Pretty much a regular
Mens Hockey

Slovakia +1.5 -105
Canada -4.5 +102

Canada I think proves too much for a slow Norway side

Slovakia is undervalued here, they finished 4th in 2010, have good NHL tending, and most importantly can have Zdeno Chara play 30+ minutes a game, think this is low scoring and wouldn't be surprised if they won it in reg

Men's Figure Skating

To win gold
Patrick Chan +102

Jason Brown to beat Kevin Reynolds -152
Yuzuru Hanyu to beat Evgeny Plyushchenko -220

BOL on the rest of them dude, it'll be interesting to see how cohesive Canada is today. If they have their shit together the score line will probably look like the domination this morning

Oh, and USA USA USA USA

Chan is in tough to win today, Hanyu's SP was very good (too bad Plush pulled out) but Chan is better in the LP so i still like the bet

Brown should beat Reynolds unless he comes out and tells each judge individually to fuck off

I'm on Canada with you today too but layed 5 at -110.

Also took Fin/Nor under 5.5...

Good luck.

thanks guys, hockey was good, I thought the Chinese would finish 1-2-3 in ski jumping and that didn't happen

I'd make the Chan bet again, he had one of worst LPs of the season and after Hanyu fell twice he would have been a heavy favorite to win it, too bad he didnt

that Swiss goalie is like a brick wall haha how the fuck does she handle over 60+ shots.
I think the under in that game is good bet, Canadians will win just a matter of whether they give a crap about how bad they want to beat the Swiss!

Someone pointed out to me that in the final end, the historical percentages of the team with the hammer, and the live line on Bet365 aren't even close. The only example I saw was when Sweden (M) were going into the final end against Canada with hammer, the live line on Sweden was 1.33 or 75%. The stats the put up on CBC were that Sweden win with hammer in that situation 15/17 times lifetime, or 88%. Anyways, a buddy of mine saw that and emptied his Bet365 account on the Swedes at -333 who wound up with a relatively simple draw shot (final CBC percentage was 91% of the time Swedish skip hits that shot) and won the match.

Although everyone is sort of amused by Teeds capping of curling, I'm wondering if there is actually something there. Best of luck man.

Canada Mens Hockey Team -108

tired of people saying they are being outplayed, every team in the tournament has gone in to shutdown mode against them, they are out shooting teams at a 2-1 pace and the only thing holding them back is their shooting %

There have been 35 meetings at the worlds between Canada and the minnows from 2004 to 2013. Canada is 34-0-1, scoring 198 goals and allowing just 44—an average score of 5.7 to 1.3. Canada has outshot the minnows by an average of 40.7 to 22.2, posting a 13.9 percent shooting percentage and a .943 save percentage.Olympic Team Canada has outshot the minnows by an even wider margin on average—47 to 19.7. This makes sense— we expect that the improvement from World Championship Team Canada to Olympic Team Canada is greater than the improvement of Olympic Team Minnow over World Championship Team Minnow. Canada’s save percentage against the minnows is 0.949, right in line with the past decade of World Championship play. It’s only the shooting percentage which has failed.
But is it significant? That’s where things get murky. One hundred and forty-one shots against Sochi minnows is a very small sample. That being said, if we expected that Canada would shoot 13.9 percent against them, a 7.8-percent mark is a very unusual result—we’d expect it to come up about one time in 53.

So you needed another reason to bet on Canada?

outside of them being the best collection of hockey talent put together since the 87 Canada Cup team
I didnt need much

You were 19-6 in curling teed....don't short change yourself. That was an awesome tourney for you...nice job!

It's going to be very tough for the US to get up for Finland. Big let down right?

Yeah, has to be a let down for sure. The US will still want to end up on the medal platform though, as going home w/o any medal will be tough to swallow (and hear about from everyone). I agree it will be tough for them to get up, but I would imagine they will get up and play just fine. Finland is no slouch though, and even if the US gets up and plays with intensity, it's no sure thing they win the game.

both lost to what is their 'big brother' biggest rivals, I do think the timing favors Finland

they get a full 24 hours rest, for some reason the US gets about 19 hours, surprised the game isn't being played at 9pm local in Sochi and for some reason its 7

I do think for the Europeans as a whole though the idea of a Bronze will mean more than it does for the US, Olympics are the pinnacle for a lot of these European countries, whereas for the US and Canadian players it's Gold or bust IMO

but just in general, I think it's an even game, slight edge to Finland and the line has value

enjoy sucking your own dick "big brother" while we worry about other things like laundry and breakfast

seriously enjoy your gold, no one gives a fuck

lol someone's angry

its a sports term, when there's a team another one has trouble with beating and can't seem to get over the hump, was saying they are in the same situation, more of a let down than normal because of it was too, but even because they both had it

The rivalry between Finland and Sweden is commonly compared to one between a younger and older brother.Except now, the younger brother has come of age.
No country can match the three Olympic medals Finland has won since NHL players were first included at the 1998 Nagano Olympics.
One of those medals came at the 2006 Turin Olympics when Finland lost the gold-medal game 3-2 to big brother Sweden, but the Finns have grown up considerably since then.

Tomorrow will be Team Teemu's final Olympic game, so I'm sure he will be up for the game and want to win another medal (his team should want to win one for him as well you would think).

Selanne has played in SIX Olympics for Finland, which is remarkable. He is also the Olympic hockey all-time scoring leader, with 41 points (22G, 19A) in 35 games. He has won a silver and 2 bronze medals in his previous 5 Olympic trips.
