franchise. Especially in New York City.

But this organization...my God some of the things that they do.

I get that this is a win-now season. But at 2-3, coming back from a 6-hour London flight, skipping the bye this week, to now firing the HC in the middle of the week prior to facing your biggest rival on Monday Night Football?

Why now? This should've been done before the year. But so be it.

Saleh literally added nothing. Jeff Ulbrecht, the DC since 21, has coached the hell out of the defense. Everyone knows they're one of the best in the league. I actually am hopeful of him being the head guy the rest of the year. IT COULDN'T GET ANY WORSE FROM THE HEAD COACHING POSITION.

But you don't need to be Einstein to realize that the problem with the team is the offense. Rodgers hasn't been sharp, the offensive line they rebuilt has not been good, they are struggling to run the ball. And Hackett....oh my God...this guy is only there because him and Rodgers are pals.

Hackett had a 4th and 2 he went for on Sunday where the RB was....EIGHT YARDS BEHIND THE BALL. Are you kidding me? The offensive creativity is non-existent and it feels as if the whole squad cannot get on the same page.

Bottom line...I like getting rid of a shitty HC...I just question the timing of it all. And I like Ulbrecht, so I'm hopeful. And for about 20 minutes until I saw he was the interim, I had panic attacks thinking that Hackett would be named HC.

This move reeks of desperation, but it's going to be boom or bust. It will give them a spark and help them rise for the dead...or it will blow up in their face and they'll win 2 games the rest of the year. I give up trying to understand this team. But Monday will be interesting for sure to see how they show up.

I hope they keep losing because I want no part of Ulbrich or any defensive coach for that matter being the head man. To me its all about getting Ben Johnson (he'd probably rather coach a high school team but you've got to at least make an effort) or Bobby Slowik who has done a fantastic job developing CJ Stroud. The next coach CANNOT be from the defensive side of the ball so that eliminates Ulbrich as well as Rex, Vrabel, and Aaron Glenn.

I'm telling you it will never come out but Saleh was fired now and not at the end of the season for wearing that Lebanese flag patch on his sweatshirt. I am thrilled he is gone and don't really care why but that's the reason why it happened now.

We should all have someone in our lives who loves us as much as Aaron Rodgers loves Nathaniel Hackett because it is completely ridiculous that this guy wasn't fired along with Saleh.

This isn’t good news for the Jets. Basically guarantees only a retread or an internal like Hackett will take the job now. I don’t know any of the details but on the surface it looks like angry white men banned the black guy from even getting his things.

First of all it wasn't Woody that hired Saleh it was his brother since Woody wasn't in the country at the time. Second of all this owner hired both Herm and Todd Bowles so the racist accusations have no merit.

When you go 20-36 and really 19-36 since they won a game that Saleh didn't coach you should be fired. The mistake was not firing the incompetent earlier and if people want to complain about how Saleh was treated screw them. This organization paid this dope millions of dollars for nothing so I'm not feeling bad for him at all.

Of course it has merit but we live in a pussy laden society where people make everything about race. Comments on X are all about Jets treating him like a criminal.

Rex rumors picking up steam…

Typical New York Jets move...

Do something that looks bad and is so stupid you cannot even defend.

For all the shitty things Saleh was as a HC...he was always a team player and fell on the sword a million times. And nobody had a bad thing to say about him as a person.

What a fucking stupid ass thing to do. What an awful impression that leaves of this organization.

I'm shocked not at all.

19-36 and through 5 games this year 93 points the same as last year without the ability to blame the QB. At the very least he should have been fired after last season but better late than never. Now do the right thing after the season and hire either Ben Johnson or Bobby Slowik and give the fans some hope.

All I ask is no more defensive coaches. Just say no to Rex, Vrabel, Aaron Glenn (former Jet really the only reason I'd bring his name up) and finally come to the realization that offense is the way to go. For now I will try to enjoy this glorious moment in Jets history hoping to get a new coach that I can believe in all the while expecting Rex or another defensive coach who will continue the trend of no offense.

Both those guys turned down Commanders with their pick of QB after Caleb...

I think Slowik is from New Jersey so maybe he would like to come back. Believe me I know I'm grasping at straws naming guys like Johnson and Slowik but I have to put out there to give some hope that they don't go down the same losing path they have been on for years. I think its going to end up being Rex again which is just too sickening to even contemplate.
