A rant.

MLB has lost their minds. I have complained about many things they have done over the years, but this trend will definitely be their undoing. They go after the cable dollars right? TV has given them a ton of money. But their greed will cost them their fan base and eventually their sport. We are all aware of the fact that you can't afford to go to a game with a friend let alone a family. Costs too much so you stay home and watch the game on TV. MLB thinks they are smart because they get you to watch anyway Right? Well consider this problem. They are greedily using other cable channels such as Roku and Apple to broadcast some of their games. This gets them a lot more money. But this trend will branch out so most of the games will be carried over Roku, Apple, Peacock, Prime, Hulu and all the others. Has to happen eventually. And do you think everyone will pay all these premium channels so they can watch the games? I think not. Most people can't afford those subscriptions and definitely not to watch a fucking baseball game. So, MLB has made it cost to much to go to the games in person and they will make it cost too much to watch their games on all these pay for view cable channels. What happens then? People stop going and people stop watching baseball because it costs too much. Brilliant MLB. It is inevitable you will price yourself into oblivion. Good job. Your greed will kill you and I can't say I will do anything but laugh when it happens.

Oh, and it's Saturday today and you have exactly two afternoon games on and it's only two because Cleveland has a makeup DH otherwise you scheduled 1 game for Saturday afternoon. That put 14 games on at night. A Saturday night. But I get your reasoning because people don't do anything on Saturday night except stay home and watch baseball. And since they sure as fuck can't afford to actually pay to go to the games this is a stroke of genius by MLB. Who are these clowns?

Wire..i agree with your rant. Im in North Florida and 2 of the teams i like to follow now that i am a native are the Rays and the Marlins. Moreso the rays. I get the mlb subscriptiin and both of those teams are blacked out on the app, home or road. Which is stupid. People dont have the same cable setups as in the past. But i can get another fandual subscription and watch them on there for like $60 a month. No thanks.

I can do audio only on the mlb app for those teams, and i have come to like both sets of announcers. But still. At least open it up when they are on the road.

I understand WHY they are doing what they are doing with getting games on these other providers....its usually a larger market team. It just stinks for the casual fan.

This is a problem across the major sports. It‘s a shame to see what everything is coming to … I wish folks were in charge who cared about Joe Fan, but I guess they‘re there to make as much money as possible…heartless scum.
