I just think a lot of the bad rap on Dusty is historical with the over-use of Pryor and Wood back in the day with the Cubs. He was definitely guilty of that, but I think he has learned moving forward. This year he got criticized for continuing to bat a cold Ryan Zimmerman behind Harper in the Cub Series in Chicago and Madden decided Harper wasn't going to beat them and he was walked 15 times in the series. A lot of people thought he should have moved Murphy behind Harper in that situation. What I have seen that I like is that he really is a player's manager and I think the Nats have much more chemistry in the clubhouse than they did under M. Williams who really lost the team last season. Dusty has been good with keeping the player's fresh and using his bench well this season, getting nice contributions from Stephen Drew, Heisey and Robinson in particular and I like what Maddux has done with the pitching staff.
 
I believe PlayToWin first pointed out that Nova had a problem on 5. I am seeing 15.2 innings 8.04 ERA
 
However in 14 AAA starts this season batters hitting .285 vs Chi Chi this season. This is an under series but lean over with these two pitchers.
 
NY METS are 22-3 (+21.1 Units) against the money line when playing on Monday over the last 2 seasons.
 
Right and Arizona is 6-3 on Monday and Philadelphia is 1-9 and I still like Philadelphia today if Velaquez is playing on 6. Arizona just finished 4 days in Colorado has a rather weak pen and Ray is weak at night and on 4 and somehow I think Philadelphia has not forgotten the home sweep.This is a 9 total?

Samardzija has struggled this June, 4 starts 6.23 ERA and allowing bats to hit .299

Mengden had poor control in his first start but since then 6.1 IP 1 BB and 7 K's and 6.0 IP 1 BB and 9 K's

SF hasn't been anything special in first game of series at home:

I know little about the Texas starter but on 6+ I am seeing 4.84 22.1 innings and not so clear if I can count on it

  • Angels are 5-16 in Shoemakers last 21 starts following a Quality Start in his last appearance.

So Thor throws season high 115 then gets 6 days rest for next start in which he has to leave after 6 to have elbow examined and the fact he's back on 4 here has to be a positive.

Ross has seemed serviceable but maybe only "seemed" as Nats are 4-10 L14 Ross starts vs teams w/ a winning record

Nats 1-7 L8 overall

Not the biggest samples for Duffy but better road and day and this is home and night
Home: 27.2 IP 4.88 era .250 avg 29 K's
Away: 31.0 IP 2.03 ERA .213 avg 42 K's
Day: 25.1 1.42 .205
Night: 33.1 4.86 .250
