NCAAF In-Game Thread

Texas losing to Florida is why they shouldn't get in, not OSU. Sark and the announcers are already lobbying

I'd like to know how many times .....

The Aggies, with a very average passer in MR - had him drop straight back, no play action, MOTION, or shifts - and just sent guys downfield, hoping : the protection holds up for 3-4 seconds - guys get open - he doesn't get killed. IF you want to run a pro-style O - GET A GREAT PRO-STYLE PASSER FFS.
>> I get it they were down - but not that much. A sharp play caller (like me ha) would roll him out about every other play/ moving pocket/bootlegs - take him out to rest him a bit (run Wildcat) - VARY THE TEMPO - stop being so predictable. This looked like the old Jimbo Fisher O. Texas D loved it - just teeing off on somebody every play it seemed.....

I'm not advocating Texas get in, but the issue is that if they had played Sam Houston St instead of Ohio St, and still had that loss against Florida, they are a shoo in for the playoff. Despite what they said in the offseason, this committee only cares about the # in the loss column with no context needed. The committee is poised to end both marquee OOC games and conference championship games with their decisions in the next two weeks

Checking in from Alabama.

- I thought A&M would win a tight game tonight. Horns dominated in the 2H and just outplayed A&M on both sides. Credit to Sarkisian at the half. Manhanded A&M over the last 30 minutes.
- Any coach is going to lobby for his team. When you've defeated three top 10 teams and played the #1 team in the country to one score, at its house, you damn sure better, Sarkisian.
- Good for Manning. Continuing to progress and made some huge plays tonight. Solid kid. Started the season under water with stupid expectations but he is persevering.
- Losing at Gainesville will ultimately be the Horns downfall in not making the tournament. Too bad, as it's a better team than A&M. Can't really deny that after tonight.

While I don't disagree with what you say, loss #3 against a decent team is easier to explain than a loss to Florida. It also seems that many other teams get dinged for close wins but when they talk SEC it's always how tough the conference is. If other teams get dinged for close wins then Texas should get dinged for their close win at UK.

Texas has improved no doubt - but looking back at their season I'm not sure they should be REWARDED.

Absolutely disgusting: UTEP
Weak to bad: Fla - Kentucky - Miss St
Solid/strong effort - Vandy - OSU - Sam H
OK - SJSU - Hogs - Georgia
Great - OU - A&M

Before this week #23 SP+ : O #39 / D # 17 / ST #56

Would they beat : Miami, Penn St, USC, Michigan, Mizzou, even Iowa?

NO way this is a play-off team IMO.

It's really an impossible exercise because schedules are so imbalanced across the sport, and it's very true that the committee will show favoritism to teams based on name or conference affiliation. I advocate that we use computers, but TV won't allow that because they want the brands in. I also have a really hard time accepting that there are multiple teams that entered this week's game with guaranteed playoff appearances no matter what happens on the field this week or next

Vols are only kinda good

Elko’s a defensive guy.

What does that say about the Aggies?

Best part for me was I got to watch with a UT fan (brother-in-law), and I put $40 on the Horns to turn me into a UT fan, too.

Haha this clown just said it's been a season of streaks for the Hawkeyes. Fucking goob

FWIW dept - McElroy thought first 2 possessions for each team in The Game if successful for MI could create a tightness in tOSU that might well put de javu on their minds

Rare fry of broadcasters for me. But you have one fucking game to do on ESPNU for the week and you call ISU the Hawkeyes. It's possible you shouldn't be broadcasting going forward.

2 things.

You can't head butt a ref. He should be ejected.

I understand the frustration about two blatant holds but that's how it goes.

Second,

The QB was shorty. Horrific late TD call.

He's not in. Ridiculous to call that a TD on the field.
