Been a pretty sweet off season for the Rangers.
Grabbed Adam Fox who should be a solid 2-way defenseman for cheap
Pickup Trouba for pennies on the dollar to sure up the defense.
Draft Kakko with the #2 pick
Dump Vesey who has been relatively useless in his time here and then get Panarin.

Kravtsov and Shesterkin signed and will be in NY this fall

Not sure if Lias Andersson ever going to make the next step, but he's just 20 and Chytil seems to have a bright future ahead.

Their rebuild is looking like it may pay off as soon as next year or the year after. They've managed the cap pretty well - 2 more years with Hank, Shatty, Staal and Brendan Smith. Next year they may have to make a tough decision on Kreider but all in all I'm pleased here.

NY Rangers also just signed Artemi Panarin from the Bluejackets for 7 years
Florida Panthers also grabbed goalie Sergei Bobrovsky with Roberto Luongo retiring
AND Bluejackets also loose Matt Duchene to the Predators on a 7 year contract o_O

Nazem Kadri traded to the Avalanche for Alex Kerfoot and Tyson Barrie (I think the Leafs win this one)

also emerging Hurricanes RFA star Sebastian Aho was tendered a five-year, $42.27 million offer sheet by the Montreal Canadiens on Monday. The offer has an average annual value of $8.454 million. The Carolina Hurricanes have seven days to match or they will receive a first-round pick, second-round pick and third-round pick in the NHL Draft as compensation from the Canadiens.

in a VERY surprising move the Sharks let their captain Joe Pavelski move to the Dallas Stars three years @ $7 million per BUT retain Temo Meyer

Islanders goalie Robin Lehner signed a one year $5 million contract with the Chicago Blackhawks

Wayne Simmonds signed a one year $5 million contract with the NJ Devils

Dallas Stars get an all time NHL good deal signing former Anaheim Ducks forward Corey Perry for one year at only $1.5 million

WOW!!! the Bluejackets continue to lose players. Ryan Dzingel agreed to terms on a two-year, $6.75 million contract with the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday. It has an average annual value of $3.375 million. that is now their goalie Sergie Bobrovsky to the Panthers, Artemi Panarin to the Rangers and Matt Duchene to the Predators

Nikita Gusev was traded to the New Jersey Devils by the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday for a third-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft and second-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.

The 27-year-old forward and restricted free agent agreed to terms on a two-year, $9 million contract (average annual value $4.5 million) with the Devils. He signed a one-year, entry-level contract with the Golden Knights on April 14 after he was named MVP of the Kontinental Hockey League but did not play any games with Vegas.

I guess Golden Knights general manager George McPhee figured just too much of a hit on the salary cap for a player unproven in the NHL :(

also the VGK resigned D-man Deryk Engelland for $700K with incentives up to $1.50 million. "Big D" probably being groomed for a front office job if and when he retires. VERY popular player in Las Vegas :)
