2018 Playoffs 17-8 (2-5 props, 2-0 series)

Had a good playoffs so far, but still plenty time to fuck it up. Definitely like LAD and HOU in series but thinking I will fade Kershaw in game 1. He has only ever pitched 1 game in the bigs under 45 degrees and it will likely be around 40 tomorrow. Kersh only 2-2 in his last 4 road playoffs games and brewcrew near league best at home 2nd half of the season at 29-13. Probably would have felt better with chacin but it looks like it will be Gio

I do wish Chacin was starting but have roll with red hot BREWCREW

Boston at Houston

When: 8:09 PM ET, Thursday, October 18, 2018
Where: Minute Maid Park, Houston, Texas

By Gracenote

The Boston Red Sox look to clinch a berth in the World Series for the first time since 2013 when they visit the Houston Astros for Game 5 of the American League Championship Series on Thursday. Andrew Benintendi made a game-saving diving catch of Alex Bregman's liner to left field with the bases loaded for the final out of Wednesday's dramatic 8-6 triumph.

Jackie Bradley Jr. hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the sixth inning of Game 4, giving him two blasts and nine RBIs over his last three games. "I'm just trying to stay within itself," Bradley said in a postgame television interview, "(and) get good pitches to swing at and make contact." The Astros were hurt Wednesday by a controversial fan-interference call that turned Jose Altuve's would-be two-run, first-inning homer to right field into an out as Boston's Mookie Betts reached above the fence to try and catch the ball. "Once the fan reaches past that line of the fence, we're going to penalize hitters every time," Houston manager A.J. Hinch said in his postgame press conference regarding the call by right-field umpire Joe West. "Joe saw the play as interference. He called that on the field. When they went to replay, they confirmed it. There's no mechanism for me to change their minds, change their interpretation, change the fact that I thought the ball was a row or two in the stands."

TV: 8:09 p.m. ET, TBS

PITCHING MATCHUP: Red Sox LH David Price (0-1, 9.95 ERA) vs. Astros RH Justin Verlander (2-0, 3.18)

Price warmed up during the final two innings of Game 4 but wasn't used as he draws the start in Game 5 after ace Chris Sale (stomach) was ruled out as a possibility on Wednesday. "We're good with him," Boston manager Alex Cora said of Price in his postgame press conference. "He's prepared. He understands what's going on, he understands that Chris can't go (Thursday) and he's ready to take the ball." The 33-year-old Price is 0-9 in 11 career postseason starts following a no-decision in Game 2 in which he gave up four runs and five hits over 4 2/3 innings.

Verlander defeated the Red Sox in Game 1, giving up two runs and two hits over six innings. The 35-year-old stated he doesn't see an issue with facing a team a second time in a series, but he still will tinker with his game plan. "Especially (against) these guys, a team that's really good at making adjustments, making adjustments quickly," Verlander said during his press conference. "There are definitely unique challenges. They know my strengths. They know my weaknesses. I know theirs."

WALK-OFFS

1. Sale tentatively is slated to start a potential Game 6 at home on Saturday.

2. Houston CF George Springer belted his first homer of the series in Game 4 and is a stellar 13-for-31 with four blasts in the team's seven postseason contests.

3. Boston RHP Craig Kimbrel recorded the first six-out save of his career on Wednesday but allowed one run, two hits and three walks while notching one strikeout.

PREDICTION: Red Sox 7, Astros 4

Both starters have allowed 14 1st inn runs(price in 30 inn and jv in 34)
verlander has worse case catcher but still good numbers
value wise there is no way I lay 180 with stros, even with price 1-10 in playoffs
cannot get a feel on total and 1st inn no-no would lean to score
but keeping it simple...dog the stros out at home
thats some shit when your team weakness is playing at home

LA Dodgers at Milwaukee
By Gracenote

The Milwaukee Brewers have been dominant at home most of the season and will get a chance to reach their first World Series since 1982 on Saturday at friendly Miller Park when they host the Los Angeles Dodgers for Game 7 of the National League Championship Series. The Brewers finished with an NL-best 51-30 record at home during the regular season and have won four of five at Miller Park in the playoffs after Friday’s 7-2 victory in Game 6.

Milwaukee manager Craig Counsell told reporters the fans “put a crazy amount of energy into the dugout” on Friday, and the Brewers fed off that with four first-inning runs before adding on later to allow top reliever Josh Hader to stay in the bullpen. The Brewers are set up for Game 7 with their top starting pitcher Jhoulys Chacin on the hill and the Dodgers will go with talented rookie Walker Buehler, who could be followed by three-time Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw. Los Angeles will try to make back-to-back World Series appearances for the first time since 1977 and 1978, but it was held to five hits on Friday and could not take advantage after David Freese led off the game with a homer. Chris Taylor recorded one of the five hits by the Dodgers in Game 6 and is 7-for-20 in the series, but Manny Machado will have to recover from an 0-for-4 effort with two strikeouts.

TV: 8:09 p.m. ET, Fox Sports 1

PITCHING MATCHUP: Dodgers RH Walker Buehler (0-1, 6.75 ERA) vs. Brewers RH Jhoulys Chacin (2-0, 0.00)

Buehler gave up four runs on six hits and a walk while striking out eight over seven innings to suffer the loss in Game 3 on Monday. The 24-year-old Vanderbilt product, who pitched to a 1.58 ERA over his last 11 starts of the regular season to finish at 8-5, has allowed nine runs over 12 innings in two playoff starts. Orlando Arcia went deep in Game 3 against Buehler, who posted a 3.45 ERA on the road as opposed to a 1.93 mark at home during the regular season.

Chacin has been outstanding in two postseason starts, permitting six hits and five walks across 10 1/3 scoreless innings while recording a pair of wins. The 30-year-old Venezuelan, who won a career-high 15 games during the regular season, beat Buehler in Game 3 as he registered six strikeouts in 5 1/3 frames. Matt Kemp has belted three homers while Cody Bellinger and Joc Pederson have gone deep twice against Chacin, who recorded a 3.79 ERA at home in the regular season.

WALK-OFFS

1. Los Angeles RHP Kenley Jansen, who also was not used on Friday, has allowed two hits and registered seven strikeouts in 5 1/3 scoreless innings this postseason.

2. Milwaukee 1B Jesus Aguilar knocked in three runs Friday and has hit three doubles in his last two games.

3. The Dodgers were 47-34 on the road during the regular season and have dropped three of five such contests in the playoffs.

2018 Playoffs 29-18 (5-5 props, 2-0 series)

Tough call tonight with the 2 best LHP of alltime(Based on career WHIP). Both lineups have seen very little of opposing starter and hit less vs lefties...although the Doyers have quite a good W-L record. Sox definitely hitting much better lately but LA has the horses to wake up any time. This will be the first time Kershaw has been an underdog since July 24, 2012 https://goo.gl/EjDfxG and he has only been pup 32 times in 338 career starts. Kersh 12-7 as a dog of 110 or more(14-4 RL) I respect Sale tons as well and he may be fresher after only 9 starts since the break while CK has 16. I think the game is a tossup and I can't resist taking Kersh catching over 150 and I have definite lean to the under but will hold off for now.

LA Dodgers at Boston

When: 8:09 PM ET, Tuesday, October 23, 2018
Where: Fenway Park, Boston, Massachusetts

By Gracenote

The Los Angeles Dodgers are back in the World Series for the second straight season and the Boston Red Sox won a franchise-record 108 games this year. The powerful teams begin pursuit of a championship when the Red Sox host the Dodgers on Tuesday in Game 1 of the Fall Classic at Fenway Park.

Boston is searching for its fourth World Series crown in 15 years while the Dodgers are attempting to end a title drought that dates to 1988. Left-handers Chris Sale (Red Sox) and Clayton Kershaw (Los Angeles) square off in the opener of the best-of-7 series in which Boston is viewed as favorites. "I like the underdog role," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said at Monday's press conference. "I do know that everyone in our clubhouse doesn't see it as icing on the cake. It's been our goal since last year to win a World Series. So it's a good club over there but we still like our guys, and it's going to be a good one." The Red Sox rolled through the defending World Series champion Houston Astros in five games in the American League Championship Series while Los Angeles prevailed in seven games over the Milwaukee Brewers on the National League side.

TV: 8:09 p.m. ET, FOX

PITCHING MATCHUP: Dodgers LH Clayton Kershaw (2-1, 2.37 ERA) vs. Red Sox LH Chris Sale (1-0, 3.48)

Kershaw will be pitching at Fenway Park for the first time during a stellar career that includes three NL Cy Young Awards. "I don't really think about that stuff," Kershaw said during a press conference. "I appreciate the history and everything that goes along with Fenway Park. ... Check this one off as far as pitching (Tuesday), but I don't really think about the history part of it too much, honestly." The 30-year-old Kershaw has experienced mixed results in the postseason and stands 9-8 with a 4.09 ERA in 28 career appearances (22 starts).

Sale will be pitching for the first time in 10 days and said he is fully healthy now after his mysterious stomach ailment that led to him being hospitalized and missing a start in the ALCS. "There's no holding back now, I think," Sale said during a press conference while sidestepping questions about the stomach. "My job's been the same since the first day I got here. You hand me the ball when you want me to throw it, and take it out of my hand when you want me to stop." The 29-year-old Sale is 1-2 with a 5.85 ERA in five career postseason appearances (three starts).

WALK-OFFS

1. Two left-handers will again match up in Wednesday's Game 2 as Roberts tabbed Hyun-Jin Ryu to start and Red Sox manager Alex Cora chose David Price.

2. RF Mookie Betts continues to work out at second base as Boston looks to get DH J.D. Martinez into the lineup in an outfield spot when the series moves to Dodger Stadium for Games 3-5.

3. Matt Kemp will serve as Los Angeles DH with the opener being in an AL ballpark.

PREDICTION: Red Sox 6, Dodgers 5 :pointandlaugh:

on the same page for the most part with this series...value on the Dodgers especially the first two games...think most folks over thinking the total...everyone saying 7.5 is too low I think its a gift, total should be 7 in my opinion...Dodgers match up much better with the Sox than they did the Brew Crew...if this thing goes over in game one its because the Dodgers light up the scoreboard

Boston'r run production changes significantly with it's lineup changes, they score more with this lineup, i agree with coach that the line should be 7 but I just can't go under and I play more unders than overs

Boston at LA Dodgers

By Gracenote

The Boston Red Sox took the first two games of the World Series at home in impressive fashion and are hoping to ride the wave of momentum all the way across the country. The Red Sox will try to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven set when they visit the Los Angeles Dodgers for Game 3 on Friday.

"We played two good games," Boston manager Alex Cora told reporters. "(Wednesday's 4-2 victory was) a tough one. They pitched well. We put some good at-bats. We pitched extremely well. David (Price) was amazing. And then the bullpen did what they've been doing during October and now we're up 2-0." Cora is using starting pitchers in the late innings to help bridge the gap to closer Craig Kimbrel and got a scoreless inning out of right-hander Nathan Eovaldi in each of the first two games, leaving right-hander Rick Porcello available to start Game 3 opposite Dodgers phenom Walker Buehler. Los Angeles' hitters struck out a total of 20 times in the first two games and the bullpen failed to come through when it mattered. "We've got to find a way to win a baseball game," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters. "I think coming in here I thought we played these guys pretty straight up. Obviously, we come out of here going home down 2-0. But they made pitches when they needed to. And when we stressed them, they made the pitch. And then when it flipped, they got the hit, and we didn't."

TV: 8:09 p.m. ET, FOX

PITCHING MATCHUP: Red Sox RH Rick Porcello (1-0, 4.22 ERA) vs. Dodgers RH Walker Buehler (0-1, 5.40)

Porcello was roughed up a bit in his American League Championship Series start at Houston on Oct. 17, surrendering four runs on seven hits - two homers - in four innings. The New Jersey native allowed one run in a total of 6 2/3 innings over his first three postseason appearances (one start). Porcello is 22-8 with a 4.11 ERA in 41 career interleague games and could end up being of help with the bat after going 3-for-7 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs during the regular season.

Buehler was knocked around a bit in his first two postseason starts but stepped up in Game 7 of the NLCS and struck out seven while allowing one run over 4 2/3 innings against the Milwaukee Brewers. The 24-year-old Vanderbilt product held hitters to a .193 batting average during the regular season while striking out 151 in 137 1/3 innings. Buehler, who is facing Boston for the first time, posted a 1.93 ERA in 13 games (12 starts) at Dodger Stadium during the regular season.

WALK-OFFS

1. The Red Sox are 17-for-41 with 31 RBIs with runners in scoring position and two outs during the postseason.

2. Dodgers 1B/3B David Freese is 5-for-8 in his last three games.

3. The last team to come back from a 2-0 deficit to win the World Series was the 1996 New York Yankees.

PREDICTION: Dodgers 5, Red Sox 2
