Here are the reasons why:

Hamel 2-1 373 ERA who's 0.57 walks per 9 innings and 13.50 strikeout-to-walk ratio trail only Bartolo Colon, yielded three runs in six innings after pitching 14 scoreless against Milwaukee last season in two starts, both at Miller Park.
He's 5-0 with a 2.20 ERA in seven career starts against the Brewers. Gerardo Parra is 8 for 22 in their matchups, and Lind is 6 for 20 with two home runs.


Jimmy Nelson He's 0-2 with a 5.82 ERA in three starts against the Cubs. Chris Coghlan and Jorge Soler are both 4 for 9 off Nelson with six extra-base hits.

Sanchez (2-3, 5.11 ERA), who has won his last five starts against the Royals.
The right-hander retired the first 15 batters and wound up allowing three runs and four hits over 7 1-3 innings in Sunday's 6-4 win. He is 6-2 with a 1.40 ERA in eight career starts against Kansas City for his lowest ERA against any club he has faced more than once.
'I guess I just know them really well,' Sanchez said when asked why he continually stymies the Royals. 'We'll see. I face them again in my next start.'
This one could be even better considering he has a 0.77 ERA in winning all three of his starts versus Kansas City in Detroit.



Jeremy Guthrie (1-2, 6.52) opposed Sanchez last week, permitting six runs and 11 hits in six innings to take the loss. Miguel Cabrera again made life miserable for Guthrie, going 3 for 3 with a homer in their matchups while Alex Avila and Yoenis Cespedes had two hits apiece.
He has yielded at least four runs in four of five starts and his .376 opponent on-base percentage is the fourth-worst in the AL.

Scherzer 1-2 3.41 ERA in 5 career starts against San Diego, has faced the Padres just once since 2010 and took a 5-1 road loss April 13, 2014, while with Detroit. He gave up four runs in five innings while striking out 10.
Cashner hasn't allowed more than two earned runs in an MLB-record 21 consecutive home games dating back to June 2013. He's 6-9 with a 1.50 ERA in that stretch and did not get a decision in a 4-3 win over Washington on June 7, scattering two hits and one walk in six scoreless innings.
Cashner went 0-1 with a 1.50 ERA in his two starts against the Nationals last season and is 1-2 with a 4.79 ERA in four career ones.

Pence is expected to make his season debut as the Giants try to post consecutive road wins for the second time Saturday night against the Cincinnati Reds, who are looking for another strong start from Mike Leake.
Pence has recovered from a broken left forearm suffered when he was hit by a pitch March 5. The right fielder went 5 for 17 with two homers in five games on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento.

Going to try something different just for today. I REALLY like 2 games today, will do a Round Robin with 2's,3's,4's for shits and giggles.
