Not sure my puck thoughts are worth much but I dont see the Rangers moving on.The Rangers have been outscored by a combined 13-3 in their three setbacks during this best-of-seven set.On the offensive end of the ice over the past two outings, the Rangers have managed nothing aside from a short-handed strike by Rick Nash in Game 3.

The New York Rangersare:

  • 2-8 in their last 10 games against the Metropolitan Division
  • 1-6 in the last seven meetings between the two teams
  • 7-1-4 over in their last 12 road games
The Pittsburgh Penguins are:

  • 21-6 in their last 27 overall
  • 19-7 in their last 26 home games
  • 11-1 in their last 12 games against teams with winning records
Fleury practiced earlier this week before being ruled out for Game 3 and he is questionable for the remainder of the series. With the way Murray is going, there is no reason for Pittsburgh to alter its course and Murray is almost certain to be back in goal on Saturday. Even though the Rangers have been better on the road than at home during the playoffs over the past two seasons, it will be hard for them to bounce back from such a humiliating Game 4 result. New York is 2-8 in its last 10 against the Met Div and 1-6 in its last seven head-to-head meetings with Pittsburgh. The Penguins are 21-6 in their last 27 overall, 19-7 in their last 26 at home, 20-7 in their last 27 against the Eastern Conference, and 11-1 in their last 12 against winning opponents.

Washington has suffered back-to-back regulation losses for the first time all season. I almost felt like backing the Flyers because Washington killed me the last two games. However, at the end of the day, the Capitals are head and shoulders the better team here and hopefully show it today
Thanks and GL Tim

69 Anaheim Ducks* -115 vs Nashville Predators x2
69 Anaheim Ducks/Nashville Predators* Over 5 -115 x half
I dont feel good about this play but it looks lke Ducks are the play here. They have the momentum and have already won two games here in this series. Andersen is on a roll and has allowed just three goals in the last two games, while Rinne has allowed 11 goals in his last three starts. This series probably end tonight with a big road win for the Ducks.

72 St. Louis Blues* -105 vs Chicago Blackhawks x2
I lean Under but will buy it to 6 in a par

I said in my 1st post that the Blues have the tools to beat the Hawks and I'm sticking by that and putting my coin where my mouths is. While all the momentum and experience resides with the Hawks I think the Blues finally get it done and avoid the collapse with a win on home ice.

GL -- Im rooting for Hawks +300 to win series. I think it's going to be tough for Blues to bounce back after crazy gm 6. We shall see.

Did you see the WASH is series fave over PITT. I understand they are 1 seed, but really think PITT handles this team (in less than 7 games too).

Washington wrapped up the #1 seed with like a month to go and it was a foregone conclusion well before that. I'd discount their last 6-8 weeks and look at what they did prior as far as what to expect from them. That team handles the Penguins.

Gogo, U know I'm a Penns fan and my wife is a bigger Penns fan still. When it opened I told her the # and she wanted some of it also.
So we have two U on the series +110 and two on the Penns G1 +124. There will plenty of opps to play more on this matchup as we go. I will be on the Uder until the Caps show me they are ready to play also

kdog, there in no doubt in my mind that the Caps are fully capable of handling the Penns but I dont believe they will unless Wash decides it want to play with one hell lot more intensity than they showed against the Flyers and gave the Capitals a surprisingly difficult time in the first round, pushing them to six games. The Caps scored just two goals in the final three games of the series and will need to re-establish the offensive depth that helped them lead the Eastern Conf in goals per game. That said, the Caps did score eight power-play goals against Philly, so no doubt that they can go off like a rocket. If Caps goaltender who had a 0.84 goals-against average and .968 save percentage in the first round, continues to play as he did against Philadelphia, the Capitals won't need all that much offense anyway. It's worth noting, however, that the Penns lit up one of the greatest goaltenders of a generation, in Lundqist their first-round victory, so Holtby is about to face a whole different level of shooter in this series -- even if he is likely the best net man in the playoffs right now. This should be one helluva game. Im happy as a fan and Im sure the NFL org is

Philadelphia was a better team than the Rangers the last 3/4 of the season. Probably all of the season really but the Flyers got off to a horrible start the first 20 games. Take a look at the NHL advanced stats, the Rangers are a team that spent more time in their own end than every team except the Avs but were bailed out by the highest shooting % in the league.

I think Pittsburgh will be able to maintain their aggressive forecheck against Washington's excellent puck-movers. Guys like Carlson, Orlov, and Niskanen are outstanding puck movers, making it very difficult to consistently apply pressure. If Pittsburgh is able to get in quickly on Washington's defensemen, they should be able to generate some unforced turnovers in the middle of the offensive zone and cause dangerous situation for the Caps. If Washington is able to consistently break out with ease, which I dont see so far, then I expect Pittsburgh to be in for a long series, as Washington's offensive zone pressure coupled with their quick breakouts can make a team feel like they are drowning defensively and make Over the play.

Washington D Orpik is out three games (suspension); he is their most physical defenseman, and a solid penalty killer. Fehr scored GW goal with 4:28 left as Penguins evened series in Game 2, visiting team is now 6-3 in last nine series games. Penguins outshot Caps 28-10 in periods 1-2, 35-24 for game; they are 0-7 on power play in series, Washington 1-6. Pens won nine of last 12 games; over is 7-3-1 in their last 11 games.
