Oregon vs Indiana Discussion Thread

I get it but was the big 12 really weak? Or is that just buying the narrative?

That was one of the most elite defensive teams I've seen in the last 20 years. But big12. Whatever.

Not sure but I’ve never heard the big12 offenses be accused of being weak. A case could def be made that seeing ducks d was a whole new world for tech offense and Morton but the d was absolutely legit, as will be seen when they all playing on sundays.

I tend to like Lanning's aggressiveness but he was 4 of 8 on 4th down against Tech with drives stalling at the Tech:
- 25
- 32
- 2
-46

That type of gambling works against a team that had virtually no chance on offense.

Different landscape vs. Indiana.
Straight out of the Kyle Whittingham school of coaching. Costs him a game or two every year. This year was BYU.

Some of these coaches let analytics get in the way of what is actually happening on the field. There are times where there's nothing wrong with taking three.

I think the Oregon D is legit.
I didn’t see a ton of TT this year but THAT offensive gameplan looked pretty stale and predictable.

Oregon d is for sure legit. Tech didn’t have much chance to implement a game plan cause their qb looked freaking lost. I dunno how many times he ate the ball when I saw a wr open, and when he did throw it he was missing badly. The ducks rush is good no doubt but he was seeing ghost on a bunch of those.

Against a tech d that I think was best in the country at 4th down d. I will say in fairness to him that one from the 32 I think was 4th and 2, it was a great play call and they had the te for a td but Moore just didn’t see him I guess.

As I recall the game there were several times when receivers were open - to a significant degree - and the QB just could not make the throws. I also recall more than a few drops? I thought at the time that Tech could have made a comeback but they were totally unable to execute on anything due to their own ineptness. At least that was my impression at the time

There were absolutely open WRs a bunch of times Morten pulled it down and basically gifted them savks. I remember a few drops but for most part he hardly hit anyone wearing tech jerseys with the damn ball. It was painful to watch, at one point I was wondering why not put someone else in.

Thank you and I wondered same thing. Remembered the back-up was hurt (I think)

SIAP....no Jordan Davison for Oregon tonight. The depth of that RB crew should never be underestimated though. Hell, Makhi Hughes got like 15 carries this year. (He's back in the portal. Sarkisian, you paying attention?)

I always laugh when I see RBs go to Oregon in the portal. Can't remember the exacts but think it was a stud from Tulane that transferred there and ended up as the 6th RB or something similar.

From Playbook;

"The Indiana Hoosiers, currently undefeated
and ranked Number One in the nation,
are 3-71 straight-up in team history
versus AP Top 5 ranked opponents."

All of it is so much an outlier and I think what gets them either this game or next is all of this time stewing on it and hearing about how great and historic they could be. History is rarely scripted, it usually just happens. Hell it happened against Penn State. I feel like they could have set the line at 6 and still taken 60% of the wagers.

I dunno man, I don’t think this coaching staff let complacency happen. Wasn’t that long ago it was pretty much a foregone conclusion bama would be here and win and usually did. This team on a mission.

Wernt 2 of those wins this season tho? Pretty safe to say this ain’t the same Indiana. Doesn’t feel anything like when we said this bout Franklin at pen st.

Whittington now questionable. Ouch. He's big with no Davison and needs to be a go tonight.

Wow, I’m not even sure their rb depth holds up with both them out? Feel like Davidson was prob the more important one for them anyways, Whittington more a home run hitter and I doubt that plays well vs Hoosiers d. Think Davidson physicality be missed.

On gameday it's likely this is taken over at least 100,000 wagers. Action Network. Those are tickets, not money.

Right. I'd side with a lot more Joe Public and less sharp on these numbers.

The BOL are also a lot of Joe blows but also some actual bigger bets.
My stance is already Oregon and under but I'm not sure I play it pregame other than maybe a small stake on +3.5. Would do more at 4.

I think this is a stone under type game but hate taking unders in domes where kicks won't be affected by weather. Thus live betting it is...

Fwiw those were my thoughts well before I saw any of the percentages. Those mean not much to me.

Yes, agree. Dierre Hill would then be Oregon's primary go-to. Home run hitter but not sure he's ready for carry volume.

Whittington looks like he could be hit with a baseball bat over and over and still come up from more. So seems like there's any way he can go he will. Lanning hopes so.

I've done 95% live betting these playoffs and bowls.

Even if I like something I wait a few mins in.

Love Indiana but wanted to see a few plays, then bet accordingly.

I'm at the point that posting plays and keeping records is a novelty because virtually all my bets in every sport are live (including ping pong!)

The practice of pregame capping is fun but reality is I don't know how else to post my plays other than pregame lines even when most of my jack doesn't get played until I get better numbers if that makes sense. I just don't see an advantage to betting before the game starts unless you think that number won't ever be available again in the live market.

Pretty sure I’ve seen rush props for him, not full proof but that usually a pretty good sign they will play.

The one thing I worry about for Indiana is they haven't played a decent opponent since Ohio State in the B10 championship. Basically have been on an extended bye. Alabama shouldn't finish the season ranked after what we've seen out of that conference.

I mean we can certainly argue whether bama belonged but can’t I just argue ducks havnt played anyone close to as good as Indiana since last time they got beat by Indiana?

Crazy that in 2009 GCU had 900 enrolled students

Yet still no football program

Doing a pre-match stake in 1h under 23.5 because I think that's how to approach a game that might not see points in the first 7 minutes, so live total will be as high as I can get it now for the way I'm capping it. This will be chased if it doesn't hit. I see several empty possessions both ways. I also don't grade Moore any lower than Mendoza. I grade Oregon DL as slightly better than IU, OL is a wash to me. Speed at skill positions huge favor to Ducks.

And yes I watched the first game in its entirety and don't expect the same result.

Oregon +3.5
Oregon -3.5 alt line
And under for me tonight

Really like the Ducks tonight ..Just came from the sportsbook , listened to at least 30 people in a row bet Indiana. Ticket writer thinks it's the most money they've carried on a college side all season ....Not sure if that means anything thou ..
Going with the Ducks tonight on theory that's it's difficult to beat a team twice in a season.

Yep. Lanning will have them ready.

Hoosiers def feels square as fuck. I just don’t think it matters. 95% the ppl who win on them will lose it back this weekend anyways 🤣

Rootin' for and likely on the Ducks tonite- Thinking it'll be a close game, is -no- below the sucker bet of the new year? So tempting..

DK has Either team to score 3 unanswered times - no at +150, yes -190
