NCAA Week Three

great thread horn.

does the change in venue and weather impact alter your thoughts on the houston game? not to sure what the sky will be like over smu's campus come saturday...
 
I am a Maryland graduate and big fan of Football and Basketball, rarely am I wrong on the way UM will play in big games! Having said that, UM is in big trouble this week playing this extremely fast Cal team! UM usually starts slow, but doesn't lose to a team like MTSU and Cal could have scored 100 last week. The early start time is the only thing in UM's favor, but even if Cal starts slow they will wake up eventually and then its slaughter time! I bet Cal -11 and -12 and -14, then the total came out at 50 and Cal might score that by themselves! Big bet obviously on Cal and over final: Cal 51-20!

lol. they are boarding up the shop right now, but my house is in sugar land so i'm staying put. might try to swing by bond and get drunk if weather permits. i'll ask aj or edward if they want to go, which i already know the answer to.

Just took it big. Yeah there are distractions I'm sure of having to move the game but to be quite honest alot of people here in Houston don't think this hurricane is going to do something. About 90% of my friends are staying put.

I think Rita has made alot of people think the hurricane is going to miss us again.

Not my ass. I'm safe in sound in Austin.

I agree. I think the 120 deaths from people trying to evacuate from Rita which never touched Houston is why a lot of people stayed.

Now all my buddies are trying to get out and it might be too late.

I just grabbed Baylor -3 (-115) for a very small play. I wanted some T.V action like I did UNC last night.

Bjorks take in his thread is spot on about the travelling team having to adjust. Baylor is not going to be effected by the hurricane one bit as the path has moved out of Waco's site.

Robert Griffin also looks like he might flourish in Briles system soon. He was one of the fastest HS kids in the state of Texas last year and if Briles can get him to pass effectively in his system...well look out.
 
'Horn, rain and wind in Dallas tomorrow, up to 35 mph. I lean Houston too but how they gonna cover if they can't pass the way they're used to?
 
Its the TT offense. Lots of short passes hoping the WRs can break loose and pick up huge YAC yards.

The wind will be a factor but the Coug offense isn't one that will bomb it away. I would think the wind would be factor more for those teams...then again I could be wrong because I've never played QB in 35 mph winds.

Also this hurricane has been moving all over the place so I'm not sure I'd trust the forecast just yet.

Texas canceled their game and the storm may not even touch Austin like first thought.
 
What up Horn....how many units do you have on Baylor tonight? See the Reesing prop at my book but it's O/U 32 (under -200)....lot of juice for a prop bet...

Yeah that's alot of juice for that prop. I hit my prop at sportsbook.com. Not a great book but they have some great prop lines that can be had.
 
Thanks Horn....yeah -200 is a shit ton of juice....esp if KU gets behind early and Reesing is forced to fire...would you still play it for 4 units at -200?

I'm not one to bitch about calls but there were some pretty shitty calls that went against USF. Not sure why the hell they played zone the first half and let Reesing pick them apart.

That being said Reesing was absolutley incredible. Like I thought the OL would have issues and the running game...Reesing just kept bailing them out with huge plays running for his life.

I can't wait to get Gilbert on campus if he is suppose to be that far ahead of Reesing was when he was a Jr. at Lake Travis.

Time to get em tomorrow...

Since you guys started it...

The first TD that Kansas got Reesing knee was down on the third down play outside of midfield.

The FG Sfla had to kick the SS for Kansas was holding the WR hip on the third down play in the endzone. Pass interference should've been called.

Kansas was holding the DE quite a bit tonight.

Ressing though in the end made some remarkable plays. That kid is a straight up baller.
 
Reesing was great

Couldnt believe Leavitt didnt challenge the spot on that first KU drive...it was right in front of him....then he does challenge the call on Grothe going past the line, was obvoius that we went past.

Great game......nice living in Big 12 country where KU/MU lines get bumped....had USF -3, split the bet at -3 and half at -2.5 -125, so got some winnings.

GL tomorrow.

Good call on UH. A lot of people downplayed the storm and while it doesn't look as bad today last night from about 1 am to about 8 am today was horrifying for those in Houston I've heard. A lot of people I know were scared for their life from the 100 mph winds. That was probably on the mind of the Coug players all night. I know i couldn't sleep and i was in Austin worried about friends.

UH didn't wake up until the third quarter today and it was too late.

I'm at 1-3 (Cal is done) right now down big unit wise though so I need some late teams to step up.

I probably need to quit chasing but I've had my eye on this game all week and should've hit it when the line was better.

Greg Robinson I'm sure has already put his house on the market for sale. You don't bring a west coast offense to a state where option football rules. He just wasn't a good fit here and i think PSU blows them out in the Carrier Dome.
 
I just got moosed AGAIN on the ISU game. This is painful. For the first time that I can remember I'm getting fucked for jumping on early lines.

I got USF @ -4. I could've gotten -3 if i waited.

ISU gives up a 81 yard punt return with 5 minutes left down to go down by 14. They can't score on the 1 yard line but ended up getting a safety. I had +11.5 they lose by 12.

I'm about to throw my computer out the damn window.
 
I hear you on that ISU game, Horn. I was on that too but I waited for it and got 14. Went from a push to a win.

Both teams played like shit, although Iowa less so.

Wisconsin -1 @ Fresno St. (3 UNITS)

Fresno St. win over Rutgers doesn't look as impressive now that UNC completely dominated the Knights in every phase especially up front. The game vs Rutgers was a lot closer then the 24-7 box score. Fresno St. scored two TDs in the final 7 minutes to pull away.

Dude, anyone who won on ISU today was just lucky as shit. Any other coach but pussy ass Ferentz would have actually tried to get that 1st down at the end and not take a cheap safety. The :moose: was there in that game, but it was the Iowa backers who got it.
 
Chasing today actually helped me pull to .500 at 7-7 -11.20 units though as the big plays and juice added up.

Brutal week for me and I'm ready to get it over with (Hurricane Ike, VY losing his mind, Texas game cancelled, got free tickets to the cancelled Texans game, and losing 3 games on the card by 1 point or less).
