Ole Miss

This isn't a post to argue whether or not Ole Miss will be punished by the NCAA

This is a post to say that the lingering allegations and uncertain punishment is going to make it incredibly hard to hire a head coach. Someone like Miles might actually be a great hire if he agrees to hang around for only 2-3 years unless he's performed a miracle
 
Disagree. Ole Miss will pay close to $5 million. By the time the season ends their sanctions will be known. Can Ole Miss hire this year's Tom Herman? Probably not, but with 4 months to conduct a search I expect a solid list of candidates. Les Miles will not be on this list.

If the sanctions are known then it is definitely a game changer. Ole Miss really needs their penalties to be known prior to January 2018
 
Ole McElroy named 3 guys on the 1st team this AM

1- David Cutcliffe retuns....no way, I say

2- Chad Morris.....same offense being run....young gun. Problem is he said, and I agree....He is waiting for Sumlin to get canned and he takes TAMU job

3- Butch Davis......65 yr old.....no way, not with what happened at UNC




So Chad Morris seems logical...real good hire

Lame Kitten would be great for Piss....I hate as an LSU fan

Les Miles and I would have an eternal grin for a long long time( no way it happens tho )
 
Ironically, had things fallen differently the last couple of years, you might have seen the return of Coach O to Ole Miss.

McElroy's list is just asinine. There appears to be early mutual interest with Strong and Neal Brown (Troy). Kiffin is interesting, but I don't think that you can bring Joey Freshwater in after firing a coach for fucking around. I like Dino Babers, but I have no idea if he has any interest. I wouldn't count out the interim guy Matt Luke. He's an Ole Miss alum and a good recruiter. If he wins 7 or 8 there will be pressure to hire him. Norvell at Memphis will probably be interviewed. If Morris isn't holding out for A&M, he may get a look. Bobo will probably throw his name in the hat. Les Miles has no shot.
 
Not saying I would hire him but I would give Willie Fritz a call esp if he improves Tulane again this season
 
How can you take a dirty coach who is also a dirty human being in this situation? Were I an Ole Miss Alumnus, I wouldn't stand for it.

Judging by the behavior of boosters at baylor and psu I don't think that group of people are overly concerned with that whole morality thing.

No doubt Norvell gets a look. I like Barbers as well.
How about Chip Kelly? Would he be a fit in in Oxford?

Schrute..... Would Venebles get a look? What do you think he wants to do to in the future?

After Tunsil, and old mate jumping out the window, and the upcoming sanctions and now the coach with a hotline to hookers does the school think it was worth the price they paid? They also were paying him a boatload for no division, let alone conference titles, and lost the last egg Bowl at home

Again, does the school think it was worth it? If not, do they go back to a regular 6-6 team

Also, I have been out of the loop for a couple of days. Were the professional ladies for him or to entertain potential recruits?

It's hard to say before the COI rules, but as of this moment, it was absolutely worth it. There is no reason to believe that the escorts were for anybody other than Freeze at this point.

Chip Kelly would be a grand slam, but I assume that he is holding out for UCLA or A&M. I don't think he's a realistic candidate, but there is no reason not to make the call if you are the AD.

I don't think anybody actually believes that LSU offered $650k. I think it's more likely that his mom meant $65k, which was probably bullshit too, but it shows you who we are dealing with here.
 
Ole Miss has received a two-year bowl ban and multiple scholarship restrictions. Show causes for every coach. Details soon.

They were trash for a decade and that's one of the NCAA staples. Ole Miss isn't.

Kinda curious how Lane woulda done with an actual USC allotment of schollys
