KC @ NYY:

Royals trends :
4-18 L22 games
1-13 L14 away
15-49 L64 on Monday
3-25 L28 @ NYY
15-51 L66 vs NYY

Hovechar despite his talent level could be a very good matchup for NYY . His troubles have come on the road , in the day and most importantly vs LHB's.

Hovechar has allowed LH to hit 313(1.96WHIP) this year and 308 in his short career. Basically a 100 pts worse then RHB.

Not much in the day but 4 games 3starts:
0-3 17 Inn 20 H 15R 13Er 2 Hr 9 BB 13K

Mussina has been pitching well and when it looked like after the rough start at home vs Balt where Jeter made that error opening the floodgates might signal his demise. he survived vs Seattle when he didnt have good stuff and went to Minny had another rough 1st inning but settled down to throw 5 scoreless after that and was real good vs Tor allowing 1 run in 6 innings.

As we have seen Moose struggles with RHB alot because he get consistently INSIDE on them and leaves some of the pitches middle of the plate and they get hit into orbit . So interested to see what type lineup KC puts out and the Royals have done fairly well against Moose in 2006 and 2007 . Jose Guillen is just mashing now.

Both pens seem to have questions as KC doesnt seem to be concerning the Yanks . We dont how Soria bounces back on the road after Saturday . NYY has a PEN which all year has been all or nothing its either GREAT and unhittable or gascan ! really look at there gamelogs .

Total is 10 going to be hot again here in NYY . Look at the Thursday , Sat and Sunday games all day starts all games we swung the bat real well. Right now Damon , Giambi , ARod and Abreu appeared really locked IN with Posada not far behind. Matsui is hitting 329. Cano seems to be hitting the ball much better most of his atbats leaving Jeter and Cabrera who are slumping but having some good abs. Posada might get the day off though after consecutive starts.

Price is high at 240 but on paper we win this game at least 70% of the time with KC history at the Stadium and our offense lately would like to think we win this game 80% or better of the time. Which makes -240 modest but I hate to pay such a price when I am not sure of my SP. With alot of expected offense might lay -1.5 here , might !

Also Hovechar has walked a ton of guys so far and that can also be bad vs NYY for 3 reasons. There discipline could lead to alot of walks , it should lead to laot of good counts with Jim Wolf umping and it could mean quick runs on the board.........

Possibly helping the OVER 10 is KC lineup. They have 7 hitters at 290 or well above in day games which they cant squeeze all into the lineup at once. They have 2 medicore 256's from Buck and Gordon plus Aviles short resume. The 4 guys who dragged down the numbers are German 5-22 , Gathright 14-65 (left injured I believe) , Teahen 16-77 and Pena 7-56 and they totaled 2hrs and 16 rbi which was mostly Teahen's doing. Thats 42-220 !! The rest of the team is 162 -531 or 305 AVG. Yanks have 3 guys before today above 365 in Damon , Matsui and Jeter. Posada at 333 and Cano at 327. ARod 280 , Melky 266 , Abreu 274 and Giambi 250...

Seems like everyone likes to swing it . Gonna be real hot and maybe Moose struggles more cause of the heat being 39???

Tough to play Zona as road chalk. Think we can go back along way before we see a great offensive game from there lineup.

Thirteen games since they scored better then 5 runs on 5-25. In that span 5 runs once and 4 runs three times though they did that past two games and the other 9 games were 3 runs or less. In fact looking at there last 17 away game which started when they beat Webb 2-1 they have just twice both times in ATL scoed more then 4 roads on the road . Byrnes absence seems to coincide with the last 13 game run but clearly this lineup has scuffled outside of its division especially COLORADO. They are 5-14 away vs the East and Central (3-9) but 8-3 vs the WEST. Zona is also 6-13 L19 games since the series vs DET ended.

They see another LH and have lost 4 of 5 recently vs lefties onlty edging Gorelanny 4-3 this weekend.

I hate fading Unit though pitching so well and losing his last 3 starts despite 19.1 inn 17 h 7 runs 6 earned 3bbs 27ks since his last win. In which he allowed 6 hits and no runs with 1bb 5k in 7 innnings .

Duke is one of the slow tossing LH's that will have trouble in day starts as his career numbers indicate. He has been very good in 4 of his 6 home starts . Wonder how RJ takes the heat at his age .

Thinking Pitt ML or +1.5 and possible under ...

I like the Giants tommorrow. Cain against a depleted Nats lineup at -125, does that strike any of you as being a little odd? I would think the Giants should be -140 at the least expensive but maybe that's just me.

Maybe an OVER in Detroit. The Tigers like LHP and Lee has cooled down a bit. Willis puts a lot of guys on base.

Maybe a Jays RL play.

Thinking about WASH. Cain struggled last outing is just 2-4 away with both being 1run wins as he gets little run suppport. Cain is TOUGH LUCK basically. Clippard is capable( see his NY startsand he defeated the Mets in his debut talk about pressure !) and Mock was decent till the 5th inning . Might opt for +1.5 WASH but want to see lineups .

Thinking about Reds and possibly Under( they hit Hendrickson well but Vozquez dealing well) . Interesting to see Cincy vs LH in the near future. Hamels shut them down and if not for shaly defense so would have Olsen . Both much better then Hendrickson.

Over 8.5 @ Toronto. Washburn has been terrible most of the time with a crazy 7 ERA at night. With some extended rest I wnat to check but doesnt seem to be a good thing . Jays have Wells back and Barajas hitting make some tough RHB. Litsch cracked a little vs NYY but the Yanks are filled with tough LHs though Seattle will bring some as well. With Litshc throwing well outside of his last start and HOME teams dominanting this in 07 hard to not want to fade SEA especially at 8-22 away. Price seems rather high though when they are much lower vs Boston. Granted Ortiz is out and they had 2 good SP going .

When DET is home vs LH likely I play them especially at even money . Willis is a huge question mark especially how deep he can go. Indians only 216 away vs LHP and well Willis is just walking people and not allwing hits . Lee has been great but falling back to earth last 4 starts . DET is 3-0 vs CLE when they face a LHSP and Verlander doesnt start.

You can see L3 away not impressive 16.2Inn 29 Hits 16 Runs 15 earned 5bb 13Ks 3Hrs . Going back 5 of the past 6 vs DET and 8 of the last 10 show Lee getting hit hard by this group. More research still....maybe over ?

Hard to not like LAA . Hot team who finally lost today and getting payback after the sweep in TB. Somewhat scared though because of LAAs bats . Jackson has been good away outside off Fenway . Just seems cheap and cant understand why as Saunders has been so good. xpeted at least -150 so thats odd....have to look at this game. Weary of AL home teams maybe after they did so well? :cheers:maybe TB +1.5

Somewhat odd but the Nats were fav today with a guy making his ML debut and by -120 with Hill vs Sanchez. Not so worried about Nats lineup being thin as Cain inconsistency . Just 2 wins and SF has lost 9 of his 13 starts in 08. Last year he was 3-12 away and now 2-4 so Giants have lost 16 of his L21 away starts . If there was ever a game they could find a way to lose Game 4 trying to sweep on the road would be likely:cheers:

4-9 in 2008
9-23 in 2007
13-32 and lost 3 of previous year so 13-35 . We could be 35-13 fading Cain since mid Sept 2006 !!

Lost 7 straight June starts dating back to 2006 when he won 4 straight the first three were not good wins though .

Of the 3-12 away record last year . Just 4 runs of support 3 times and twice better then that otherwise 10 starts he recieved 3 or less. This year 4 twice and the rest 3 or less.

Last 21 away starts breakdown of support
5+ runs twice
4+ run 5times
3 or less runs 14 times

marlins tomorrow i watched the last time the fish faced volquez and they hit him well. they were a bit unlucky with a few key hits that ended up right at people.. tomorrow i look for some runs and i see volquez first subpar game of the year.. ill post some stats tomorrow about averages weather and all that in my post..

Looked at last years games and at home against much lower heat than this Moose seemed to do worse. He likes this umpire and situationally it should be an under but no way in hell can you bet under with him in this heat .Really not sure what to do.

im about to get into this card. i have cain on my fantasy team and if he gets rocked by washington i'm done with his bull shit. he will be dropped quickly.

YANKS fly to Oakland after the game.

im thinkin of taking a chance on the royals ML and playin DBacks ML....no feeling really with white sox...they should come in....also am liking the Tigers a lot...mostly because Lee is getting plus money which I feel is a trap...and maybe play Rays tonight because that line just keeps on going up...

im liking zona and over in the early game. the over is just a lean and won't be played i dont believe unless someone has good info on it?

i definately like yankees and under. public seems to like the over but the line hasn't moved and there hasn't been a double digit total for either one of these teams in a long time. mussina is pitching very well and i can't see KC scoring more than 3, 4 at most. i could easily see 6-2, 7-1, 5-2 something like that.

Kind of like Guillen +100 versus Giambi -130 for total bases (excluding walks) Guillen is 6 for 19 with a double and an hr versus Mussina with no walks. Giambi hasn't seen Hochevar and takes a lot of walks. (walks don't count towards total)

Still looking at the Yankee game . Quick question what gives you the impression Jimbo that the public is all the over ? Just a question nothing more , no hidden meaning and I dont use SI anymore . So I dont have the supposed splits .

EStreet - not an easy decision. Guillen has tore it up this series already but as I mentioned RHB seem to have a sound advantage right now vs Moose. Giambi is pretty locked on . I believe he hit an low 80's changeup out yesterday and if you watched you saw how hard Grienke was throwing and how he was getting Giambi to swing miss an up atthe stuff near 95 MPH. So for him to be able to sit back and hit a change out in Right -Center well into the bleachers seems mighty impressive. As you said though walks dont count and with a tight zone umped and Giambi's eyes we know he is more then willingly to take a walk . So tough one I rather have Giambi but the fact its logically he might loses some AB's to walks does make Guillen appealing . I just love Giambi presence at the plate and as he said huge difference for him is when they guys before he get on base as they cant imploy that overshift on him to same the degree. BOL in your choice.

Also to get back to Tuck's point while Hovechar has not started vs NYY he does have a 3inning relief app. It's a valid point about NYY not doing well against guys they havent seen before but Hovechar is a power pitcher and really that ' what Grienke was doing yesterday although he was working mostly fastball -change . Would imagine Hovechar's breaking stuff to a LH isnt very good but I cant recall much about him either to be honest . Doubt his change if he even throws on is a consistent as Grienke's who himself didnt impress me much after his fastball.

Couldnt decide on the ZONA total so passed . Unit day splits have been worse for a good awhile now and I am sure the heat doesnt help a lanky guy like him in his mid 40's. DId play Pitt +1.5 Runs for 1 . Just looked at Pitt's lineup though missing some key hitters faired much better in day games batter to batter . Sanchez was only .211 despite his love for LHP I wasnt so swayed by that . McLouth and LaRoche good day splits but being LH probably hurts them more here. Wanted to play 1st Inn NO score @ -130 and just missed it again ! Damn internet went screwy for 20 minutes

Its FREAKING HOT here in NY .

So still looking at the Yankee game and WSox game....

Just noticed 9 starts for Hovechar and the Royals have scored almost nothing for him.

4 runs of support twice
2 runs or less 7 times .

Which is why he has such a nice UNDER bias .

AWAY 1,4,0,0,4

The bold is the 4-2 WIN @ CLE . The others are LOSSES all by 2 + runs.

Yanks 14-6 L 20 meetings and 12 of the wins by 2 + ....going to risk it an dplay Yanks -1.5 RL:cheers:

Thanks Nut-

Went with Guillen for a small bit. Left everything else alone. I might look for the Twins later. Some good numbers versus Danks....

Played:

NYY -1.5 for 1.5 and Over 10-115 1u
1/2 u parlay NYY ML , Over 10 NYY , Over 8.5 Toronto and Tigers ML.

Pirates +1.5 RL -145 1u

Good Luck. Cant blame you looking at the situation there is a realistic possibilty Giambi doesnt get any abs especially if they decide to let Cano or Molina after him beat them . No vig involved why not with Moose struggling at times vs RHB.

Going to look at that one as well .

I would assume that most of his day starts were away starts which is why his away numbers look so good. So I think maybe he is someone at least right now who loves pitching in the sunshine above else . Possibly making home or away less relevant then Day or Night .

AJ is getting the day off so looks like Toby Hall is catching . Which from earlier this yearmeant alot of UNDERs when he caught . Which probably had just as much to do with WSox not hitting at all until the past 6 games and staff doing well for most of the year . On top of that losing AJ LH bat and replacing it with another RH in Hall who is okay at home plate but not as good as AJ by any stretch. Also thought about this in the 1st two games Monday day games just seem like a flat spot . What kinda of crowds go to Monday day games and really isnt it human nature to sort of wind down after the weekend so intensity may be lower . Something I contemplated when I played the Yankee over 10 runs.

Big issue with Minny is offense in day games 3.3 runs .250 avg 306 OBP which is a sharp decline from there overall season avgs of 4.6 runs .260 avg .324 OBP . So definetly alot better offensively at night .

Alot of inconsistency vs Minny . One thing I think I will disregard is the 5-29-07 start because that was the 3rd time they saw him in a 7 week span being he was so successful the 1st two starts not suprising he was roughed up there . So I want to look at that 4-09-08 start and see what was going on around that time. The May one looks decent but also would like to look closer .....

A win in Monday's finale - a makeup for an April 10 rainout - would give the White Sox their first four-game sweep of Minnesota since July 1-3, 1977, also in Chicago.

Want to dig more into the PENS for each see who is doing what lately and pitching on what days recently. Mostly because Perkins last 2 starts were ineffective lasting just 4 innings and running high pitch counts near 80 pitches .

Danks best work was April and I know that bad Minny start was at night possibly real cold maybe had something to do with it for him . Not sure when the other 4 April starts took place but good chance at least 3 maybe all 4 were in the daytime . He had just 4 night starts all year that 2nd start vs Minny and his last one were definetly night starts so thats leaves 2 more to figure out .

His last 7 starts alot of laboring efforts with pretty good results mostly due to his bullpen . He went 6 inn twice , 6.1 inn once , 5.2 inn once . Then 5 inn tiwce and 4.2 inn once so leaving alot to the pen which has responded well as it had a very good month of May . We can see in April he was basically at 13 pitches per inning and since he is at 17 on avg with 15.6 being his most effecient . So laboring in the heat never helps but not sure of CHI temps.

Jenks did blow the KC game after 2.1 scoreless innings from the pen and a few more in Xtras after the blown save. . His previous 2 starts the pen went 7 scoreless. The SFG game was insane. As it wasclose then suddenly the last innings teh floodgates opened but more for Sox. Left a scoreless game in the 7th and the pen did lose it allowing 2 runs but previously had went 4 scoreless innings.

Wsox pen in the day outside of Dotel ( Thornton , Masset , Linebrink , Jenks and Logan ).

51.2 innings 36 H 9 runs 2 Hrs 20 BB 41 ks

Dotel isnt that bad 12 inn 10 H 11r 6 Er 9bb 19K and has improved just 1 run last 9 appearances taking his ERA from 4.08 to 2.86 .

Twins pens this week outside of Bass , Boonser more long relief guys and Rincon who has been inconsistent all year have 15 scoreless innings . To which there core pen has allowed 6 runs in 38 innings during the day (Breslow, Reyes , Guerrier , Nathan and Crain . )

Sox were 10-4 vs LHP before falling last 3 times away to Kazmir and Laffey home to Saunders but pretty good trio . Allso 12 of 17 went under as the run production was scarce.....

5 minutes to go and undecided ....
Cant believe Floyd was just -140 yesterday and his is -180 or -190 . Just hard to see Sox losing but +1.5 Twins might have some if not alot of value. Especially with WSox at 20-8 in the division.....

Leaning Under 9.5 and Twinkies plus +1.5 RL but really dont see Sox losing here:cheers:

Wsox at home 14-3 vs the Central . SCARY! Trip to DET after this though hoping is a lookahead slightily

I played .75 on +1.5 Twins and 1 unit on the under 9.5 which scares me cause I need like 3-3 worse case after 5 innings...

Really seems they made this crazy high to attract Twins money but also like the fact people will settle and lay -1.5 at even or plus money rather then the vig...

Just hoping runs are scarce

how fucking golden is this under. hey nut, ive noticed you've been betting against the sox and cubs lately and i'm not sure that is such a good idea right now. i know you can pick your spots and get some juicy lines but these teams are playing too well.

I went with the twins +1.5 as well Nut

Good to be here Blue Chip. Little off time so I can play around a bit.

Quite a pitcher's duel in the Bronx. Guillen hasn't done squat for me yet but Giambi hasn't hurt me yet either. Guillen is on pace for an extra AB however.

Not the WSox ?? I dont recall going against them this week at all. Hit them nice on Fri and Sat with the overs and RL's . Cubs yeah I faded them all series in LAD which hurt mostly because I liked Billingsley alot but did well enough . Cubs are a big fade on the fade on the road vs RHP for me until they show they can score . I knew it was a slippery slope yesterday being Cubs would have lost 3 of 4 in LAD but gambled that LAD would scratch more runs home ...wasnt the wisest decision should have been pounding that UNDER ....live and learn

At the Stadium havent even watched any as that game is flying by . Suprised how little NYY has hit ...knew the run support for Hovechar should have scare me away ....change in UMPs as well went to sleep seeing Wolf who was switched for Montague I believe . Pitch count suprising for Hoverchar as is the ZERO walks not what I expected ....

Nice call by you though ...BOL Jimbo

Anyone get the feeling the Yanks need to be contested first, you have to challenge them by taking the lead. Otherwise they just look disinterested.

The bigger the hole they are in is, the better they play.

Jesus.

a double, immediately:36_11_6::36_11_6::36_11_6:

they needed the slap in the face before doing anything. Laughable :36_11_6:

satyr you were right on about the yanks lol, that was just eerie

and tuck dead on about yanks having dead bats and getting stymied if they havent faced that SP before

theyve showed no patience IMO, swung at a lot of first pitches

jesus, teahan almost made them pay for leaving him in

rails the first pitch to center, my gamecast shows it being caught deep in the warning track if not AT the wall

the umpires have made some of the worst calls of the year in this sox game. it is unbelievable and anybody who knows hawk harrelson knows that he is fucking fired up

Especially with KC its a good point about them needing to be challenged. Face it they dont want to lose to KC but they may need a push to dig in deeper .

- KC are 3-25 in the last 28 meetings in New York.
<LI class=more>KC are 15-51 in the last 66 meetings
Those have lost 89.3% of the games @ Yankee Stadium in that 28 game run and lost 77.3% of the past 66 meetings .

Along with being a franchise with recognition for little success the past decade and in the press for long losing streaks lately

Its definetly something to think about when researching these games .

I hope you win sportsnut. Man and what a moose you got with the sorry ass Mets. I had the ML but wanted your parlay to hit.
