If the Jags fail to help Foles out with any pass-catching weapons then I definitely lean under 8 wins there early because whats the point of basing optimism on Foles if he has nobody to throw to (team led the league in drops last year and Foles can‘t run at all like Bortles who has one of the best ypc in nfl history for a qb)

Defense i think takes a hit with Telvin Smith not playing in 2019, Malik Jackson gone (which is how they got Foles). Safety has gotten a total overhaul and is a big question mark with its unproven youth.

Just for my good friend @VirginiaCavs i like the Jets over 7. They have had good first seasons under the last several coaches and I expect nothing different this time under Gase.

Darnold is ready to be a star, Leveon will help and I expect the defense to be better under Williams. The biggest issue is a terrible offensive line but I will stay positive and pick the Jets to win 9 or 10 games this season. For the first time in a long time the Jets have a young franchise QB and they are ready to win.

I want some sports- (and life-) related happiness for my friend brewers :) Can we get Scarfy‘s take on the Jets?

Based on projected win totals, Jets have the second-easiest schedule. So thats good

I know you know your team and you’re not one at all to be a blind homer. Reasons pls?

fair question. i actively try never to let my home biases get in the way of my wagering. in fact, the fact that i am optimistic about this team kills me...philly fans all know that when we get optimistic crazy bad shit happens. so with that being said, last year almost everything that could go wrong did go wrong, and they still found a way into the playoffs and won a game. This year, their MVP candidate is back and healthy. Hes looked good so far in camp and should be close to 2017 form

DeSean is a great addition for this offense. Sure hes on the wrong side of 30, but his speed isnt slipping and he is a perfect guy for this offense to go deep, catch a few bombs, and open the field up for others. He has looked good and apparently Wentz and him are developing unreal chemistry.

With him stretching the field, Ertz, Jeffrey, Agholor and Goedert should have all the room in the world to maneuver. This is huge because last year the team did not have a guy like Desean to take the top off defenses. It was supposed to be Mike Wallace and he got hurt early.

RB was a weakness last year too, and they addressed it over the offseason. Jordan Howard is very average, but that is better than what we had. Josh fucking Adams was our leading rusher last year. Miles Sanders has flashed and could be the number 1 by week 6. maybe earlier. Either way its better than last year.

PFF has their o-line as the best in the NFL

On defense, they will be frustrating at times but they are good enough to do a decent enough job and let the offense win games. I really think this offense is going to be dynamic as long as Wentz is healthy. Like next level special.

From a schedule standpoint, I fully expect 5-1 at the very worse within the division. Any loss to NYG or WAS is a disaster, and I think they can at least split with Dallas.

They start off with a home game against Washington. Barring something awful, that is a W. Then they go to Atlanta and while i will be pounding the fuck out of that over, it is absolutely a lose-able game.

Home vs Detroit should be a W. Away at GB on a Thursday could be an L. I'd love to see them win one of those atlanta and gb games.

They have Jets at home. That should be a W. At Bills should be a W. They have a tough home stretch of Bears-bye-Pats-Seahawks which is tough. 2-1 there would e good.

So I am rambling a bit on the scheule part so lets make it easy:

Wins: at Washington, Washington, at New York Giants, New York Giants, Dallas, Jets, Bills, Dolphins, Lions, Seahawks

Likely Losses: At Falcons, at Packers

Toss ups: at Dallas, Pats, at Vikings

So in my worst case scenario above, they win 10. Maybe they slip up and play a dud somewhere in the ones i have as sure wins. They could very well win one of the others. Honestly, im being generous givin the Falcons and Packers wins there, but I do want to be reasonable. But there is not a game all season where they have no chance. 12-4 is possible. 11-5 is likely 10-6 would be a disappointment.

IF WENTZ STAYS HEALTHY i really don't see a single digit win season

IF WENTZ STAYS HEALTHY i really don't see a single digit win season

This.

And I think he’s going to...played him at 16-1 as Comeback Player of the year...think the playbook if he’s healthy reverts to him being more mobile and looking like the potential-MVP from 2 years ago than like the all-season-not-fully-healthy CW of 2018.

I like philly to win the nfc east -105 instead of laying -150 or so on the rsw over. If they win 10 games there’s a high probability they’re winning the division. I wrote a decent amount about the eagles in my thread, really like them this year if Wentz stays healthy

I‘d also like to see Philly‘s entire secondary not get injured again

Yup. 9-7 last year with wentz going down. No deep threat, depleted secondary, udfa rookie starting at rb....everything went wrong. And its all fixed and they just need one more win than that to hit the total!

Personally not super high on em this year, I do think after the two more firsts next year and being in vegas team will be a playoff squad

But louis riddick is, and him and my main man dan orlovsky are the best two nfl xs and os guys the world wide leader has

He should have looked at their schedule before posting that. On strength of schedule alone i cant see them getting to 6

If Jimmy G stays healthy the 9ers sail way over 8 wins. They should be 2-0 when they return home to face the Steelers and the Browns before getting an early bye. We'll know a lot at that point.

Team was competitive in almost every game with a walk on 3rd string QB at the helm. 0 defensive line and a weak LB core. No team is getting a bigger upgrade at QB with the return of GQ, and they have arguably the best defensive line now in all of football.

Still so many ? marks but an easy schedule, a great coach, and that defensive line make me think we have a potential winner here.

Some books offering 20-1 still on them to win NFC. Really like that.

Walk on 3rd string qb who put up same performance is the most overrated qb in the league
