Miami has been battling quite well playing until the bitter end. Milw has been no slouch either. Took this match based on almost price alone. These 2 teams and matched up july 5 with quantrill on the bump and while he diidnt make it out of the 4th he gave up 6 hits, allowed the only 2 brewer runs, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. Certainly facing a much better pitcher here than in that game, but peralta did give up 5 hits and 4 earned at LAD last time out that included 1 hr, 3 walks and only 1 k. He sports a 1.51 whip at home and miamis willingness to steal bases (11th in the league the last 30 days with 16) could help to put extra runners in scoring position.
Cws was a bet on houser over imanaga. Cws is 6 and 4 in their last 10 and have been scoring of late. They could always revert back to their 1st half self. Ill take the better pitcher, in their current form, at this price.
Anotber pitcher matchup i feel i am getting the better deal on. You are always succeptible with oakland doing oakland things. You can dig into numbers and find plusses for both sides. Chose to invest with the A's here. Noted hou has a good record vs lhp. Hou had been a different club while pena has been on the shelf.
Washington is again a play on what i feel is a better pitcher at the price. I know minnesota played Lad hard, but recent dodger struggles have made that mean less, imo. Ive had gore in these spots before and it has been with mixed results. I like this spot for yhe nats abainst zebby.
WEbb is on yhe hill for the giants. They still have a tough time scoeing runs notwithstanding their last 2 against the braves. I likw the directiin the mets are heading wiyh their offensive production. I had this closer to a pick...so this was an easy choice for me.
PLease tell me what team baltimore should be a 200 favorite over? Ill wait. It will be about the 5th time all year. Colorado has been scrappy since the break and their lineup has been hitting well. Freelands away splits are much better, as are most colorado pitchers, away from coors. Balt 3- yheir last 10 while the rox are 5 and 5. Balt is 11-17 vs lhp.
Could be a couple more. These are the rest of my leans from when i initially reviewed the card this morning. Some of which wont make the card due to being big favs...but toying with parlaying the yanks with something, maybe tex.
