Monday lines and discussion

Don't have a great feel for this card yet. Hate getting to this time of year where their are so many games OTB

I like the following at a glance, I'd like to hear some thoughts

ATL +? by tip
UTA/ATL O191
MIN/MIA U193.5
GS -3.5

BTW, i dont know if anyone noticed, but after the game, 3 different players mentioned that they really needed this rebound after the GS defeat. Might wanna circle the next match up in red..

uta@atl
okur is out, also a lot of injuries for the hawks, uta owns the hawks number they are 9-0ats against them the last 9 games. im leaning the jazz here, i think they get to build a new win streak after losing 6 straight, they should handle these winnable games easily. the total looks low, yes the hawks love to slow it down and the under is 8-2 for the last 10 games, jazz also have 4 consecutive unders the last 4 games

min@mia
how can miami be 9.5 favorites here? they are struggling bad. t-pups have shown they compete every game, craig smith has had 30pt-10reb games and al jefferson usually gets his 20-10, t-pups have backdoor covered 4 of the last 6 games but only won one against the suns. don't like either side as its really hard to know when the heat comes to play or when they mail it in

gsw@mem
pau is out, kelena's knee is hurting but he should play. gsw burned the public a few times already when they are on the road (in detroit and in portland). they also got embarassed by the pistons, they didn't seem interested in that game as they gave up early. they played barnes, belinele, wright, mbenga and croshere early third to the end of the game. griz on the other hand had an impressive win over the shardless magic. yes shard was out, but when you play w/o pau and win in orlando against a monster named howard, still impressive

mil@cle
hard to predict this game, bucks lose big on the road usually, cavs are on and off, even lost at home to the sixers, laying off this game, might look at the under

probable and likely plays for me: jazz, warriors and a couple of unders

I think the Suns lean(GOY) would have to do with the playoff revenge, Suns seem to bet better on the road (more focused), off a loss, maybe playing against the Spurs without Parker, and SAN off a dominant win w/out Parker. He may have more beyond that, but I think it has everything to do with the suspensions from the playoffs. I lean Suns here as well depending on the line.

Anybody really think Dallas found their defense? That total in Dallas in interesting as could be. I could see a 185 point game or a 220 point game.

Pacers/Knicks total looks a few points low and don't think the Grizz/Warriors won't have a shot at reaching 250 points tonight. Similar situation to their matchup last year when they dropped 270.

Quarter, half, team, and game overs in Memphis. 133-126.

Suns should win but I want to see how public it is. See if any fades are on it. If Spurs win this game, they might as well go 41-0 at home.

I have been waiting for the suns vs spurs game. Goy potential on the suns if the line is right
about the fourth time I've seen a possible GOY against the Spurs in this young season already. It hasn't panned out the first three and I don't think it will again tonight. Spurs at home with or without Parker will cover,IMHO. But Good Health on your pick.

I understand all the angles here, but don't think this should be getting GOY status as far as betting is concerned. The Suns surely have every Spurs game circled on the calendar but I don't see this being anywhere nearly to GOY. I don't think the line would be more than 5.0-5.5 with Parker in so I won't take the home team either, but the way Suns have been playing lately...wouldn't take them with high stakes either...

but then again, I'm so cold lately that you should wait for me to cap these games and simply fade. :D

No plays for me so far but have a couple of leans:

Minnesota +9

Wolves getting 9 attracts my attention. Miami doesn't blow out anyone these days and the Wolves tend to stay in games. I can see Miami leading by 15 throughout the game and still not covering in the end. They don't have the power nor the consistency to dominate against anyone right now.
How can anyone back a 3-19 team?

Minnesota is 6-2 ATS in last 8 road games. I think they have a shot at winning this. May even take a few cents on the ML at this price.

I had a lean with the Bucks but the Cavs will pull same shit the Nets pulled. The Nets "died" as a team as Tuck stated, just woke up to fuck the Cavs up. Cleveland could roll in this one and I'll be beating myself with a stick tomorrow. No thanks.

Indiana anyone?

Laying a few but who isn't these days, against the Knicks?

Also, look at this:
Code:

Talking about alternating wins and losses...

I see everyone and their momma is on Utah today. Not buying it. The Hawks are banged up but Sloan's boys haven't been playing that well sans the last game, also have a banged up Okur. 4.5 isn't such a short number any more.

Memphis is a poor man's GSW. The Warriors were embarrassed last night, I think they come out strongly. No Gasol helps the issue. Laying 3.5 here isn't that much considering this should be a scoring fest.
Lean: Warriors -3.5

Thoughts and ideas are welcomed.

By no means are the SUNS my GOY. I was simply putting out the Suns angles as to why Throw called it a possible GOY. I do lean Suns here, but no more than any other lean I've ever had. And I do find it somewhat funny that a couple of Spurs fans are the first to argue against any such play. Let's face it without Parker you'll have Vaughn guarding Nash all night. Parker has a hard enough time keeping Nash in front of him. Vaughn will find it impossible. A free Nash is a Suns team shooting open jumpers all night.

I am a Spurs fan and season ticket holder but I am also a fan of money and do not let the two interfere. Just saying as Satyr pointed out, didn't see this being a GOY. As far as Vaughn goes they (Suns) will still need to find a way to stop Ginobli.

Minny gets to play against Ricky Davis, for some of the players that are left on the team from last year. This guy was a complete cancer in the locker room. I can see Minny showing up for this game.

9 points is far to many to be giving a hopeless Miami team.

Indiana @ -2 looks nice, but there has to be something more to this. (havent done any capping for the nba since the cleveland debacle)

First thought in GSW/Memp game is the total it either goes close to the total and under or like Picks said they put up 250 easily.

Love the revenge factor for the Suns, but I cant back them against the Spurs OTR.

Blazers are so hot right, its tough not to back them. Its interesting that they are 12-12 this year, imagine if Oden was playing.

I like the Hawks to keep it close, and maybe even sqeak one out.

Lines are extremely tight, and I think Vegas has figured it out and I cant wait till March/April when we can make some sick money.

San Antonio's motivation pales in comparison to that of Phoenix. There's a number of ways this game could have set up better for the Spurs. A 1-1 or 2-0 in that Dallas-Utah couplet at home would have made a difference here. A Phoenix win over New Orleans would have made a difference here. A 12-1 home record instead of 13-0 would have made a difference here. Is anybody gonna be more possessed than Amare tonight? You put Bell (or Marion) on Ginobli and harass him all night. Nash gets to take a night off on defense with Vaughn in there. Elson is also out, which is another big body for defense and rebounding. Spurs just crushed Denver. You just can't compare how much these respective teams want this game. Phoenix has been waiting for this night for 7 months. If Spurs win tonight, I'll pencil them in for 41-0 or maybe 40-1 at home and another Western title.

Killa

Thoughts on Pho 1st qtr, or hf.

With all the above being said, you think they come out guns blazing?

Guns blazing. But I won't even mess with those other bets. The crowd might carry the Spurs early, but eventually talent and desire will take over. If Phoenix loses this game, I think it will be very telling of both teams' chances. This is definitely a circled game for them, probably treating it just like a playoff game.

Even though the Suns will definitely be more fired up to take the W here, the Spurs see red when they meet Phoenix as well. No Parker definitely changes a lot, Duncan is fresh off the injury, but the Suns have been playing some sub par basketball themselves.

I have to leave this one to other interested parties I'm afraid. No bet for me. Could see both teams winning it.

will Aldridge play tonight?

i believe so

McMillan: Aldridge likely to miss another game

I uncovered a bit of tempering news in the aftermath of the Trail Blazers' surprisingly impressive 116-105 victory over the Denver Nuggets Sunday night.
LaMarcus Aldridge, the Blazers' leading scorer and rebounder, probably will not play Monday when the Blazers host the New Orleans Hornets at the Rose Garden. Aldridge, who has missed the past four games with plantar fasciitis in his right foot, said last week that he hoped to return in time to play the Hornets.
Instead, coach Nate McMillan said Aldridge likely will work out at the Blazers' morning shootaround and, perhaps, work out again prior to the game. McMillan will gage Aldridge's health and evaluate his play during the workouts and determine when the 6-foot-11 forward should return.
Aldridge has worn an immobilizing boot on his sore right foot since undergoing a magnetic resonance imaging test last Monday.
"My plan is not to play him (Monday) and it's not because we're playing well," McMillan said. "He hasn't practiced. He's been in that boot for a week and he hasn't done anything on the floor. I would like to see him run in a practice first."
The Blazers, to great surprise, have not missed Aldridge's 18.7 points and 7.7 rebounds, registering four wins in four games against challenging opponents' Denver, Golden State and Utah (twice).
So even though McMillan left himself a little wiggle room, saying "maybe he's a game-time decision," the odds seem slim that Aldridge will see action against the Hornets.
"I don't expect him to play," McMillan said.
