Miami vs. Ole Miss Discussion Thread

I wonder if Lane is feeding Golding/Weis Jr. some offensive help under the table. Wouldn't it make sense considering how they've looked so far?

All incentives should be voided if you leave for another school. Thats a bunch of BS.
You guys do realize it's in his contract with LSU that he gets $250k per win by Ole Miss in the CFP right? The outrage isn't real, LSU is paying it, not OM.

I’ve always liked LSU. Won my biggest bet ever when they beat Oklahoma in 2004. But the last two coach hires have soured me.

Back to the game. I honestly thought Ole Miss would open as a favorite in the -2.5/3 range. I know the Miami defense is really good. I’m just shocked the betting public would back them as a favorite in this game.

After the Rebels knocked off the Bulldogs to win the second CFP game in school history, senior defensive tackle Zxavian Harris said Kiffin was again trying to steal the spotlight from one of the greatest teams in Ole Miss history.

"Yeah, he was just trying to steal our shine," Harris said. "That's all he's trying to do. That's all he's been trying to do is steal our shine."

Harris said Kiffin's abrupt departure from Ole Miss in the middle of a CFP run was like a "slap in the face."

"Like a slap and the backhand," Harris said. "He was trying to be a troll. We're going to troll him. We got something for him."

Lawyers keep thinking, “BFD”.

No, not “big fucking deal”, but “breach of fiduciary duty”.
I guess when he/others sign these new contracts they get full indemnity from the new hiring university?

And I was one who fell for "he's changed" based on the little documentary I watched. I do not remember if it was ESPN or another channel/streaming service.

I was conned and admit it
He sucks.

Either you or I will probably fall for it again with him .. he just is that successfully slimy

Probably the best matchup of the playoffs thus far. Although Ole Miss D played a pretty impressive game vs Georgia they are the only remaining team that isn't here because of their defense. Miami’s line advantage on both sides likely decided this one but will Miami be able to shut Ole Miss down on offense like they did the past 2 opponents? Doubtful. Will be interesting to see how Beck responds in a game he may need to score 27 or more points to win.

Stay on track fellas. It’s obvious Kiffin is approaching Trump levels of disdain by the populace. One of the more fascinating things to witness in some time. I urge some of you to bookmark these threads for a 3 or 5 year rehash. Would you belittle your friend or child for bettering themselves and reaching for the stars. Of course not. In due time, the causation of the Lane obsession will be clear. Until then, keep fueling the fire 🔥 for the next Dynasty.
We coming!

That OU LSU game was memorable. I had a huge bet on LSU as well. Maybe my write-up is still at covers lol. That was a fun Tigers team.

Interesting on thinking OM would be the favorite.

Miami -3 was always my thought. With that being said, I'll root for Ole Miss.

I think the Miami defense shutting down Texas A&M and Ohio State the past 2 weeks has significantly influenced the line. If these two teams played on a neutral field the week of Thanksgiving, I don’t think there’s any way Miami would’ve been -3.5. Not sure who I’m betting yet, but I think there is line value with Ole Miss.

I don’t put much into beating A&M, Reed is a garbage qb. But dominating OSU is worthy of upgrading them considerably imo

Agree bout reed, actually think saw some things in that gm chambliss and ol miss could exploit tho. Early on reed was killing them with scrambles, canes fixed that as the gm went on but they didn’t really have to worry bout his arm the way they will chambliss. As @B.A.R. Pointed out when osu went fast canes pass rush wasn’t as effective, same thing happened in Aggies gm. Ol miss won’t wait til end of game to go fast. Obviously sacks a concern but think chambliss over rush yards a pretty solid bet. He hasn’t been running as much as season has went but think it be there for him and his number really low. Canes play quite a bit of man, think there be at least a few times the pass rush gets a little overzealous and chambliss finds himself with lanes and space in front of him. Of course if he takes 4-5 sacks might not matter.

Value for me is in Miami defense which is elite. I doubt that's a question at this point. I don't see any way Ole Miss front is an issue for Miami goliaths. So naturally I go to Miami fast. The hook is tricky.

I don't think Ole Miss has seen a better defense this season.

I really don't mind Beck in this situation. Likely play Canes if it gets under 3 but I doubt that happens. I can see them destroying OM. Prolly throw Canes ML in with a couple CBB games

Pretty significant advantage for Ole Miss in the kicking game in my opinion.

Chambliss may just be that dude. I'm worried as a Canes future holder, Beck is going to have to do more this game than he has in the other 2.

I kinda think he is that dude. Granted canes pass rush significantly better than uga’s but he was freaking awesome in that gm.

I really think it comes down to fletcher and canes run gm. As good Miami d is I think they will get worn out unless canes offense controls the gm. Probably good news for Miami, they ran it decently well against a way better Ohio st run d. Long as they running the ball effectively I think Beck be fine, ol miss ain’t exactly good at turning qb’s over.

I don't see an issue with the mammoth Miami O Line controlling the game

Malachi Toney I think will be featured in a bunch of roles and that's the best player on the field

Love Chambliss but I'm not seeing success here for OM offensively

I don’t either, that really why I can’t convince myself to play ol miss, it be crazy for me to all a sudden be taking a team I think prob gets beat at the Los on both sides. I think chambliss can do some things but if canes keep the possessions low and the d fresh it won’t be easy. At the moment I think I like fletcher and chambliss rush props.

Anyone bet the Canes, please just submit ML.

Laying 3 or under in CFB or pro is tough nowadays.

Preaching to the choir mate

I can's stand laying numbers in basketball let alone this

But if there is a cover I think it's Miami because I believe in defense equaling points moreso than offense in this game

Yeah I don’t think people realize how slowed down the game just feel for Chambliss. Tulane and then an overrated UGA front which only got “hot” beating on crappy SEC teams and Tulane. Even then he turned his back and ran backwards 20 yards at a time and was fortunate to get away. Those could be game changing mistakes vs this front.

Only thing that worries me bout his rushing prop is taking a couple 15+ yard losses, that prob kill the fucking thing. Pretty confident he have himself at least 2-3 scrambles of 10 or so.

Cannot stand to bet a QB college rushing prop. Hell, Chambliss might fall down with nobody touching him...too bad

Speaking of defense, Ole Piss beat the shit out of Stockton last game. Not sure Beck can withstand a similar beating. Could see some turnovers generated.

First time shame on him

Second time shame on me - not going to happen. Really, cannot imagine being that guy. The love of money is the root of evil

lol. I know right. It still so hard for me to stay away, I think for most part I’m pretty decent w them but I’ve def had more than a few where dude go over then right back under w sacks. I actually played pavia under vs Texas I think and thought I was beat but he took a few late sacks to go back under 😜

Life would be so much easier if I didn't sign a morality clause when I was born (allegedly)

That tapeworm Kiffin is 1/2 way to his $1MM bonus and earns the rest if Ole Miss wins it all.

I'm guessing he's fine now just having the $500K in his pocket and calling it a day. The optics of Golding winning it all would be so fantastic and the biggest kick in the balls to Kiffin.

Thing is I'm outside of the games and would still consider it Kiffin's national championship

The rest is the exact tabloid bullshit everyone hates when it goes against them. I simply don't care. It's his team. If they win, good on him.

And the reality is this is their only legit chance at winning one.

Parlay Just cause I want some action and have no freaking idea really.

Fletcher 100+ rushing
Chambliss 30+ rushing
Both teams to score 20+

I put several feeler texts out last night to see if anyone wanted to go if I could get free tickets and not one person wants to even do that. Guess they don't want to deal with the crowd but man I'm either getting old or need to meet younger friends. Haven't even tried to score tix but now I know it's not worth the effort. Tells me the brokers here are taking a massive bath on these things.

I don't thing there will be much scoring here unless it's Miami, Sooners held OM to 17 and I think the Miami defense is a much better version of OU's defense. Pretty easy to gameplan when you have a defensive front like that and an O-line as big as the Great Wall.
