Russia or Canada favored? Russia with home ice gets the nod methinks. I don't know much about the defencemen they have, but word is they are pretty good. Goaltending a bit of a concern compared to Canada. Bobrovski is garbage.

i'm actually "concerned" about canadian goaltending, but the defencemen should help with that.

I don't follow hockey as closely as I used to. Only watch Caps games until playoff time. That being said, on paper it looks like the goaltending is the one area where the US team is better than the others. Quick and Miller have to be the best 1-2 punch in net. Given the Swedes will have Henrik, but the games I've seen him play this season have been so-so at best.

IMO people still think of Quick from the Playoff run. Since then he's had under a 90% Save Percentage. Not saying hes not good but hes gone down hill the past 2 years. But Miller is great for sure.

save percentage 5on5 is generally the best stat to judge a goalie on

but the outside Tim Thomas being a huge outlier at 1st on the list (playing behind Chara 30 mins a night will do that to a guy)

2nd to 20th is about 1% which over a season is a decent amount of goals, but over a 2 week tournament is nothing

no team has a huge advantage in net really, there are about 8 teams with a goalie who could stand on his head

Swiss lines were high then but they have pulled off enough upsets at senior and youth levels lately lately I dont think they are huge dogs like that again outside maybe Canada/Russia
