Atlanta didn't extend him last Summer so he's looking for a max extension somewhere else. Thinks Washington is his best chance. I dont like him. A stat monkey Iverson clone imo. Whoever gives him max is a fool. Same with AD, but for him it's simply injury. He'll be 33 no way is he staying healthy. But sounds like Atlanta might do it with AD. Big mistake imo.

Hard to figure his value. If Gobert is worth 5 1s and Bane 4 1s what is Giannis worth? Then u have Luca deal. So who knows. Read many contenders don't care about the injury. But that's twice this year. Achilles next? And of course he likely needs to agree to extension with new team. Interesting

I think when some of us just play recreational shit (hell I'm 50) we know that a strained calf could mean something worse is on the horizon
These thoroughbreds aren't wired like that at their age and a torn Achilles at that age, like an ACL/MCL/PCL isn't career threatening at that age
What's crazy is as medicine has advanced, the Achilles/knee stuff has become like TJ in baseball...yet microfracture surgery, no one really has rebounded well.

I've seen some smoke around the Mavs but only other one that made sense was Miami
I respectfully disagree. He's turned himself into a great offensive player but he can't guard anyone. Neither can Luca or Lebron at 41 hence the Lakers issues on D. If some lousy team like NO trades a 1 for him and gives him the max they won't get much better. Don't get me wrong I like him but just don't think he's near a max guy. It's an intangible by imo great players make the rest of the team MUCH better. I don't think Reaves does that. But he can score. He's learned from Luca and Lebron to lower the shoulder and get to the rim and get fouled - live at the line. Flagg starting to understand that now too. The way NBA Refs call the game you'll get 10 a game at free throw line. Wanna beat Lakers - don't foul them. Luca and Reaves both around 33% from 3. Let em shoot from outside. Anyway, I think some GM will agree with you and give him near max so we will see. It'll be interesting whether it's the Lakers.

Why would Nets bail two teams for such a low price? I would ask for either good young player or at least for Bucks to cough up one of those 1st round picks for this...

Discussion is good and obviously he isn't obvious max player (especially with current rules) - otherwise we wouldn't discuss it. I do think he is near max - not max. But I agree with you about issues on D, but I assume Bron retires after this season. Looking at champs the last 15-20 years, we seen whole bunch of types. I can't say that Jokic, Curry or Dirk great defenders as well. I think that if Bron retires and we keep Luca, Smart, Hayes, Reaves and add rim protector and few solid 3&D this is a team that probably still won't take the title, but will be constant threat for the next 3-4 years and with some luck can go the full distance...
It always the question of who you can get instead and if they can get better player for same contract... I'm just not sure the answer is yes...
I get that Flagg took the spot of white player from USA, but Reaves can still get crumbs from that as well as far as marketing goes - so that's another bonus for signing him imo...
I see Reaves in that $25m per season category. But I think some shit team will give him a near max deal at $45m+. And he'll score and put up numbers but they won't win much more. Just imo. Just doesn't impact a game like Dirk or Joker. But I've been wrong before.

yeah I don't do much internet scrolling - mainly use Yahoo.com, MSN.com and ESPN.com and they seem to be pretty good about being accurate. Clippers are the best team in the NBA since December. I think they're 17 3 last 20. I mean the team is Leonard Harden and Zubac. So this doesn't make alot of sense. Interesting as he recently said he likes it there and feels they can go far. Almost 100% sure it's about $ with him. Fyi I hate Harden and clippers. But I think Leonard is best player in NBA right now and they're rolling. So didn't make much sense. But now it does. I.e. Harden using this roll they're on to try to get more guaranteed $ next year. Something like that. It's $ with him.
I agree their depth is thin. But they've been red hot. If Leonard healthy they have punchers chance. But as much as I hate him Harden is big part of their current success.

Can't argue but leave it to Harden to destroy chemistry on a red hot team. He's a great player but selfish. I just read only $13m of his $42m player option next year is guaranteed. Im 99% sure that is what this is about. Guessing clippers don't want to change and guarantee it. Feel sorry for clippers fans. They were so red hot. But that's what u get with Harden. But I hate Ballmer and clippers so makes me a little happy.
