Toronto was struggling before Kirk, their starting catcher, got hurt but now, they are really reeling. Watch them really struggle now. All teams have many outfielders and although they have preferences they can play many fields. Same goes for infielders. And all teams have about 106 pitchers. But the only position that has one specialized player is catcher. They have a backup, but he isn't the same as the starter. Catchers are involved in every pitch of the game. And if pitchers were smart, they would shut up and listen to all the pitches he calls. They will usually see many different pitchers per game, but the catcher rarely changes unless he is injured. They rarely get a day off and that's why they are the most important position on any team. And something most don't know is because they are the smartest players catcher is the position that produces the most managers in the history of MLB. The loss of a starting catcher is devastating to a team because they are not only always the smartest players on the team they are often the most handsome. Just sayin. GL
