hah, did I really say I was excited for the football season in 2008. This just in..

LT- Jamon Meredith......Previous Medical Redshirt. Must sit out 1st (2) Games.
RB- Mike Davis............Suspended 1st (2) Games.
DT- Kenrick Ellis...........Suspended 1st (3) Games.

Good job Carolina, way to start the new yr off, all 3 were likely starters/significant contributors at their positions.

Just had to bump this for laughs..

Dion Lecorn arrested for weed last night, suspension pending. He is going to be a soph wr, came on at end of yr as frosh to compliment McKinnley.

--------------------------

Cayce (WLTX) - USC wide receiver Dion LeCorn is charged with one count of simple possession of marijuana.

LeCorn, 19, was arrested Sunday evening around 9 p.m. in a parking lot at Riverside Estates Apartments in Cayce.

Authorities say LeCorn, 19-year-old USC wide receiver Matthew Clements and another man, 18-year-old John Casselberry, were detained after authorities responding to loud music from their car. Officers say they smelled marijuana inside.

Investigators say LeCorn told them he had purchased the marijuana from an individual at the Five Points Food Lion.

According to the police report, Clements is wanted by authorities in Florida for a failure to appear bench warrant. He will not be extradited to Florida, neither he nor Castleberry were charged in Sunday night's incident.

A Crimson Tide football spokesman had no immediate comment.
Elder, a 6-foot-3, 271-pounder, was redshirted last season.
Under state law, first-degree robbery involves either a "deadly weapon or dangerous instrument" or someone causing "serious physical injury to another." Both charges are Class A felonies.

And the stupidness continues..

Louisville dismisses Council after armed robbery arrest
<hr noshade="noshade" size="1" width="100%"> ESPN.com news services

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Louisville coach Steve Kragthorpe has dismissed cornerback Rod Council from the team after Council allegedly robbed a gas station early Wednesday morning. Council, 22, was charged with one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon. He was being held on $50,000 bond at the Haywood County Detention Center in Waynesville, N.C., on Wednesday evening. "We do not tolerate that type of behavior in our football program," the school said in a statement. "Fortunately, no innocent bystanders were injured or harmed in the process." Council, who had one year of eligibility remaining, had 32 tackles and two interceptions last year for the Cardinals. Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

"We do not tolerate that type of behavior in our football program,"

LOL, it's certainly good to know that armed robbery is not allowed in the Athletic Department of Louisville. Such a relief...

ETG, yes it is stupid, isn't it; it really just goes back to the saying that you cannot take the 'hood' out of the kid, no matter where you place him.

Elder got 26 bucks... haha what a fool.

its now rumored that it was part of a fraternity hazing prank and he had a BB gun.

hey hey hey Tide..

It just must be an SEC thing right now, seems they are overwhelming the trouble market.

First-team all-SEC junior scuffles with security guard

Posted: Saturday February 23, 2008 1:58PM; Updated: Saturday February 23, 2008 1:58PM
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Alabama safety Rashad Johnson was arrested early Saturday morning after allegedly knocking a security guard down at an off-campus bar, Tuscaloosa police said.
Johnson was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct after his arrest at 2:55 a.m. at the Legacy bar on the strip near Alabama's campus, police spokesman Robert Fourt said in a statement Saturday. Johnson, 22, was released on $500 bond shortly after being booked.
Officers had spotted a disturbance outside the bar, which was closing, Fourt said. Legacy security personnel were escorting someone from the bar when Johnson allegedly attempted to intervene and pushed one of the security officers, who fell out the door and onto the ground.
Johnson, a first-team All-Southeastern Conference pick, was arrested after a brief struggle, Fourt said. Additional officers from city and university police responded after a large crowd gathered during the incident.
A Tuscaloosa officer received a minor abrasion to his knee during the arrest, but did not require medical attention.
Johnson, a former walk-on, led the Crimson Tide with 94 tackles and six interceptions as a junior. He finished in a three-way tie for the SEC lead in interceptions.
It was the second arrest involving a Tide player in the past week. Defensive lineman Jeremy Elder was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery last Sunday night.
Nobody else was arrested in the incident involving Johnson, who was selected a captain by his teammates after the season. The arrest was first reported by the Press-Register of Mobile.

Another one bites the dust.

USC PRESS RELEASE

CARLOS THOMAS SUSPENDED FROM FOOTBALL SQUAD

Cornerback Suspended From Team Indefinitely

COLUMBIA, S.C. (March 4, 2008) - University of South Carolina defensive back Carlos Thomas has been suspended indefinitely from the Gamecock football team for a violation of team rules and team behavior, Head Coach Steve Spurrier announced today.

Thomas, a 5-11, 192-pounder from College Park, Ga., started seven games at cornerback in 2007 and has made 20 career starts over the past three seasons. He was credited with 17 tackles and six pass breakups in 2007.

Honestly Thomas isn't very good. It hurts to lose a player like that at this point in his career. However it won't really hurt you guys that much even if he doesn't return.

You are very right. I refrained from posting my actual feelings on Carlos Thomas but I'll hint that I feel the same way about Blake Mitchell as I do CT.

The kid comes in with all the speed in the world (just clocked 4.38) in winter workouts but is a gigantic pussy. I don't know how many times I saw him slide to avoid contact. Last yr he got a little better but there is just mind blowing pass plays he does not make. His spot as a starter was far from a lock, Stoney Woodson and him are set to battle it out however depth wise this does hurt because he is a vet and has been around. Overall, he never fullfilled the amount of talent he has

lots of questions waited to be answered at the U of Conn

wide reciever position is wide open especially after # 1 WR terrence jeffers decided to transfer

quarterback race will be a heated 3-way battle with Tyler Lorenzen the returning starting QB, with ND transfer zach fraser and frosh cody endres trying to take his spot.

Stephen Garcia = the next Blake Mitchell, except......Blake actually saw the field. Cocksucker

What really really really pisses me off here is that after Brantley decommitted from Texas, he called SOS and wanted to play for him at SC but Spurrier promised Garcia we would only take 1 QB, Brantley goes to UF while Garcia notches 3-4 arrests and 3 suspensions from the football team.

It appears Stephen Garcia at the very least will be suspended until August 15th by the athletic department in addition to being forced to move off campus and attend alcohol counseling.

It remains to be seen whether Steve Spurrier will add anything to that.

It also remains to be seen whether Garcia will decide to remain at USC at the end of the semester. A transfer is still possible.

That's the latest.

ETG what gets me is that he was standing with a cooler on the curb outside of the dorm rooms. Of course everyone drinks underage in college but you would be hard pressed to be more of an idiot. You are probably the most unique looking person in Columbia, everyone knows you're under 21 and you've met the entire Richland County Sheriff's Department face to face. So what do you do...apparently you stand next to a full cooler in the middle of campus holding a beer bottle. The kid isn't committing horrible crimes, but its almost like he wants to get arrested for these misdemeanors. It just doesn't make a bit of fucking sense to me
