Opening Day Discussion Thread

Lol baseball doesn't have ratings. In reality they need their day in the sun and tomorrow isn't their day.

I meant that sort of. Their weak ratings are mainly subject to local broadcast. And now half the games are rained out lol

I’m all thumbs today.

Plus money to make the cut. Suggesting he’s a dog to make it sorry
They are exposing themselves to risk but not sure what else they are supposed to do other than hope he shoots 80 one of the days

You and I both know that everyone and their inebriated dogs aren't betting on him to fail and that loser that does when he's on the leaderboard Friday night might as well sleep off the hangover for a couple days

What's up guys, need your help...pretty much the first time I have had the honor of visiting this forum, so need some wisdom from the baseball experts in here.

I still have a small rollover ($2k) to finish up at BM after March Madness, so should be all good after 10 plays at 200 a pop. How would you baseball guys recommend I approach this, so I can take care of this rollover and get my cbb winnings out by the end of the month at that latest. Feedback appreciated, thanks!

Doubt I play anything today but just to watch Bobby Witt and Spencer Torkelson is enough to be a little pumped up

Looks like seattle/twins already been scratched also. I can’t believe the geniuses in minny built a new stadium without a retractable roof!! How dumb was that? 1st month always will suck and god forbid they make a postseason run it be snowing!! Lol
agreed...and since mlb players are a bunch of wimps who don't play through raindrops, i've always said that any new stadium that is built in a shitty weather area (which means all but 5 teams) should be required to have a roof. it's just fucking ridiculous to have all these postponements and never do anything to avoid it.

how many other books do you have? if time is an issue and you don't want to put money at risk on plays you aren't comfortable with, you can take one side at BM and the opposite at another book. with the baseball lines that are hovering around -ev, lots of times, especially if you have access to BAS reduced juice, you can use this tactic without much bleed. if you check everyday periodically and overnight, some of the lines will differ enough where you may only eat 5 cents or so total by doing it. i wouldn't be surprised if you were able to chew the rollover by only sacrificing $50 or less. if you're able to jump on a line right after it moves, sometimes you can even bank a profit.

Whats up man...I cashed out everywhere else after Monday night so only have BM left due to the rollover as I took the 10% at the start of the tourney since most of my money was at BOL so I could hit the early lines.

ah ok, well i guess that wouldn't work then...at least it's a small rollover. maybe nba playoffs?

I put small plays on the 5 national league favs to start as I figure even at the higher than I’m used to playing MLs, if I go 3-2, I will maintain and knock a portion off.

@2daBank Cubs total down to 9 now lol.....

I’d be shocked if we see anymore of that going forward. I hope I’m wrong, I’ll be playing damn near every under they give us a double digit overnight total! I’ll deal with what I really think of it the next day but we should usually have options, obviously if they come with a freaking 11 overnight with those 2 pitchers it wasn’t gonna go higher!

Won't be adding much if anything because bases season means bikini season

Very happy the locals locked up Marte for several years, the last couple seasons seemed like there was zero forethought (for good reason w/LAD in the division) but seems like they now have a vision and he's good enough to build around. Won't be surprised to see them finish 4th in the West and while you might laugh at that, it would be considered a success for most around the org.

Rox were complete idiots for signing Bryant for that amount. He'll go HAM of course but they seriously will be playing to stay out of the basement for many years to come.

As for umps, miss beaker for this

Clearly Cuzzi will always be an under guy and he delivered in KC today, Reynolds use to be such an over ump but it's been a few years now that he's gone chaotic as far as results. Everyone else just does what they do.

Think at some point I moved Layne to leaning under but not positive.

As for basic capping, AZ/SD in the open dome screams over, just not sure if the offenses can take advantage.

Far as roster construction goes, trying to build a contender (I like to assume that what teams strive for, could be wrong, lol) I agree signing Bryant to that deal doesn’t make much sense. I do think it prob buys them some good will with a fan base who can’t be happy. Gotta give them some kinda reason to go to the games! Taking a bag of balls for arenado and paying some his salary for the privilege wasn’t a good look, they needed to do something, lol. Great move for Bryant as coors effect should offset his decline over this contract. Maybe it gives the fan base some hope that they not just throwing in the towel for next 5 years? At least the appearance they trying anyways?
