Nonito Donaire vs Guillermo Rigondeaux (4/13/13)

Aztec4Life

Montezuma Mesa Survivor
Might as well get this thread started since the fight is basically a week away. Donaire vs Riggy should be a good one. 2013 is shaping up to be one hell of a year!

I'll post the odds and some thoughts when I get home.

I can't wait for this fight. The only thing I'm certain of, is that I'll be looking to play the over (if it's at 9.5).

Im very tempted to take Donaire here.....Rigo is not gonna be able to stand there and do his shadowbox routine vs Donaire

This feels like gettin a Klitchko real cheap to me jab....and I like Rigo

I'm absolutely baffled to see money coming in on Rigondeaux. This is an insane step up in competition at the pro level for him and it'll also be the hardest puncher he's faced by a MILE. There's no doubt he was hurt twice in that marroquin fight and to me his defense is very suspect at the pro level. Now he's fighting one of the most dangerous counter punchers in the sport who has comparable hand speed and can absolutely starch people with the left hand? Go figure. at -180 I'm gladly loading up on Donaire who's been here multiple times, is a complete professional and will be 100% ready, trains with arguably the best camp on the planet, and knows this is a MASSIVE statement fight. There is no way Rigondeaux can come in and do his Ali shuffle dancing and showboat boxing in this fight. I think he has to hurt Donaire early and force him into a more cautious approach otherwise the left hand will find a home and when it does its Rigo looking up at the lights. Donaire and Garcia know the stakes of this fight and I highly doubt they come in to it without the mindset of making a huge statement after the disaster that was the Mares negotiation.

Who the fuck is Son of Balrog...and where has he been all my life?

Boxing crew taking over CTG!

agree with the over plays posted here.

rigo needs to control or end this fight early. he isn't known for his cardio or stamina. donaire ain't going to stand in the middle and exchange punches. he will be methodical in cutting up rigo in bits and pieces.

small play on donaire as well.

good luck gents!

On The Filipino Flash as well here for a Full Unit.

Riggy an exciting fighter...love to watch him bang. Having said that, Donaire is simply on another level.

nice write up dude

we are a small community here as far as CTG, but the few that post gloves know what is up

Please contribute when you can....and I agree with your perception.....I think Donaire does everything better, and on top pf that is huge and rabgy at this weight class.

I will be here for the live fight so lets ingame this bitch!!!!!!

anyone else around?

BTW guys, just my 2 cents but Id watch the over bet here...I think ND can ice Rigo....If you are gonna lay the 2-1 anyway I think flash is the better bet:shake:

I'll never forget the Donaire vs Darchiniyan fight. Nonito flooring Vic for the first time, and knockin him the fuck out.

I said it all over here, buzzed good so no big write up. ND does everything better than Rigo. I like Rigo...maybe best ever ammy of all time. ND is a big ass bad ass...rangy, powerful...can do it all. I am excited for the bout, but like I said in multiple comments above.....get a sweet-n-low line here...Im gonna take advantage

GL all...enjoy the fight and let's IN GAME this bitch!!!!

I wish I could get that one...and Wealth TV has some nice fights lately.....that is not available to me

Hey Aztec...don't know much about these guys, don't follow boxing like I used to. Gimme a quick preview of what to expect/look for...

KK i have a lil company comin over so i cannot writeup
but i will be in and out the ingame

gl guys....ill be in and out

Sure KK.

To sum it up, Riggy is more of an aggressive brawler. I expect him to bring it early and try to catch Donaire with somethin big. Riggy isn't known for his conditioning or endurance, and he tends to fade in the later rounds.

I'm on Donaire. Simply put, he's been there and done that. The superior boxer, with much better footwork. He'll use the ring to his advantage and force Riggy to keep moving and chase him around the ring. I expect it to go the distance, with Donaire picking Riggy apart as the fight progresses. Riggy's only chance is to hurt Donaire early, but that's a tall order, especially since Donaire is one of the best counter punchers in the game. Just ask Vic Darchiniyan.

Still, Riggy's fights always seem to be exciting, and Donaire is a Top 5 P4P in the World, so I expect an entertaining scrap. Three possible outcomes IMO...Donaire by Decision, Donaire by KO/TKO in the later rounds, or if Riggy gets lucky, he stops Donaire early on.

Just to add, for most of the day while Donaire's price to win was dropping his price to win by stoppage stayed solid as a rock. I really think Rigo gets hurt badly in this fight if he cannot bring it to Donaire early. Got my first Shiner Bock ruby red birds of the season and am ready to rock this shit boys.

Don't get me wrong...Riggy is damn good, and no slouch of a boxer. His record speaks for itself. However, Donaire has dominated elite competition, and has proven he's more than worthy of a Top 5 P4P ranking. This is the biggest step up in competition in Riggy's entire career so far. Donaire's preparation and conditioning is second to none...so, heis gonna come ready to scrap, and he will stick to his gameplan.

that weird shadow shit wont work here tho

Nice, thanks Tec... Now I got a good idea of what to look for here. Sounds like Riggy has a Floyd type of showboating style. I like those type boxers lol.

I like Riggy too

just not here
