Monty Williams...and other coaching moves...

Largest coaching deal in league history.

Something about Spartans (Gores, Ishbia etc), they love to spend money!

Phoenix GM destroyed team getting Durant imo. Not Williams fault but still Think Williams vastly overrated. Got nothing out of Ayton for example. Dont think this will do doodley squat for Detroit but guess they have take a chance.

The Piston's goal for next season should be to avoid the Lottery (with their own draft pick ... if they still have it).

After Mike Brown won COY, I think we can safely stop giving this award, since it doesn't mean anything...
Monty is a good coach, that players like, with moving personal story and I liked him as a player. He probably not the best coach in the league, but good chance he was the best available, so good move for the Pistons.
I also think that staying 3 seasons with the Spurs probably did him some good, after getting the Pels job way too young...

I thought Monty underachieved with the Pelicans and little is talked about blowing a 2-0 lead in the finals losing 4 in a row. Perhaps being a mentor developer is more his thing with little expectation.
