Miami vs. Indiana Discussion Thread

I've never gotten into what is considered square or otherwise. I just try and trust my eyes. Not always reliable but doing so in this case without hesitation and on IU at 7 pretty big.

Home field for Miami? There won't be a discernible crowd advantage. People don't realize how the IU fan base is traveling. It's everywhere and in big fashion. That won't change next Monday. When you're 140+ years deep into college football, playing for a championship for the first time ever and have the biggest alumni base in the country, such is the case. IU's turnout was huge in the quarterfinal and semi and that certainly isn't changing next Monday, whether the game is in Miami or on Mars. Guessing it will effectively be a neutral site game or right at it.

More importantly, on the field, it's an unbridled coaching mismatch. I don't need to do the math there with Cignetti and Cristobal. The fact that Miami won its semi despite its headsets is still a wonderment. That was a mess, to put it mildly. Anyone who watched it can vouch. Cignretti and IU aren't into messes. They're into discipline, organization and flawless execution that we haven't seen since, well, Saban. Because Cignetti is Saban 2.0. No doubt, Miami has really good skill and athleticism in multiple places. IU has shown that's irrelevant - nullifying, beating and even dismantling equal / better talent in that respect (see Oregon, Ohio State and see Oregon again). Most important position in sports? Beck has been good in the playoffs but it's not a long discussion when comparing to Mendoza. We could go on.

I've been ready to say, time and time again, that Indiana's run would have to end at some point. It's seems clear now that it will end - but on Indiana's own terms, and that's in winning a national title. Still weird to type that but we're just dealing with a team that is simply on a mission. Easily the best one in the country this season and I'll be very surprised if IU doesn't win the game by 10 - 14, maybe a bit more.

I got a lot of criticism when I said that Dante Moore sucks and my best guess is that I won't hear any of that again.

Not playing well vs Indiana doesn’t change the fact he was one the better qb’s in ncaa this season. I didn’t think he play well last night, doesn’t change my opinion of him. Of course I’ve never had all that strong an opinion on him, he for sure talented. I don’t think he will succeed if he gets drafted by a shit franchise. Put him in right spot with a good coach and I have no doubt he could be a solid nfl guy, unfortunatly for him one these crap organizations will reach and ruin any chance he has of success. He won’t be the last qb to be shook by Hoosiers d, step on up Carson Beck! (Ty Simpson got wrecked by Hoosiers also)

Mendoza is the only QB worth drafting high.

Not only has Indiana been hacking into the VEO/ Pixellott software to watch practice film of other teams, but they have infiltrated most cloud based system which teams keep their game plans on. This includes opening scripts (funny they jumped the first route today and returned it for a pick six). They know every sign and every variation the coaches on opposing teams plan for.

If this is verified I expect the same outrage that was directed at Michigan and Harbaugh.

Is there a better coach at any level than Cignetti because I certainly don't think there is. You can't overstate the difficulty in winning at Indiana.

I forget the exact numbers but the stat the makes me feel like the coaching/recruiting/portal landscape could change due to Cignetti is Oregon having something like 54 4 or 5 star guys and Indiana has 8. The criteria shift is incoming I feel for how teams look for guys.

Gives hope for other teams so I like it. Need a good coach and some rich boosters that don’t mind paying for wins.

Absolute horrible result last night. I have a smaller one and just have to let it ride.
We needed an Oregon win or at least a close game. I don't know what to do but walking away with nothing with futures at these odds is rough. Just have to hope that the breaks go our way but its not going to be easy.

Someone said it was a bunch of 26 year olds beating up 18 and 19 year old 4/5 stars

I think the average age of IU's team is like 22.5 years old. Definitely older than most teams but not eligible for social security.

That still doesn't explain Oregon not being able to stop them.

Saw a couple people on Twitter today talking about how they must be cheating because none of this makes any sense given their talent level.

This sounds like some collegekingrex line moving shit.

Simple for me, Indiana ML. Miami won't score much. No one can on this defense... But just to be extra square, ML it is for me.
Just laying -330 or you finding a partner?
I don’t bet nearly as much as I used to; Reminds me of heavy boxing days I wouldn’t bat an eye at it lol.
