Hello Friends, 2026 Masters Week In Round

I ended up a little in the black for this week. Could have been special had Rose won and P Reed didn't fade today

KJ, I don't know how you dislike this tournament, especially compared to the crap we're subjected to the rest of the season. Shinnecock should be awesome. Aronimink is intriguing. I don't love Birkdale, though it was pretty cool when Spieth won the last time there.

My problem with Augusta is that they are starting to cater to the lowest common denominator fan. Get those "Pimento," "Fore Please" and "Azalea" hats out of here. It's unbecoming of a place like that. Same with the stupid gnomes. And Masters apparel is basically like gear for the logo whore at any random country club, but for public course players

I don't hate the tournament, it's should be another glorified event annually like the other elevated tournaments. The course is fairly boring imo and the final two holes are all I need to bring up. Not one birdie on 17 today.

There are a ton of courses that would make for great annual majors above Augusta imo. The ho hum is cute but give me Pebble, Pinehurst, Bethpage Black, and a bunch others more than that golf course. It certainly for my entertainment doesn't deserve an annual major. It's the way it is because we know the holes inside and out. East Coast time sucks for a ton of us fans too. One major in Pacific/Mountain time every year. Solves it all.

Pinehurst sure. Pebble already has an annual tournament and it sucks. Most overrated venue in sports IMO. And Bethpage is more suited for a regular tour stop in mid-July. I think Augusta is incredible, TV doesn’t do it justice. There are a ton of courses in the US that would make for very intriguing tournament hosts, but there’s a lot more that goes into it than just the course itself. I’m all about west coast majors, I love prime time golf. I would love to see the US Open go back to Chambers Bay. They got a bad rap because of weird weather.

Weird weather? I don’t recall the weather issues.

I do recall players saying the course conditions were horrendous and the greens were like putting on broccoli.

It's a nice course, I think it and Bandon should both be on rotation. The thing that stuck out to me about that Open was how incredibly awful the broadcast was. Was it Job Buck doing the call? Can't remember because it had to be watched on mute.
